Please read our full description below: The Tree Tops Cottages is a small family friendly resort located on the Southern end of South Hero on a private 7+ acre property with over 920 feet of direct frontage on Lake Champlain. Originally built in the 1920's, there are only 4 privately sited cottages on the whole 7.5 acre property. Multiple generational families have been coming to Tree Tops Cottages for decades. It may be possible to rent 2, 3 or 4 cottages at the same time for a family reunion. Each unique cottage is restored in the rustic Vermont Camp style, and offers great lake views. This is not a luxury resort, rather a down home, friendly, relaxing place only 20 minutes to Burlington. The gradual shale beach is weed free and is rare (for Lake Champlain) due to the fact that it is south facing, which affords all day sunshine and protection from cool northerly breezes. The 'Outer Malletts Bay' lake location offers warmer and calmer water than the 'Broad Lake'. We will allow 1 pet per cottage with a surcharge.

We enjoyed our stay at Tree Tops Cottage. We stayed at the North View cottage and it was great for me my wife and 11 year old. Beautiful view of the lake for the front porch and the owner was very nice. Close to Snow Farm Vineyard where the wedding was located and a beautiful scenery all around.
We booked a three day stay at Tree Tops while visiting the Burlington area. The stay exceeded our expectations. Skip and Barbara were great hosts, providing information before we traveled and greeting us at check in. The property is well cared for and maintained with a beautiful location, great views, and water access. Our cottage was charming and comfortable. Would definitely return and plan a longer stay.
We came to Vermont to see Dr. Dog on their last tour. We stayed at Tree Tops Cottages (North Bay View) for a few days and it was magical. We brought our small dog with us and she also had a great time exploring along the beach and in the kayak. The cottage was perfect - lots of space for us to relax and take naps while listening to the breeze in the trees and across the lake. Really a perfect getaway! Thanks so much!
Quaint cabin on waters of Lake Champlain
Enjoyed sitting on porch listening to waves lap against the shore, exploring the amazing rock formations on the beaches, kayaking along the bluffs
Perfect location for us to relax
Cottage was cozy, nice view of the lake. Boats chairs and hammocks available to relax along the shore. 20 minutes to Burlington with lots of great restaurants.
Spending a week in our Tree Tops Resort cottage was just what we needed after a year of COVID confinement. South Hero, VT is one of our favorite places to vacation. Happy to add Tree Tops to our list of favorite accommodations! We'll be back.
All in one place. Very natural rusty settings. Boating and fishing all in one place. Had great time with family. Very friendly owners! Love to visit again
Super clean, great hosts, beautiful location, fun kayaks. Had initially planned to go out in Burlington for dinner but did not want to leave...dinner on the porch was perfect.
Tree Tops was above and beyond our expectations. If you are looking for a private cottage get away surrounded by the beauty of Lake Champlain- Tree Tops will not disappoint.
We stayed for 4 nights at the very end of September, so the weather was cool for swimming- but still possible. Our cabin was comfortable and well equipped- the kitchen was much better equipped than most rentals we have done in the past. Basic bathroom (stall shower), which was fine (it’s a lakefront cottage). There’s a heater for chilly days , ceiling fans for ventilation, many windows for air and light, sunny and bright sun porch, and an easy walk to the beach. The spot was perfect for us- some water time, some boat time, some curling up with a book because it was raining... a very nice rental with friendly, helpful, outstanding hosts. Totally want to go back. Thanks, Chip & Barbara!!

Intimate, peaceful location!
My husband and I booked a trip to Vermont to see our family member run in the Burlington Marathon. The location of Tree Top is about 20 minutes from Burlington. It is perfect because you are close enough so that you can can enjoy the many activities that Burlington has to offer but far enough away to really enjoy being on Lake Champlain and in nature. The Point Cottage was rustic with stunning views. This location was perfect for us because it is dog friendly and we were able to bring our 2 year old pup with us on the family vacation. Skip was a great host. I highly recommend the Tree Top cottages if you are looking for a serene place right on Lake Champlain.

Great Stay
We had a wonderful short stay at TreeTops. Skip and Barbara were most welcoming and the cottage met the needs of the three of us (me, my adult daughter, and my 90 year old mother) very well. Lovely views, comfortable cottage, and very close to Colchester where my older daughter lives--we will be back!

Perfect little getaway
My teenage son and I decided to have a mini-vacation together. The cottages evoke the era of a bygone time, yet are clean and have everything one would need. I love the little dining table nook. The site is very picturesque and has a perfect "beach" for skipping stones. I enjoyed the kayaks one afternoon. The proximity to Burlington and Winooski mean that dining is not an issue if you don't feel like cooking every night. Skip and Barb are very gracious hosts. We fully intend to go back!
