We got to watch every sunset from the balcony and the sea turtles everyday were a step away, it was fantastic! With Tammy and Debbie’s communication being so fast and hospitable, I’d stay here again in a heartbeat!

Beautiful ocean front property

Great condo. Very well maintained and exactly as advertised. Loved the extras provided-luxurious beach towels, sand chairs, beach umbrella, boogie boards, cooler. Kitchen was well stocked and all furnishings were wonderful. No A/C , no problem, as the constant sea breeze kept rooms comfortable day and night.

Condo was great. 2 beach chairs, cooler, umbrella, and boogie boards were waiting on us along with 2 large beach towels. Bed was very comfortable. We enjoyed the chocolate covered macadamia nuts left for us in the fridge. We would stay here again!

Maui magic

We had the most beautiful view from our lanai. We were able to see and swim with the sea turtles right in front of our condo. The sea turtles are in front of our condo morning, noon and night. Incredibly neat! We watched whales jump from the water in the distance. We were within walking distance to small shops and beaches. Pictures do not do justice to how beautiful this place is. Our condo was updated and very clean. We will definitely visit Makani Sands again.

The. Waves are loud!

My husband, daughter and I enjoyed our stay. My daughter slept on the pull-out sofa. She thought it was comfortable and the mattress seemed new to me. Our bed was comfortable as well. If you’d like to be close to the water this is the place. The noise from the waves covered my husband’s snoring and made for a good nights sleep for my daughter. I did miss not having AC, the evening was fine, but getting ready to go out was not ideal. Good location on the island. We were able to get an additional chair and beach towel from Tammy which was appreciated.

Honeymoon in Paradise

My husband and I stayed at Makani Sands for our honeymoon and it did NOT disappoint! Everyone was so friendly from staff, to the other residents/visitors. The pool area was well maintained, clean, and heated. Plenty of lounge chairs to sit or lay in the sun or shade. Nice shower area to remove sand from the beaches. Bed was comfy and the whole unit was clean and comfortable. The view from the lanai was wonderful and quiet. Turtles come up to feed each day, and the wall against the waves has tons of other sea life. Grilling area was a super nice touch. Lots of things to do in walking distance as well. Only complaint was not having AC, but luckily the breeze through the windows was enough to cool down at night. The toughest part with that was having the bedroom window next to the stairway open, lots of noise. We will be back to enjoy again!

The view of Lanai and Molokai is priceless and we enjoyed watching whales from our Lanai. This unit is well equipped, including a cooler and Ice packs in the freezer. The sofa bed and king bed are both comfortable. Love the new washer and dryer in this unit. And the exhaust fan in the bathroom even works great (in so many places that is not true). There is a wonderful breeze that flows from the front to the back of this unit so no air conditioning is needed. Also love the power screen that lowers to shield the lanai from the west sun in the afternoon. The management at Makani Sands is on top of everything and very responsive. Can't wait to return.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I have stayed at many of the condo resorts along this stretch in Honokowai and Makani Sands is my favorite. It is a small building and beautifully maintained inside and out. Tammy and Debbie, the managers, make you feel like you are part of the Makani Sands family. I loved having the door to our lanai open with the breeze blowing through, lights on, TV on, and a box of macademia chocolates waiting in the refrigerator when we checked in. Unit 209 is very well maintained. I found the sofa bed to be comfortable for the 9 days that I slept on it and my friend said the bed was wonderful. If you love watching whales, go during whale season--January to March--and you will see them from this lanai. I immediately booked this unit again for next year. This unit books up fast, so don't hesitate long. While this is absolutely a 5 star review, I do wish that the lanai had some kind of chairs other than the tall ones for the table because we found those chairs to be fine for eating but uncomfortable for sitting any length of time.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We stayed in Unit 209. The unit was very clean. The view is amazing. There is a small beach where you can swim and snorkel. It is within walking distance (about 15 minutes) to shops,restaurants and a grocery store. There is no air conditioning so you want to keep your windows open. However the bedroom is situated where people walk so you may want to bring earplugs. I slept on the sofa bed. Let the rental property know if you are going to use the sofa bed and request clean and washed sheets. I asked about extra bedding before I arrived and there was a package of new sheets (still in the package) They smelled really bad so I needed to wash the sheets before I slept on them (late at night) Also the sofa bed could use an extra foam topper to make it super comfortable. Wifi was spotty in the bedroom but fine out in the living room. Communication with Tammy was easy. I definitely would stay again.

Could use some freshening up such as clean/replace carpet in bedroom, clean area rug in living area and a new coat of paint. Also need to move painting The grounds were well kept and the location very close to everything. Overall we enjoyed our stay.
