We were really looking forward to staying on Mapleton Hill in Boulder, based on the images for this property. Upon arrival we were rather disappointed at the general outward appearance of the property, landscaping had been neglected, front screen door broken, bicycles and children's toys scattered about, vegetation blocking the access path to the unit's entry. Once inside we noted a small DeLonghi portable AC unit in the living room which was incapable of keeping up with the heat, 88-90F, during our stay. This one AC unit for a 2 bedroom with full kitchen, bathroom and living room unit. The AC could not keep up with the heat making sleeping most uncomfortable. We bought a fan to move air within the unit, and the proprietor provided a second fan. The unit is approximately 900-1,000 sqft. Still insufficient heat relief for comfortable sleeping considering the high Boulder temperatures during our stay. I should note there is no ventilation or air handling in the unit including a vent fan in the bathroom. There was mold on the bathroom ceiling which the owner scrubbed the day after we mentioned it, only to return once again, Not recommended, as it appears the owner's priorities are elsewhere, as our experience indicates the property is not well maintained.

Thank you for your feedback, Rick. A few points for future guests: the bathroom has a quiet ceiling vent fan, with its switch right next to the light switch. The apartment's thick stone walls keep it naturally cool, and with the windows and doors closed, the AC keeps it around 70°F even on Boulder's hottest days. We brought over an extra fan as soon as you asked. We treated the bathroom ceiling with a mold cleaner during your stay, and after you checked out we cleaned and power-washed all the surfaces. The side path was photographed just before its scheduled mowing. We're sorry the stay didn't meet your expectations, and we're grateful to the many guests who have rated us 9.8 out of 10.
