Cozy Backyard Log Cabin/ Great Sunsets/10 min North of Asheville/easy access
Enjoy this restored log cabin with King loft, 1.5 baths (shower/no tub), fully furnished kitchen, breakfast room & den. Jotul woodstove for rentals during Winter months, firewood provided. Great sunsets from back porch. Wifi, Roku with many popular streaming stations. Separate entrance & separate parking from owners in main house. Hosts have friendly golden retriever, a Griff, (both will show up on your porch to greet and possibly hang out with you, so if you don't really like dogs, you'd probably be happier at another property), and a 12-year old that play in shared backyard. Mini-split heating and air system for individual room control. 10 minutes to Navitat Canopy Tours (coolest zip lines around!), 20 minutes to hike on the Appalachian Trail at Sam's Gap area, 10 minutes to French Broad River, 15 minutes to Blue Ridge Parkway, 12 miles to Wolf Laurel Ski Resort and snow tubing, 10 minutes to great restaurants, art, clubs, people-watching, etc... in awesome Asheville. 5 minutes to quaint downtown Weaverville or Mars Hill, location of Mars Hill College. Cabin located 1 minute off Interstate I-26.
We are 10 miles on Interstate 26, door to door, from our rental cabin to downtown Asheville.
The pull-out sofa will sleep two, but when in use, it limits access to the kitchen to about 1 foot (see photo). You can access the kitchen via the back porch, but that's a chilly awakening in Winter months (although it's only about 6 steps outside and back inside). we also provide two twin aero bed air mattresses including bedding (see photo).
We have nice (close proximity) neighbors to the right of our home, nobody on the left that you'll see, and there is a quiet neighborhood across the street that has good hills for walking exercise. Jupiter Rd. is a fairly busy county road. Pay attention when exiting the driveway.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the cabin. My favorite part was sitting in the rockers on the back deck watching the chickens. It had everything we needed, was clean and comfortable. We will definitely be back!
This place was absolutely perfect. We used it as a base camp for some hiking and adventuring in Asheville and surrounds. Super comfy and cute, they thought of everything!
If you are looking for a place to stay in Asheville, this is the place! Beyond perfect! The location is perfect, as well as the accommodations! Comfy bed, refreshing shower, beautiful porch! You won’t be disappointed!
Adorable log cabin on a quiet, peaceful property. It was close to Asheville & several smaller towns with a great variety of restaurants & shops.
The back porch was a perfect setting for relaxing in the evening after a busy day of exploring.
The eclectic decor of the cabin was very appealing & it was stocked with everything needed to make it feel like home.
Would definitely recommend a stay here!
The cabin was very nice and has been renovated very well. We enjoyed the space and the decor.
Check in was a breeze and clean up/departure was simple.
The cabin is in the back yard but we barely noticed. We briefly met Bryan and spent a couple hours with their playful pups.
Would definitely stay here again.
This was by far the best rental I have used. The cabin is so amazing and unique, felt lucky to get to be there. Got to talk to the host GiGi and she was just as amazing as the cabin! Super friendly and very welcoming. Ticket (the dog) hung out with us quite a bit in the morning and enjoyed spending time with him. Incredible stay!!
We spent a week at Porch Break. The cabin was even better than the pictures and perfect for two people. We loved spending the evening on the back porch after hiking, visiting the Blue Ridge Parkway, and touring the Biltmore Estate. The cabin’s location was right off a main road and made it easy to get to Asheville and other mountain towns. The hosts were friendly and made check-in easy. They made sure that we had what we needed but also gave us privacy. This is a great rental. .
Our stay was perfect! The cabin is so cute and cozy. It was very clean and we had everything we needed for our weekend. We had privacy throughout our stay and enjoyed visits from the dogs. The location was perfect!! We were 10 minutes from Asheville and because the cabin was right off the highway, it was easy to get to all the things we did throughout the weekend. I highly highly recommend staying here! We will be back soon!!
The property fit our needs perfectly. The back porch is private and comfortable and quiet. We had everything we needed plus wonderful visits from our furry friends. The house is just as cute and quaint as the pictures And the host was available friendly and helpful. We will be back!
I could write a novel of this precious place! The photos prepared me for the layout, but photos only capture a short story... the rest was up to me. Let's just say from the moment I opened that gate to Welcome me as a guest, I was swooped off my feet by the beauty and magic. My weekend experiences there will take me back soon. 11 Star-rating.
Cheers to Porch Break!
My wife and I loved the PorchBreak cabin. It is a beautiful oasis, just far away from town to be cozy / quiet and just close enough for convenience. Our hosts, GeGe and Bryan, were superbly attentive to our few requests and mindfully respectful of our privacy. And so friendly we’re the two dogs that we invited them in each morning and evening to play and receive pets and adoration. I can not recommend PorchBreak highly enough. We hope to return next year.
GeGe and Brian were some of the best hosts my husband and I have ever had. We visited Asheville because we wanted a relaxing anniversary trip and our stay at Porch Break exceeded our expectations.
It’s the perfect getaway for a couple! The house has a charming vintage cabin feel and it’s tucked away in what feels like a green wonderland. The house sits beside the hosts home, but it’s still quite private.
My husband played the house guitar every night and I sat at the kitchen table sunrise-gazing every morning. GeGe, the host kindly and thoughtfully brought over a djembe drum for my hubby because I told her that he plays the drums!
The home is centrally located. Downtown Asheville is a short drive away and so are many other cool places.
If you’re looking for a place that is quiet, clean, beautiful, peaceful and happy, Porch Break has my highest recommendation.
Communication with owner was great, found house just like pictures. No problems with getting into the property. Street traffic was always light so getting in and out of property was stress free. Once inside the feeling was relaxing and stress free, had all accommodation's needed to make our stay pleasant. Thank you Gee Gee for making our stay in you home great.
GeGe's backyard cabin was a fantastic place to spend a couple of cozy nights during our visit to Asheville. Extremely clean and comfortable, with great places to relax. Waking up to coffee on the porch (with a visit from the dogs) was a great start to the day. The cabin is well located, with easy access to Asheville. Weaverville was a nice surprise with good restaurants and cafes just a short drive away.
We spent 9 days in this magical place, and everything was fantastic, beginning to end. The cabin has more charm than we could possibly describe in 100 words, and the hosts have thought of every detail. The art is such a special collection. Kitchen had everything we needed. Wood stove was cozy and easy to use. The binder of helpful information was thorough. The bird watching was amazing! Super easy to get to Asheville and other surrounding areas. Thank you for sharing such a special retreat!!
We enjoyed everything about the cabin, especially the owner’s 2 friendly dogs that greeted us every day. The location is just outside of Weaverville, 15 minutes from Asheville which was very peaceful. We would definitely stay there again.
We loved our time at Porch Break! The location is perfect. The house itself was so cozy, clean, and had all we needed for our quick weekend getaway. We really appreciated the wood burning stove! We hope to visit again when it’s warmer out so that we can enjoy the back porch, and I have already shared the listing with my friends so that they can book a stay!
Porch Break is a cute little cottage with everything you need for a comfortable get-away. This is the second time we have stayed there and would definitely return again. GeGe is very responsive, and the location is great. A short drive to Asheville, Blue Ridge Pkwy and Biltmore and only an hour and a half drive for a day trip to Great Smoky Mountain Nat'l Park or the Smoky Mountain Railroad. Definitely recommend!
I cannot say enough great things about this cozy cabin. This was exactly what we were looking for and more. From the cleanliness, to the coziness, to the easy access into Asheville, this place had everything we needed. The owner literally thought of everything, even randomly placed readers in every room, board games, tv’s, wireless stereo speakers, WiFi etc.
We loved it so much that we shared the link on our social media pages. We will definitely be back.

I'm sorry we didn't get to meet but SO happy that you had a great stay. I have to give kudos to a previous guest for donating the readers in each room- I always ask for ways to improve a guest stay and that tip just recently presented :-) Many thanks for sharing our cabin on your social media sites. We will show unavailable for awhile as we renovate our house and need to stay back there ourselves, but I will update the calendar availability regularly as we proceed and capture shorter lead time reservations.
Hope to meet you another time,
GeGe

Wife, mother, gardener, amateur wood crafter, repurposing enthusiast, outdoorsy music-loving adventurist! My husband, daughter, dogs, and I consider ourselves fun hosts- we'll interact as much as you want or leave you totally alone- your choice! Come stay with us!
Why they chose this property
The old oak logs and history of the structures and the fenced outdoor space! Lots of birds to watch. Sounds of moving water in courtyard (from frountain). We're a 10 minute drive to a mecca of activity in Asheville, yet drive home to what feels a bit like rural life.
What makes this property unique
We love that we can sit on the back deck and see nothing but trees and distant mountains.
