The property was very comfortable. Air conditioning worked well, the kitchen was well appointed with a crock pot and blender among the small appliances.
We really enjoyed our stay. The home is fully equipped and a good size. The location is awesome as it is close to the pool and tennis courts and back in a secluded spot to enjoy the privacy. I would highly recommend this home.
Our family enjoyed the location and amenities of the property. Good size house for our family and was well stocked with lots of stuff so we did not have to bring so much from home. My only complaint: did not feel that the housekeeping was completed when we arrived; the towels were left in the dryer, sheets were not washed ( left in basket in front of washer) and the floors in the living area had sand on them. But we enjoyed our family time in the comfort of a nice house!
A Great House for a Family Vacation in Silver lake!
The owner was easy to reach and quick responses to questions. The home had plenty of room for our family of 5. A nice dw, laundry, refrigerator, oven and microwave. We couldn't figure out how to turn on the lights for 1 half of the ceiling in LR but that was no problem. Tv in LR has Roku, other Tv's do not pick up stations but we were not there for TV, so that was fine. Great island/counter in kitchen. Walking distance to stores and water. The carpeting in bedrooms downstairs, was heavily stained.Plenty of silverware, pots/pans,bowls and dishes. Outdoor fire pit area in back of home. We had a Great time! Thank you and can't wait to come back to Silver lake area.

Not clean. Gnat infestation, dirty carpet & musty urine smell.
The location was good but other than that it was difficult to get over how unclean it was. It didn’t seem the fridge had even been wiped out from the prior guests. Upon entering the house we were greeted with a musty/urine odor. When we took the pillow cases off the pillows were yellow/dirty. The carpets had stains all over as did the furniture. The outdoor chairs by the fire pit all had to be cleaned before we could even sit. It’s not relaxing to have to clean a house that we’re staying at that’s supposed to already be clean. And because it wasn’t clean there were a lot gnats in the kitchen and really all throughout the house.
This was our first visit to Silver Lake, and our family (20+ housed in different accommodations) had an amazing time. The house had everything one could possibly want/need in housewares, linens, etc. The coastal decorations were unique, and I imagine that some have an interesting history. Madison, property manager/owner responded immediately to any and all questions. The location was central to all recreational activities. Its location at the back of the Flora subdivision provides a quiet environment. Our family was so busy with the dunes, beaches, swimming, etc that no one had a chance to swim in the pool (sadly!). And yes, the carpets do need replacing or a good cleaning, but with the rental traffic and the pet-friendly option, I rather it is hard to keep up with carpets. Otherwise the cleanliness was fine. Since we travel with our 13+ year old, never been boarded lab, we are most appreciative to find such a wonderful accommodation.
Enjoyed the property, was more than adequate. Been in other places not as nice. Would recommend shampoo of rugs other than that was ideal. Would definitely return.
The house is in a great location and someone has really done a great job decorating the house and keeping up with the landscaping. The neighborhood pool was also great after a long day at the dunes. I will say that the house could be A LOT cleaner.!!! We had to strip the beds on day 1 right before bed time and wash them due to "questionable" stains on the sheets and the carpet and hard flooring are absolutely fifthly and left socks black. There are 2 pull out couches which is great for extra guests but only 1 extra set of sheets/bedding so we could not use one of the pull outs. The kitchen could also use some better quality stuff in it and scrap the "dollar store" items in it. The oven does not cook at the correct temperature either. Again, the house is nice and the location perfect for a week at the dunes but we would not stay again because it is really dirty. Fire your cleaning crew and hire a new one. The towels are worn our and the 1st floor bath tub is clogged so you shower in 4 inches of water. For the amount you charge per week, guests expect clean and a better/higher quality equipped kitchen and ample linens.
Nice area, great pool (which the kids loved while in between activities or waiting for meals), friendly neighbors, a kitchen with all the necessities for cooking (as we ate almost every meal there), and many activities that did not require a long drive. The older kiddos said it was the best place we have stayed and we have been renting vacation homes for 8 years.
Very, very cute house! Lots of space, nice appliances, everything you need and decorated nicely! The hosts were wonderful. There is so much to do right there! There’s a very nice swimming pool , game room, tennis, basketball court just a short walk from the house and the dunes are just a 5 minute drive away. The location is absolutely perfect! I would most definitely rent again!
We loved the location of this rental. Just a 5 min walk to Silver Lake, a 5 min drive to the nearby dunes and ORV area and a short drive to Lake Michigan’s shore. Twice we hiked with our kids and dogs across the dunes to Lake Michigan (about an hour hike/2.5 mikes round trip). The sand is powdery soft. We were a 1-2 hour drive from Holland, Saugatuck and Glen Arbor. Got in a lot of paddle boarding, too. The house was great for our family of 6 and 2 dogs. Had everything we needed except for measuring cups which we grabbed at a dollar store. The sofa beds had a few crumbs on them when we pulled them out. The place could use some new carpet, but it suited us just fine. Thank you!
Our usual rental location was not available this year so we decided to rent this house. We have stayed here a couple of times in the past - about 9 or 10 years ago. If you are looking for a great location for your family trip this is the place. All of the rental properties in Floridale are great for families. You can’t beat the quiet neighborhood, the pool, tennis and basketball courts, shuffleboard and the large activities room. When the weather wasn’t the greatest there were still things to do. As far as the house… it was sufficient for our needs. It was not the cleanest, and the bedding, pillows and towels could use an update, but they all were fine for the week. The kitchen was lacking in many things needed for any cooking/baking. We had to compromise frequently to make things work, but we are nearly every meal at the house since there are minimal dining/take out options. If you want to mix up anything there are no mixing bowls and no measuring cups or spoons, one cookie sheet, and there was very little silverware. The knives were worthless so if you need to cut up meat or veggies of any kind, bring a good knife. Honestly, we made due but it was challenging at times. I would stay here again, but would come much more prepared. The owner was very responsive to questions which was helpful because we were unsure of trash pickup situation and how to get in the house on the first day. We had a great week overall!
We rented this home because we were going to be celebrating my dad's life with a memorial service at a nearby cemetery. The owners were very nice and helpful, and having a pet-friendly rental was important for our Chihuahua Stella. We made some wonderful memories during our 5 days staying at the Arnouts's lovely home in Flora-Dale!

Memorial weekend with friends
The property was great, location great and we had plenty of room for our trucks and toys. The inside of the house was not clean. There was dog poop on the deck. Wads of hair in the bath tub and in the living room. The counters were sticky and had food crumbs on the them. The house smelled of mildew. It satisfied our needs for the few days but I wouldn't stay again.
This was a nice place that was close to the action but far enough for some quiet time. Carpets had some stains and there was no toiletries so make sure you bring some. We enjoyed our stay.
We were thrilled with this house rental. It was clean and we'll stocked. We were hoping to be a bit closer to the beach but it was nice that it was private. Neighbors are great. Lots of room for our big boy toys. Beds and pillows were nice! Didn't need to bring our own. Communication with owners was very pleasant. Will stay there again if we can't find something closer to a beach or view of the lake.
