About this property

A unique and stunningly beautiful private property of 40 acres total on Vashon (Maury) Island: a quiet, private, tranquil, rural : an 8 acre grassy field overlooking Puget Sound with a gorgeous south-facing view of Mt. Rainier. The event space borders on a one acre pond visited by eagles, herons, ducks and geese and is surrounded by forest. The fabulous view, privacy and beauty make this a place to celebrate a very special event. Ideal for outdoor weddings reunions, large pic-nics, barbecues, memorials, corporate events, film production, photography, etc. A picturesque mansion overlooks the field (currently not available for event use).

On-site parking, 220/30 amp power and water. Potential for arrival/departure by boat or sea plane (i.e. after a wedding for the bride and groom). There is a small airport on the island for landing private planes, as well.

Cars arrive on Vashon via the Washington State Ferries from West Seattle (Fauntleroy), Southworth (Olympic Peninsula) or Tacoma (Pt. Defiance).

Tents, tables, chairs, musicians, etc. can be coordinated for you at an additional charge, or you may use your own service providers. The owners live on the property. Lisa, who manages the event space, is a ceramic artist and interior and landscape designer.

Why they chose this property

Vashon Field & Pond is a meticulously maintained family property. The large pond attracts Eagles, herons, otters, various duck species and geese. The high bank waterfront and southern exposure make for a spectacular setting. Local overnight accommodations can be arranged nearby. Point Robinson lighthouse is 1/4 mile away and it has houses that can be rented for guests that wish to stay near the venue.

What makes this property unique

An unparalleled, unique location! Private - only the main house is visible and there are no neighbors nearby. Vashon is easily accessible via ferry from Seattle, Tacoma and Southworth. Starbuck the mini pony is sometimes available to entertain children. There is ample space for activities and games, tables, tents, tables, chairs, musicians/dance floor,, and pretty much whatever else you envision.
