We love staying at Eagles Landing. This was our second time staying here and plan on returning again. There's nothing so serene as sitting on the deck and watching a pair of bald eagles across the way in the trees or soaring majestically over the mountains. And the owners do a great job keeping the place in tip top shape both inside and out!
This property was absolutely amazing! The views are gorgeous! Very quiet and comfy. Easy travel distance to cherokee. We will definitely be booking again.
This was our third visit to these cabins and once again it was a stellar stay!! The view is one of a kind, the cabins are warm and inviting and leave you feeling right at home.
Great views and we have already booked our return. Michelle and Shannon are wonderful hosts and we’re so glad they are willing to share their little piece of “paradise “!
This property has everything for a perfect vacation: views of the Tuckaseegee River and Great Smoky Mountains, conveniently located to downtown, Alarka Marina and the NOC, comfort and style! Best of all, it has end of the road privacy.
We LOVED our stay - so quiet and relaxing and the beds were incredibly comfy. The views from the deck were so wonderful we ate at the cabin most nights. Convenient to get to rafting and hiking trips and Bryson City. A great escape and highly recommend!
Beautiful location! We really enjoyed our stay. This rental was very clean and comfortable. The beds were comfortable as well. We highly recommend this cabin and if visiting the area, this is where we will stay again. The view is unbeatable! I really enjoyed everything this rental had to offer. Clarissa is super sweet and communication back and forth was superb! You will not regret staying here. We did go to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge while staying here. We enjoyed the drive there and back over the Smoky Mountains. Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge are most definitely doable, if you are considering visiting while in Bryson City. Bryson City is an adorable little city with many restaurants and things to do. This rental is highly recommended! You won't regret it!
Michelle and Shannon purchased 12 acres of raw undeveloped land in 2013 surrounded by the Nantahala National Forest. Little did they know (for the thick foliage) that they had a Million Dollar View of a Horseshoe Bend on Fontana Lake and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park! It took viewing Google Maps to see what a gem they had found. They moved to Bryson City after selling their home and printing business in Fletcher NC (close to Asheville). Shannon grew up in Bryson City, and Michelle fell in love with this "Gateway to the Smokies" town when they built a house boat at Almond Boat Park in 2013, that floats on Fontana Lake. They started building Eagle's Landing in Jan 2015 and now share it with guests from all over the world! ❤️Exciting News – A New Chapter for Our Vacation Homes! Dear Friends and Guests, We wanted to share some exciting news with you. After many wonderful years of hosting guests at our vacation homes, we’ll be passing the torch to new owners, Clarissa and Mike, who will continue welcoming visitors with the same care and hospitality that have made this place so special. We’re thrilled to know it will continue to be cared for by people who are equally committed to providing a warm, relaxing, and memorable mountain getaway. The new owners share our love for the home and the surrounding area, and they’re committed to maintaining the same comfort, charm, cleanliness, and fragrance free experience you’ve come to expect. If you already have a confirmed reservation, rest assured that everything will remain the same — everything will continue smoothly. The new owners will be in touch with any updates or introductions soon. We’re deeply grateful for every guest who has stayed, shared stories, and helped us create such wonderful memories here. It’s been our joy to host you, and we’re thrilled to know this special place will continue to bring joy to future guests for years to come. With Heartfelt Gratitude, Michelle and Shannon
Why they chose this property
There's a Peace here that we've never felt before. This place is awe - inspiring. It almost forces you to stop in your tracks every time you look outside. We built Eagle's Landing to give our guests the feeling they were floating on water...and sometimes in clouds. From the Living Room and Master Bedroom there are French Doors that open out onto a 445 sq ft (partially covered) deck that extends out over Fontana Lake. From the theatrical morning sunrise to the day's last light, where the night sky displays the Milky Way, the show this magical place performs is ever changing and always jaw dropping.
What makes this property unique
Eagle’s Landing was designed and built by local artists and craftsmen with great attention to every detail. This cabin is not wheelchair accessible, however it is one level and designed to accommodate most anyone. We call this cabin Eagle's Landing because Bald Eagles land in the pines just 30 feet away from the cabin deck. They're curious and feel very comfortable 'landing' so close to this cabin. This year (2025) we witnessed the eagles building a nest on the Hickory Flats Peninsula. This is the closest part of the park projecting out into the lake. Now you can see them year round coming and going from this peninsula! It is an unforgettable experience.
