We had such a great time staying at Dan’s house! Location is perfect to the mountains and we loved the wood burning stove that kept the house warm all winter. My dog loved the fenced in backyard and great places to hike/walk in the neighborhood. Dan is easy to communicate with and fixes anything we needed so quickly. Would stay again this house has everything!

Thank you so much for the kind review Heather. I’m happy to hear you had such a great time at the house and enjoyed everything from the wood-burning stove to the fenced backyard and the surroundings. It means a lot to know the home worked well for both you and the pooch 🐶.
You were wonderful guests and a pleasure to communicate with throughout your stay. I really appreciate your kindness, and I’d be happy to host you again anytime. Thanks Dan
About the host

“I’m someone who truly values creating memorable experiences and welcoming spaces. I split my time between Los Angeles and Truckee, and this home is a special place for me. It’s a peaceful retreat surrounded by nature and close to everything I love about the mountains. My goal is for guests to feel completely at ease here, whether you’re coming to relax, explore, or to reconnect. I’m always happy to offer local tips or recommendations, and a phone call away to make your stay even better. I take pride in keeping the home clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully prepared so you can just arrive and enjoy.”
Why they chose this property
We chose this neighborhood because it has the kind of mountain setting people come to Truckee for—tall pines, a quieter pace, and a more relaxed feel than the busier resort areas. At the same time, it’s just minutes from downtown, so guests can easily enjoy local restaurants, shops, and everything Truckee has to offer.
What makes this property unique
What makes this property unique is its direct access to the outdoors. You can ride mountain bike trails right from the driveway, with additional trail access just across the street—something few homes in Truckee offer. Prosser Reservoir is also about a 10-minute walk away, making it easy to enjoy kayaking, paddleboarding, and peaceful lakeside time without having to drive. The home also features a fully fenced backyard, which is uncommon in the area and ideal for guests traveling with dogs. Combined with its quiet setting and close proximity to downtown Truckee (just 7 minutes), it offers a rare balance of convenience and immediate access to nature.
