Love the Beal Beach House and that's why we come back every year. It's great in the summer but the way the house is laid out with all the windows facing north and west the view from inside the house is fantastic all year round. We'll be back next year!

Comfortable home, amazing location!

This is truly an old-school beach house stay—the home is comfortable, well-kept-up and has so many wonderful touches that lend a family feel (particularly the ship log and spotting scope set up). Sunrise and sunset are both visible from the ample deck, and the beach access is incredible. Highly recommend.

Peaceful

Another wonderful time together as a family. Enjoyed the beach, water, birds, sealife, paddleboarding, kayaking, spikeball, walking the beach. Beautiful home, well taken care of with many improvements. This was our ninth year and it feels like home, so warm and comfortable. Can't wait to go back.

Second Home

Another wonderful time! This house is so clean and comfortable. Kayaking, paddle boarding, walking the beach, watching the porpoise, seals, eagles, and we even had a whale pass by in June. Love it! Can't wait to go back.

Beautiful beach!!

We loved it & had a wonderful time. Beautiful beach house!! It was strange that the blinds did not close in all three of the bedrooms, they are all about 5 inches short. We felt like we were flashing the neighbors the whole week.

Beautiful Beach House

We really enjoyed our week in Hansville. The beach is beautiful, with lots of fun walks to the lighthouse to keep the kids busy & driftwood to play with. The house was very clean & well appointed. Our kids loved the bunk bed room with books/games/movies. We all loved the amazing views from the great room! With the huge windows we felt like we were on the bow of a ship. It was fun to watch the array of boat traffic & sea life. We liked the fire pit, even though it was only 30 degrees, the kids had fun roasting marshmallows. We also really enjoyed the HansGrill cafe/deli/general store just down the road. They had delicious food, local microbrews/wine & big TVs to watch football in a cozy atmosphere. It was very hard to leave and we look forward to visiting again soon.

The most beautiful sandy beach in the Northwest. We loved walking to the lighthouse and Hansgrill, watching all the cool shipping traffic, exploring tide pools, building bonfires and driftwood forts (South of lighthouse). Can’t wait to visit again. Thanks for all the fun.

Cozy cabin with great view!

We had another great stay at the beach! Feels far from the big city without a long travel time. Great bakery and cafe grill in town, plus Kingston just a short drive away. But the best is just sitting in the cozy living room watching the ships pass by!

Cute, cozy house with beach access, close to the lighthouse, quiet and peaceful. There was a great little bakery down the street and a county park by the lighthouse with trails and wildlife viewing. Very nice place to disconnect.

Beale Beach property fantastic find

This property is exactly as advertised only better! This is the second time in five months we have stayed here and love it. A perfect location for enjoying the Hansville area and watching the marine traffic and fauna. Our only glitch was one that has been identified by others - problems with the heating system. Other credit - the owner/manager Kristie, was expedient in contacting repair people who came first thing on Monday morning and who fixed the faulty capacitor on blower motor — only to have it quit again by Thursday. I feel bad for her because she was definitely receptive to the problem and tried to take care of it in a timely manner. . Other than the heating problem (there are space heaters for every room that helped) — nothing else was a problem. It is a premium spot and we will be back again before next season! Thanks for everything Kristie! Trish and John

Another fantastic stay at Beals Beach House!

This was our 5th year at Beals and we loved it again. Caught two salmon off the beach which we enjoyed for dinner. Miles of beach walking, hours sitting on the beach with our books. The place is always clean and comfortable with all the amenities you need to relax, and cook great meals. We look forward to more vacations at Beals!

2024 Year 8

Have been taking my 3 grandchildren here for the past 8 years. They love it! From searching for sea life at low tide, swimming on incoming tides, walking the beach down past the lighthouse and just relaxing on the beach. Every year I ask if they would like to try somewhere else and they say NO! This has become our tradition. Already reserved for next year.

Such a relaxing, comfortable home. My children and I so needed this time away from the busy life. Thoroughly enjoyed our time, paddle boarding, kayaking, campfires, kan jam, cards, walks on the beach, etc. The house is so clean and comfortable and has all we need. Looking forward to going back.

About the host

Hello and welcome to Beal Beach House. My name is Kristie Lodmell and I grew up in Walla Walla, Washington, where my family continues to farm and grow grapes for our family winery Lodmell Cellars. I graduated from the University of Oregon where I majored in biology and first worked at the U of O Molecular Biology Institute where I researched Drosophila (fruit fly) genetics. The experience later led me to work in biotechnology sales in the Pacific Rim, Asia. In 2009, I joined the family winery and to this day manage operations, sales and the Lodmell Cellars Tasting Room located in the historic Marcus Whitman Hotel in downtown Walla Walla.
I have fond childhood memories of Beal's Beach House. I learned how to salmon fish with my dad and berry pick with my mom. Jumping into the waves after a freighter passed by, playing in the sand, and exploring the low tide flats were always favorite things to do with my brother and beach friends! I know you will enjoy this magical place.

Why they chose this property

Dr. Tearle Beal built 'Beal's Beach House' in 1978 as a family get-away from the City. Tearle graduated from the University of Washington School of Dentistry with my father, Dr. Miles Lodmell. Tearle was always part of our extended family and we traveled to Point No Point from Walla Walla every summer during my childhood. Tearle passed away in 2001 and my family purchased the property from his Estate. Our family continues to hold onto special memories of Tearle and Beal's Beach House. The place is magical and we are so happy to open up the place for others to enjoy!

What makes this property unique

I have fond childhood memories of Beal's Beach House. I learned how to salmon fish with Tearle and berry pick with mom. Jumping into the waves after a freighter passed by, playing in the sand, and exploring the tide flats at low tide were always favorite things to do with my brother and beach friends! The beautiful views of Mt. Baker and the Cascade Mountain Range are stunning. I still love to sit on the beach with a good book, and sift the unique gray sand through my toes at water’s edge. There’s a great fire pit for roasting hotdogs and eating s'mores, one of our family tradition’s at the beach.
