Everything went smoothly. Nice house and surroundings. Ideal for explorations in all directions. We highly recommend Calum's Seal Trips, a tour to the Isle of Sky or the Croft Cafe where you can also do a Coo Tour. It was lovely staying in quiet little Dornie. The Pub next door has very good food and live music on Tue/Thu.The house is well equipped and it was really helpful to be able to do the laundry being on a roadtrip. Beds were very comfy.the best: take pictures of Eilean Donan Castle at various times of day and night.
The perfect cottage, the perfect base for exploring the western isles!
A great little cottage, beautifully presented , wedged between two delightful pubs and within walking distance of Eilean Donan Castle. A great base from which to explore the Isle of Skye. Warm, comfortable and everything you need to relax after a day of exploring. Dornie is a magical little village and certainly one to come back to. Thanks to our hosts for making everything so easy.
My family of 5 adults stayed for 3 nights. The home is very clean and has everything you need for an enjoyable stay. All the beds are comfortable, even the pull-out sofa bed. The kitchen is well stocked with plenty of room for a sit-down dinner. The pub next door has good food and drink with live music on some evenings. The castle is a short walk away with guided tours, gift shop and cafe. The whole area is beautiful, and this home is a great place for a home base.
Great family rental in convenient picturesque location.
We really enjoyed staying at this house as a base for our time on Skye.
The house was really comfortable for the 4 of us, and we felt right at home. All of the appliances and amenities were exactly as described.
The hosts communicated well before and during the trip and we were able to get into the rental with ease.
Having the Clachan pub next door and the Dornie Hotel just over the road was perfect for us to get a meal or a drink as we came back from a day out. Waking up and going for a stroll while seeing the castle nearby was a hi-light.
This is the perfect base for visiting the area, as the nearby entertainment options did not dissapoint.
We had a fantastic time at this cottage in Dornie! The kitchen was nicely provisioned, the bathroom was just fabulous, the bedrooms were very comfortable and the location was perfect as a base to visit the highlands! Our experience really couldn’t have been any better!
Es ist ein schönes gemütliches Haus, mit einer super Ausstattung.
Der Ausblick auf das Castle ist einfach perfekt.
Die Kommunikation mit den Eigentümern war reibungslos.
The house is much bigger than it appears on line and it is well equipped. It was very clean and the beds and sofa extremely comfortable.
Although we knew that the house was next to a pub, the pub has changed hands and now has covered outdoor seated area at each side of their main entrance. The pub is doing very well and was constantly busy. We ate at the pub one night and the food was excellent. We also had pizzas from Pizza Jo (across the bridge) which was a nice experience.
The location is fabulous for access to Skye, Plockton and wonderful local walks etc but sadly there is a single storey bed and breakfast directly opposite the house obstructing the views. To enjoy the views you need to be outside the property. There is a table and chairs we used at the side of the house.
We were able to park outside the house every day and stored our kayaks in the rear passageway.
Thank you for accommodating us and for the kind bottle of fizz which was much appreciated.
Ideally located cottage for our family wedding. Spacious and clean including a well-stocked kitchen with all the glasses, dishes and cooking equipment we needed. Easy access to the Loch for watersports and parking at the door. Excellent food at both the Clachan Pub and Waterside restaurant at the Dornie Hotel, both next door to the cottage.
Good location for exploring surrounding area including Isle of Skye, ten minute walk to Eilean Donan Castle. Property comfortable with everything you need.

Great location
My daughter and I loved this property. We stayed 3 nights. The location was great - close to Isle of Skye, near the Eileen Donan castle, right next door to the pub selling great food ( but quiet) and lovely walking. The property was clean, and had everything we needed. I would definitely stay here again.

Great “home base” for the Isle of Skye!
Very cozy place to stay when exploring the Isle of Skye! Well appointed and apparently newly-remodeled kitchen! Owners very responsive and kind. Doesn’t hurt that there’s a pub next door that has excellent local fare and pints to accompany. Nearby hotel (next door in the other direction) also has good variety of local meals (and pints).

Beautiful, great location and a fully equipped kitchen.
Comfortable house, very cosy and homely. Decor lovely. Lots of extras provided, which was a surprise eg dishwasher tablets, fairy liquid, detergent and softener. One small thing to make it perfect would be a few more coat-hangers. We have had a great week and enjoyed the Cava.

Great accommodation good location. Perfect for hillwalking base
Excellent location and base for hillwalking holiday. Having the pub next door saved having to cook. Having the barbecue was great for cooking outside on the sunny days.

A perfect spot to tour Skye and Applecross
We searched for a self catering place in the isle of Skye and are happy to say that we have found a superb house!
The location: the house is quiet yet - a short walk away and we have found ourselves at the entrance to the Eilean Donan castle. Dornie is well placed as a starting point for any Skye trip but also for the Applecross peninsula. We have found it a much better location than at some place on the island, where one has to drive quite a lot to reach other locations
The pub: right next to the house is the Slachan pub : a charming small local pub with great atmosphere and nice visitors. We highly recommend it!
The house: the place is roomy - a family of 5 easily fit inside. Everything was in order and felt clean and new. When we cooked - it was as if we are the first to use the kitchen. The bathroom is modern and new - I have to say that it was beyond our expectations - the pictures do not do right to the place. It is much better than the images on the vrbo site.
Beyond kitchen and bath - we had fun playing with the board games and watching TV. A very pleasant stay!
The hosts: Bernadette and Douglas did all they could to make our stay a pleasure - we have not met them but they have even sent Doug's brother to bring us a present!
Overall - a perfect base to travel in the area!

Lovely home away from home
We booked very last minute and didn't have to travel too far. Eilean Donan View was a great base to explore this part of the West Coast of Scotland. Located in the village of Dornie, it was a 10 minute walk over to the stunning Eilean Donan Castle. Newly refurbished to a very high standard throughout the cottage had all the facilities that made for a comfortable stay with free Wi-Fi (we couldn't get a mobile phone signal within the cottage itself). Beds were very comfortable, lovely bed linen and towels - the bathroom was fab with a huge walk-in shower and Victorian bath. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything required to cook and eat in but we went next door to the Clachan Pub & Restaurant to eat on 2 nights - lovely food and staff (and only about 6 steps away from our cottage!!). There is a small shop/post office in Dornie which was well stocked and friendly. We visited Kyle of Lochalsh - very nearby, Plockton which was beautiful and also nearby. We met Calum who runs boat-trips out of Plockton and although we didn't manage a trip to see the seals this time we will make sure we go with him on our next visit - a very friendly man with a great sense of humour. We also went to Applecross which was an adventure going up the steep, winding roads but the views were breath-taking and we saw loads of deer! We also had a day trip over to Portree in Skye which is well worth a visit. We would highly recommend a stay in this cottage and will definitely visit again.
