About this property

Cozy Cabin North GA Mountain - Pet Friendly!

Perfect mountain get-a-way less than 2 hours north of Atlanta. Nestled away between the Chattahoochee National Forest and Lake Nottley sits our 2 bedroom, 1 full-bath cabin. Located just 10 minutes from Blairsville and 30 minutes from Murphy, NC.

Things to do near the cabin: boating, hunting and fishing, boat and jet ski rentals, biking both road and mountain, kayaking, hiking, and horse back riding a mile from the house. There are several Georgia State Parks close by the cabin including Brasstown Bald and Vogel. In addition, there is the newly opened Harrah's Casino in nearby Murphy, NC.

Our cabin offers all of the modern conveniences (dishwasher, Internet, and cable TV). Our screened in outdoor patio is the perfect place for a morning cup of coffee and a good book while our outdoor deck offers prime star gazing and outdoor dining options. Our full kitchen includes all modern appliances and the ever important coffee pot.

We have owned the cabin for several years and have just now started renting it out to others as we feel our little slice of the mountains should be shared with others. We have two young children who for years have gone off to explore in the woods to find all sorts of interesting plants, insects, trees and animals. They love to go swimming in Lake Nottely which can easily be accessed through a short walk in the woods.

For those of you who own kayaks, canoes, or boats, feel free to bring your vessel and gear and enjoy a day out on the lake. Lake Nottely is known for its stripper and catfish and our kids often catch small white bass with live worms from the banks. Good sunny spots with wind are great fishing spots up there.

The house was just as described. We enjoyed our stay. It was clean and had everything in the kitchen we needed. We ate at the sawmill place the food was delicious and the staff were friendly and gave us great service.

Cabin was quaint and comfy. The perfect size for the 3 of us and in a great location for visiting Blairsville, Blue Ridge, and Helen. I felt the cabin was very clean when we arrived.

The Good:The cabin inside, though older was clean. It’s a smaller cabin but that wasn’t an issue and it was cozy enough. A few minor maintenance things, but honestly not even worth mentioning. Easy to get to & convenient location. Minutes to town and short walk to virgin lake beaches that were beautiful. Very quiet.The not so good:There is very little outdoor furniture. There is one rocking chair on the screened porch (photos show two). There was a rusted out grill with no tank attached on the lower level patio but it seemed not to have been made available for guest use. (Though the listing does indicate that a grill is available). The deck had a table and chairs but they seemed to not have been cleaned in months. Definitely not made ready for guests. Very dirty and covered in spider webs. Both the screened in part and the open part of the deck seemed like they hadn’t been cleaned in a very long time. Definitely not made ready for guests. We spent probably an hour sweeping the deck, removing spider webs and cleaning the limited furniture. There isn’t a laundry available for guest use. One board game, one checkers/chess board. No smart TV, no DVD player, no VCR. So if traveling with kids, bring everything you need to entertain them because not a whole lot is provided. The kitchen, has the essentials but everything was kind of disorganized. There were 4 towels provided (there were 4 of us) without laundry access this isn’t enough especially if you’re going to the lake.

Mouse droppings in cabinets. That is expected in a cabin. A small handheld vacuum would have been nice to clean it up. Also, air vent in floor return vent needs to be changed. Everything else was clean and it was a nice cabin.

The cabin was a great getaway for a couple of days. Much needed relaxation. The host was quick to respond on any concerns. I recommend if you want to get to the mountains rent this cabin. We will be back in the future.

Quiet cabin in the woods

Our stay was great. The property was exactly as described and was a cute cozy cabin in the woods. Still close to shops and restaurants but definitely quiet and out of the way. We brought our older dog so the grounds were a little harder for her to navigate because of the incline behind the house but it was still manageable.
