About this property
An Teallach luxury holiday home in Cairngorm National Park - Wifi
An-Teallach is a superb holiday home from home in the beautiful forest village of Nethy Bridge in the heart of the Scottish Highlands, Cairngorms National Park.
Our holiday home has been renovated to a very high standard and is warm and welcoming with 5 bedrooms set out to sleep 10 people. It is situated a 10 minute walk from the centre of the village of Nethy Bridge in the Abernethy Forest. It is surrounded by natural Caledonian Forest which is part of the RSPB Loch Garten Nature Reserve where the first pair of Ospreys returning to Britain successfully bred. Set in a quiet location amongst the trees we have been very lucky to have a range of the local wildlife visiting on a regular basis including deer, squirrels, pheasants, pine martin and several different bird species including woodpeckers, owls, crested tits and treecreepers to name but a few.
There are great walks and bike rides from the house and the Speyside way runs not far from the house. In the village centre there is a local convenience shop, butchers, hotel and bar, playing fields, tennis courts and children's play park.
We have visited the area year after year and totally love all it has to offer from the breath-taking scenery, local wildlife, outdoor activities and attractions. All year round there is so much to see and do. You can go walking, mountain biking, skiing, horse riding, golfing, fishing, malt whisky trail, bird-watching and much more! There is certainly something for everyone! Nethy Bridge is very central and is easy accessible to the large range of activities and attractions available.
An Teallach is very spacious inside with high ceilings and lots of natural light and also benefits from an extensive private garden area. It would suit larger families or more than one family getting together. The house is owned privately and our aim is to make sure that your stay is really relaxed and comfortable and you enjoy staying in our holiday home as much as we do!

We had a family reunion in the area. The house was absolutely perfect: spotlessly clean, super comfortable, great location for highlands hiking and sightseeing. We had a fantastic trip and couldn’t be happier with An Teallach.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at An Teallach, the house is lovely great for extended family - especially the snug that let teens have their own space. It’s in quiet area and very handy for getting to major locations. The host Elaine was super responsive, house is equipped with everything you could need with some lovely little touches for a cosy October stay
We had a lovely stay at this fantastic house in February. It was spotlessly clean, massive and close to Aviemore and Speyside distilleries. We hope to return at some point.
We had a wonderful week at An Teallach. The property was spotless and spacious and we felt very relaxed. There was plenty room for all the family and had everything we needed. The location was great with its own private garden just outside Nethy Bridge. Thanks Elaine for being so helpful.
Great house plenty space in a lovely location walking distance of farm shop Hotel and cafe
Double bed in downstairs room needs replaced. Sound on TV in main area not the best . Great house for a large party

Many thanks for your review . It is great to hear you enjoyed the house , its space, and walking into the village to enjoy all it has to offer. Appreciate the feedback on the mattress on one of the beds and the quality of the sound on the TV we will definitely look into this.
Thoroughly enjoyed our family stay here. The house and location are fantastic. The property is very spacious and well equipped for a large group. Communication with the owner was responded to very quickly. Whilst the house is great for family holidays, there are no facilities for the very young such as cots and high chairs, but we brought our own gear so wasn’t really a problem. Would highly recommend this property in the beautiful Nethy Bridge.
We had a fantastic one week stay for half term. Elaine was very helpful and accommodating from the moment we booked and even after we had left the property. The house was perfect and comfortably fit 10 people and 2 dogs. When we arrived she had left us some lovely little treats for both the humans and dogs.
We were able to visit lots of places around the local area easily and go further afield to places such as Loch Ness.
We would highly recommend staying at this house and visiting this stunning area.
A very spacious house for 10 people. Five large bedrooms and a huge kitchen/dining/living room as well as a snug! The House has everything you need. Nethy Bridge is a gorgeous village. We’ve been coming to the Cairngorms for 30 years (minus 2 years during lockdown). There is so much to do and see and An Teallach is a perfect base. Highly recommended!
Impressive Forest property, great quality and loads of room
I was brought up near here so the location and area are not knew to me.
We usually stay in Speyside but “Sturgeon Tax “ means our usual holiday house was a taken off the market. How naive is that of a Government.
Set in woodlands at Nethy bridge, it was the perfect house for 10 of us. So much to do within 30min drive of the house that suited children and adults alike. Walks around lochs and Landmark forest theme park as well as feeding reindeer and seeing polar bears at highland wildlife park. The grounds of the house were large enough to play games and inside a generous kitchen and large sitting room that we could settle down on an evening with a film. The large table was perfect to seat 10 and use as a games table after meals. All the group have said they had a brilliant time
Lovely property, very spacious, clean and convenient. Having so many bathrooms was a real benefit!
Facilities were great, it was excellent to have the utility room with an extra fridge too.
Only one slight disappointment; based on other reviews, I thought there would be every pot, pan and cooking utensil imaginable. There were a couple of things I missed: a wok and a steamer would have come in very handy. But there was decent cookware and we made do fine.
I would just say that a week really isn't long enough and we hope to return for two weeks another time.

Would certainly stay here again, clean and very well stocked. Would highly recommend this rental!
Unlike most rentals we have stayed in over the last 16 years we walked into this delightful home and did not feel we had to clean first! The kitchen did indeed have all that we needed for making our meals, we ate at the Boat of Garten Inn and Restaurant one evening which had great food, and plenty of it! For those from the USA this house has both a drip coffee maker and French Press. The ground floor is all one level and has a spacious en suite master bedroom, somewhat separate from the main living areas. All bedrooms are tastefully decorated in clean airy colours, with a mass of storage space. The mountain pictures on various walls are spectacular! There were thick duvets/quilts/comforters on beds, mattresses were firm but very comfortable. Great large laundry room. Enough of everything for 10 people. Elaine was very helpful with queries we had about nearby attractions, and quick to respond to emails. There is a local small supermarket/grocery shop/store in Nethy Bridge but we used the Tesco supermarket in Aviemore for our supplies. Despite what it says on Google there is a gas/petrol station in Aviemore!
The "welcome pack" awaiting us was a lovely surprise. We all, a party of 10, ranging from age 13 - 76 had a wonderful holiday at this house and all would welcome a return visit. We highly recommend this rental house! Note: Elaine's brother in law does the spectacular mountain photos on the walls, look out for his brochure on the hall table.

Thank you for all your comments and it’s great to hear you enjoyed An Teallach getting together with all the family.
As the first family holiday in 3 decades my demands and expectations for everything to be just right were high. Can't imagine why I worred, Hosts wounderful, Property delightful and location 'bang on'. Everyone from 10 months to 70 plus had room to enjoy together and individually.
Thanks again for a wonderful stay in your property. Ideally situated for visiting all that Speyside has to offer. The house is very comfortable and has everything you need for a great holiday.
The house was fantastic and the host was also excellent. Plus the village itself was great. The whole family went to the Nethy Cafe 4 times for breakfast as it was so good. Would go back again in a heartbeat

About the host
Hosted by Elaine Robson
We are a Scottish family who have been visiting the Cairngorm area year on year since our kids were very young . So when we got the opportunity to buy An Teallach when we we posted abroad in Tanzania for 3 years, we jumped at it. We currently live and work in Aberdeenshire.
Why they chose this property
We purchased An-Teallach in 2014 and used it as a holiday home while posted abroad. Since 2015 We have been back in Scotland and I have been renting An Teallach to guests since 2016. We use the property regularly for family holidays and get togethers. It is very well equipped and the fixtures and fittings are high quality. The number of shower rooms is exceptional and should meet everyone's needs!
What makes this property unique
If you are looking to get away from it all this is the ideal place for you . Set in the Cairngorm National Park it is peaceful and private yet within a short distance of Aviemore and the surrounding Highlands and Islands.
