This Florida cottage is a converted shrimp house. The decor is tropical with tile floors and ceiling fans. This 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom (shower, no tub) air conditioned cottage is well -furnished and sleeps only 2.
The quaint cottage is on Cow Creek overlooking a small bay. Manatees, dolphins and many water fowl frequent the area. Enjoy your coffee from the waterfront seating area. Fishing is available from the attached floating dock. Mullet, jacks, snapper sheephead are in the creek. The creek is tidal and his spring feed, and that attracts the manatees. The manatees go by the cottage daily and it is a short paddle up to the springs where they hang out. If you bring your flats boat, Red fish, snook and trout fishing areas are both north and south. Grouper, grunts, hogfish and cobia are west. Coopers Bait Shop is next door. The Gulf Waters of Hudson are shallow and typically offer protection from high surf conditions, making it ideal for kayaking and canoeing.. There are many artificial and natural reefs for fishing and diving off Hudson . The creek is tidal and it is to shallow at low tide to get a boat out. The boat ramp is less than a mile away and is not constrained by the tide.
Users of kayaks or canoes are responsible for the safety of all those in his or her craft. Operation of the kayak or canoe is solely at the operator's own risk. Paddles and life jackets are provided.

Great Vacation

This was such a relaxing vacation! Cottage was clean and comfy. My husband and I enjoyed the fishing from the dock. My husband enjoyed fishing on Cow Creek. Jarry and Chuck were awesome hosts and really did everything to make our stay wonderful. Definitely a place we would back to.

Beautiful nature on the canal

Good location for seeing several areas in Florida. You’re an hour to hour and a half away from tons of stuff to do; or you can sit and relax at the cottage on the canal and fish or take a canoe/kayak ride. A little bar with live music was walking distance away.

great place to relax

The property is enough for 2 people. It is well kept. Right on the water. Owners property is next door, but it still feels somewhat secluded compared to other rentals we have seen available. Short distance to grocery stores and other businesses.

The cottage was just what I needed! The location was perfect for me. The back porch was the perfect place to relax morning, afternoon, and evening. The canal was a very busy place…fish, ducks, ibis…. Always something to see! Looking forward to a return visit.

Awesome place to relax!!

This is our second time renting from Charles at this location. We really enjoy the downtime and are able to just relax. The owners are very nice, friendly and cordial. We wouldn't have come back a second time if it just wasn't a great get away for us. I'm sure we will be back again.

Just Perfect!

Came down a day after my first wedding. I wanted a place to enjoy an older florida like i grew up in and let me tell you i was not disappointed in anyway. Just a perfect little Florida river cottage. We fish so it was perfect!! To Jerry&Chuck you guys are so welcoming and warm dont ever change ever. We hope your mopar trip was a great one! Its been a couple weeks now and i still miss being there. Packing up was very hard and to be honest didnt want to one bit.

Nice Property

Due to a situation with the medical facility I was taking my wife to Hudson, Fl. I was not able to stay at the property. I communicated with the owners, and explained I was not able to make it down as scheduled. It was too late for a cancelation so I am hoping the travel insurance pays off as they are supposed too. I drove by the address the pervious month when we were down for presurgical tests. Anyway, I think anyone who rents this property will have a pleasant stay. House is right

Nice little cottage...

This little cottage has just about anything you'd need at home. There was much thought into a lot of household items. It was too warm to sit outside for any length of time but such a sweet little view of the Cow Creek canal. Wished we could have seen other than the few ducks too but didn't stay out long enough to try to catch a glimpse as we were busy with wedding activities. We did not have a chance to meet Chuck; however, Miss Jarry was very nice and gave great recommendations on area restaurants, local Hudson beach area just two blocks away to watch their beautiful sunsets, near ice cream shop and close bait shack should you be able to take advantage of using supplied fishing poles and tackle. Easy to get to and from. Nice little spot. Thankful to have such a pleasant host!

The cottage was cozy and comfortable, with a great scenic view of the water. The hosts were extremely friendly and accommodating, and gave us lots of tips for different local places to visit. It was a fun, relaxing weekend and we can't to go back!

A Short Visit to the West Coast

My son and I were so happy to find a place that met all of our needs. We enjoyed our kayak rides on the canal and found the Cow Creek Cottage to be cozy and inviting. It’s location close to Rt 19 made exploring the area very easy. It was perfect for our short visit and we wished we could have stayed longer as the area has much to offer.

Relaxing place to unwind. Friendly hosts provided everything needed to be comfortable in a cute bungalow for an old Florida experience. Comfortable bed & plenty of kitchen supplies.Little bit of traffic noise & AC unit but not bad. If light sleeper then maybe bring ear plugs. Would recomend

Perfect Getaway

This place was great! It was very private & peaceful. We enjoyed sitting on the porch overlooking the canal. We even saw a couple of Manatees that were heading back from the springs. Kayaking around the canal and out to the gulf was great as well! Our only regret was not staying longer!!

Nice getaway

Nice cottage on the water. Has all the essentials plus more. Relax, fish, and watch the wildlife or explore more with the kayaks on site. Beautiful night sky. Hosts are nearby if needed, yet it feels private.
