About this property
Waterfront Log Cabin on Airstrip with Aurora Views
It doesn't get anymore "Alaskan" than this! A rustic log cabin on a bushplane runway & lake. Watch airplanes take off and land right from the living room window! You'll get the full Alaskan experience, yet only minutes from town and all the local attractions.
Rustic charm loaded with amenities: Wi-Fi, 55" Roku HDTV, granite countertops, high-end cookware, bath products and bedding. The cabin is furnished with handcrafted log furniture made by our family, with natural finishes throughout. A deck facing the water, fire pit, barbecue, snowshoes and sleds are available for your use during the winter. In summer we keep some bikes, infant life vest & fishing poles stocked in the shed for guest use. Upstairs loft-style bedroom is spacious and open to the rest of the cabin with an attached bath. The entire space is bright, open and airy, with views of the lake and Chena Hills beckoning you outside.
Amazing aurora views right from the back deck. Come stay with us, you'll love it!

About the host
Hosted by Johanna Ray
I am originally from Canada, and moved to Alaska 20 years ago with the love of my life. We enjoy traveling as a family and try to treat our guests how we like to be treated while away from home. We love hosting!
Why they chose this property
My husband is a pilot, and I also grew up flying with my pilot father. We love the waterfront location and the unique glimpse into Alaskan culture that is offered by this neighborhood.
What makes this property unique
The waterfront location, combined with the log cabin vibe & aviation neighbors makes this stay very uniquely Alaskan!
