Come relax and let all your worries float away as you relax while listening to a babbling creek. Warm your toes with a crackling fire, as you watch the sun slowly dip behind the mountains.

Keep your eyes keenly attentive to the many opportunities to see wildlife at its best. It is very common as you pour your first cup of coffee, to see a bald eagle perched in a tree across the creek. Nearby a deer is going about it's daily activities unaware of your presence, and trout finding its first meal of the day in the clear water just off the edge of the bank.

This cottage features a fully equipped kitchen with many on hand ingredients ready to whip up your favorite meal. Comfortable living room with a leather sleeper sofa, flat screen T.V., as well as a gas wood stove to take the chill out of those chilly nights. A cozy bedroom with a queen size bed, nice size bath with freshly washed towels and linens.

Attractions: Centrally located to many interests, Finger Lakes Wineries, Breweries, Beautiful Golf Courses, high class restaurants, Trout fishing, Hiking, and endless amount of state land for hiking and bird watching.

Peaceful get away

Fantastic location close to Owego and Ithaca. Visited Watkins Glen for a day of hiking and wineries. Home was very clean and well stocked. Peaceful location.

Everything We Needed

Looking out across the Owego Creek it felt as if we were miles away from everyone and everything, yet we were only two miles from the Village of Owego. Cabin was upscale with a beautiful kitchen stocked with every possible necessity. Lovely and relaxing!

We wanted to decompress and celebrate my husband's 75th anniversary. Not looking for any adventures. Beauty surrounds this cottage inside and out. Sitting on the deck listing to the babling creek and numerous birds is so relaxing. We had a cardinal vist ever day pecking at the window! The cottage is very comfortable and extremely well stocked. Be careful of the step dow into the bedroom. Only lwft to go to the close grocery store to stock up and quick trip for some wine. Otherwise is was a wonderful week for us old folks.
He visted every day twice a day!

Perfect retreat

The cottage on Owego Creek couldn’t have been more enjoyable. It was beautifully appointed, and the owners have thought of every comfort that they can provide. The location was excellent with lots of hiking, antiquing and even summer ice cream close by. It was a birder’s delight. Tara communicated thoughtfully and promptly. It is the most lovingly put together vacation rental we’ve had the joy of staying in. We went as a couple but can’t wait to return with our kids.

Cozy cottage

The cottage was nice and cozy for a small family. My kids and the dog loved the creek next to the property. The place is clean and I especially appreciated that the kitchen had pretty much everything. Even some herbs you might not think would be there. Just a tip: there’s no WiFi (which we knew) and there are DVDs available but if you have young children, either bring their device if they have one or bring DVDs of kiddie movies as the selection they have are mostly for grown-ups. There aren’t many good places to eat in the area, which we didn’t mind as we cooked for the most part.

This listing over delivered on our expectations! This was our first vrbo, and we were just looking for a spot in the country where we could enjoy nature with our four legged children. The scenery was fantastic, beautiful sunrises and sunsets, sightings of large bald eagles and tiny hummingbirds, and the creek provided the perfect soundtrack. The inside was well decorated and modern, very clean, and provided us everything we needed for our stay. I cannot say enough good things about this place, and the Hosts were easy to work with and answer questions if needed. The perfect place for our getaway!

We really enjoyed our stay! The house is adorable, clean, and had everything we needed. Sitting out on the deck and listening to the creek was so peaceful and relaxing! The creek also felt amazing to sit in on a hot day after a long hike. We ate all our meals outside, surrounded by the singing birds, and a perfect breeze! Our dog Russell had a really good time too!!!

Perfect Peaceful Getaway

My husband and I stayed here for our first anniversary trip and we have never had a more peaceful relaxing vacation. I loved sitting out on the deck listening to the creek and birds and seeing all the fireflies at night. The town of Owego is charming. We did some great day trips to go hiking at Watkins Glen State Park and Robert Treman Park. Both were amazing. I highly recommend staying here if you’re looking for peace and quiet—you won’t regret it! Thanks Nate and Tara!
