This is the 2nd time we stayed at this property. We had a great time, such a spacious house, beautiful lake and spending alot of our time boating and swimming.
Bonnie was really nice. It would be helpful if she had a welcome book with instructions for everything including WiFi and password. Klinger lake is a beautiful clean lake and stop by the Brewery for dinner and the staff there was very accommodating and the food was good!
We had a good stay and enjoyed sitting on the dock in the evening and watching the sunset. Grocery stores are not far away and renting the boat is recommended!
We had a great time at the lake renting this house. The owner is extremely friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. Being able to rent the pontoon boat for the week is a plus. This is the second year in a row we rented this house and has accommodated our family nicely.
The house was large with five bed rooms and 2.5 bathrooms. Nice kitchen, large table for family meals, nice location, great dock and boat was also nice. No sandy beach might be the only thing missing for the kids to play. The neighbors were all very nice and helpful. Klinger Lake is the best and this was a great place to enjoy time with the family.
We loved all the room in the house for our family. The lake off the dock is shallow, fun for the kids to swim in. They enjoyed catching fish off the dock and taking the pontoon on the lake was so relaxing. Bonnie was quick to answer all our questions. Will plan to come back next year!
This is our second year here & we will be back next year! We love how roomy the house is & the location to the lake. The lake is clean, not busy & perfect size. We also rent the boat from the owners for tubing. There is a store close to the house which is great for grabbing last minute items. I also love how the owners leave items that were left behind for new renters for example tin foil, paper plates, etc. I always leave my leftover stuff for the next renter too
This is our third year here! My teens & their friends love it! It’s a cozy, spacious home with everything you need. I love how the owners leave left over tin foil, spices, paper plates, etc. I always make sure to leave my leftover paper towels, laundry detergent, etc for the next group too. My kids love playing with all the games there too including chess, yatzee, & cards. It’s the best lake; it’s clear, perfect size & not busy. The owners are very accommodating & wonderful. My kids also love running to the corner store for whatever they need.
Klinger Lake is beautiful and clear. The family loved swimming and fishing in the lake. The house was roomy and great for a large family to gather in, eat, play games or watch tv. Very nice and helpful owners. Unfortunately, we ran into a few problems. We had booked the property, in part, because we were told that we would be able to tie our boat to the dock. Two days prior to our stay, I contacted the owner to confirm this and was told that things had changed. We would have to put augers in to tie our boat to. Because of the lake bottom, we weren't able to drive the augers in far enough to be very stable, and we were concerned that some night our boat might float away, particularly during the strong winds we experienced that week. Additionally, several of the doors to bedrooms and bathrooms would not close completely or were very hard to reopen once closed. I, literally, could not open one of the outside doors once it was closed completely. This created a safety hazard for the family. And, several of the overhead lights would not turn on and some would only come on after several tries, or sometimes if we waited several minutes. I contacted the homeowner about these concerns, and she quickly responded. She was aware of these issues.
The homeowners were very nice and met us at check in. The lake was beautiful and the house roomy, but we were disappointed that the "challenges" we encountered had not been disclosed to us prior to renting the property.
Bonnie and Morrie’s house is so spacious! We had 7 adults and 2 children and had plenty of room. The bedrooms are good size and having 3 bathrooms was a plus. The water was perfect for kids as far as being shallow. The boat is brand new! The lake is pretty big and beautiful! We already booked for next year!
We had the best time at Bonnie & Morrie’s home & lake. My husband & I along with our kids & their friends between the ages of 12-20 had plenty of room in the house to spread out & not feel on top of each other. It was so nice to have additional items left from other guests like tin foil, plates, etc. I also left all of our extras like cups, dishwasher soap, etc for the next guests. The house feels like a home with games, footballs, coolers, etc. The neighbors are all really nice too. Klinger Lake is the nicest, cleanest lake we have ever been in! It’s also the perfect size & not overcrowded! Can’t wait to go back next year!
Our family stayed for a full week and had a great time. Bonnie the owner was great to work with and very communicative. The house is an older house but was very roomy and has a great sunset on the lake. Also, having the ability to rent the offered pontoon was a huge plus. It is a newer boat with plenty of room and pulled our kids tubing and wakeboarding no problem. My only negative comment about the property is the WIFI. Very spotty and slow. If you. are looking for that original cottage feel with a lot of room this is the place for you.
We had a great time. Large house, so room for everyone. Very well stocked and nice and clean home. Great pontoon boat. Good to pull tubes with too. Lots of small fish, but we enjoyed them all.
My friends and I have started an annual tradition of renting a cottage for just us MOMS. No kids and no husbands. This was our fourth trip, but second time on Klinger Lake. It’s the same lake my Great Aunt owned a cottage on and I spent summers with her and tons of cousins. It’s the best lake in Michigan!!
Bonnie’s cottage gave us room to spread out, have our own bedrooms and was well appointed with all the necessities. It was a super hot week, but the air conditioners worked fantastically and when the heat broke, we enjoyed the breezes off the lake. The sunsets are amazing and we spent almost every day of our 10 days in and on the water.
We hoping to book Bonnie’s cottage next summer as well. (And maybe we will bring a kid or two. After their HS graduations next June!!)
We were charmed by this home. The owners have done a beautiful job with decorating, and we also appreciated the well stocked kitchen. Beds all have memory foam, which most of us require these days! Some of us kayaked for the first time in our lives. We arrived after a tornado tore through the community, but this house mostly missed the damages. The owners were able to get all of the yard debris picked up before we arrived. We had great weather and really enjoyed the screened in porch. Lots of games and puzzles too. Thanks very much for allowing us to use your lovely home.
Big, older lakehouse with lots of room for large family. Except for a grease fire while using the outdoor grill (the pan had evidently not been scrapped clean for a while), we had a great family time on beautiful Klinger Lake. The owners were very responsive and communicated promptly. The only downside is that although we did not check in until past the 4pm checkin time, the house did not feel fully cleaned and we had to clean/re-clean the floors (we had a "crawling" toddler with us) and the bathrooms. Otherwise, everything was great.
We rented this home for our family's summer vacation. The house had plenty of room for the nine of us and we felt very comfortable in our home away from home.
This is not a new house but it has been updated throughout. It has a boiler heating system and therefore can't accommodate central A/C. There are floor standing window units in most rooms to keep the heat down, and four of the bedrooms were very comfortable for sleeping.
Adding in the pontoon boat for those late day lake cruises was relaxing after fishing and tubing all afternoon. I brought my own fishing boat for those activities and was able to launch it from the street right next to the house.
The lake was almost like bath water and the sandy bottom made swimming in it a required activity. The kids also liked paddling around in the kayaks. And there was plenty of fishing activity right from the dock.
This home has everything you could ask for to spend a week or more in. All in all, a good time was had by all!
Loved being so close to the lake! You can hear the water lapping while you sleep. The house is large so can very comfortably fit many people. We rented the pontoon boat which was the key! Klinger Lake is so beautiful and to be on the lake, morning to evening, made the trip even that much better. We had a wonderful week and have many happy memories!
We had a family vacation and decided on this property. The large living room was great for watching movies in the evening, and the enclosed back porch was perfect for sunsets. The lake itself provided boating and fishing which some of us took advantage of. Everyone was very happy with the stay.

Why they chose this property
This property is located on one of the nicest lakes in the area. I fell in love with Klinger Lake and would rent various cottages on the lake for many years. I finally purchased this home in 1990. Living in Chicago can be a bit chaotic and once we arrived here on a Friday evening, the world just seem to slow down and it was so soothing and relaxing.
What makes this property unique
The Lake house is an older home with many unique characteristics. We have had so many good times here, it is just full of memories for us. The size of the house and the number of bedrooms allowed us to have many guests at one time. The sunsets here are breathtaking and one is never the same. I have been to Haiwaii many times and the sunsets here rival any that I have seen there.
