Welcome to your unique Alaskan escape! This stunning, architect-designed 3-story home offers an unforgettable Fairbanks experience, blending original 1979 Scandinavian contemporary style with modern comforts. The house features incredible panoramic windows—including a signature West-facing circular window designed to capture intense, overhead aurora storms right from the warmth of the living room. For milder displays hugging the northern horizon, simply step outside onto the expansive wrap-around deck.
Immerse yourself in the unique architecture, relax while spinning some vinyl on the record player, or mix a drink at the dedicated bar area. The fully equipped kitchen makes meals a breeze, and the cozy office nook provides space if you need to connect. Enjoy sweeping wilderness views from the deck, gather around the fire pit table under the stars (or the midnight sun!), and unwind in the private, authentic Finnish sauna – a true Nordic treat.
The main house features 2 comfortable bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms spread across its three levels. Need more space? The property includes a charming, detached heated bunkhouse – a studio setup with two sturdy bunk beds (queen below, twin XL above), perfect for extra family members or friends.
24/7 self-check-in is available via smart lock.
!! PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING: !!
AURORA EXPECTATIONS: The indoor round window captures INTENSE overhead storms only. Mild aurora hugs the northern horizon and is best viewed from the outside deck. Please check aurora forecast apps during your stay if indoor viewing is a must.
BUNKHOUSE NO RESTROOM: The detached bunkhouse does NOT have its own restroom. Guests will use a shared hallway restroom on the second floor of the main house, accessible via a 90-foot/30m outdoor walk.
STAIRS: The main house is a three-story structure with multiple steep staircases. It may not be suitable for guests with mobility limitations or families with very young children. The first-floor bedroom offers stair-free access from the entry.
ACCESS & TRANSPORTATION: A personal rental car is essential for your stay. Due to our secluded location, rideshare services (Uber/Lyft) and taxis are unavailable in our area. Ample parking is available on the property.
WINTER DRIVING (October - April): A vehicle with 4-Wheel Drive (4WD) or All-Wheel Drive (AWD) is MANDATORY for safe and reliable access. Our road is maintained and plowed, but it is snowy and can be icy. Booking the right vehicle is straightforward, as most FAI rental agencies offer a 4WD/AWD tier, and you will not need special equipment like tire chains. With the right vehicle, guests consistently find the road easy to navigate, even without extensive snow-driving experience.
This retreat is perfect for adventurers, aurora chasers, and anyone seeking a peaceful, inspiring getaway surrounded by Alaskan beauty, with unique local experiences close by. We look forward to hosting you!
