Family Matters is a 5 bedroom, 5 bath, oceanfront beach house. With 2 king master bedrooms, 6 queen beds, 1 twin bed & a queen sofa sleeper. It is great for family & friend gatherings. Many families that visit include several generations and many of our guests return every year! It is very well maintained & located in a family friendly area.

A fishing Pier is a short walk north & there are several restaurants within walking distance in Surfside Beach.

There is a private pool, hit tub, & a boardwalk to the beach. The porch is a wonderful gathering place & has a beautiful ocean view. Beautiful ocean views from the 2 master King bedroom suites. Lots of fun things to do are close by including a large flea market, restaurants, shopping, water slides, kayaking, surfing, beach combing, & more.

Enjoy beautiful sunrises, jogs or walks on the beach & so many others fun activities.

This is our second stay here at Family Matters. The location is an A plus! The new walkway to the beach is great and we thoroughly enjoyed the pool and hot tub. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook all our meals (too many of us to go out!) We made some great memories with our 4 children, their spouses and our 8 grandchildren.

Paradise!

Family Matters is a cozy and beautiful home with all the amenities you need on a vacation with a large group. The balcony provides a gorgeous view of the beach and it is a quick walk across the private access bridge to the sand. The pool and hot tub offer a great way to relax when the sand gets too hot. A beautiful trip to paradise!

The house was clean , the kitchen was well stocked, lots of dishes, etc, but does need a shrimp boil deep pot. Beds were clean, but no extra blankets in closet and mattress cover and fitted sheets came off the mattress every night. Perhaps deeper sheets would help.Eric was very accessible by text, and gave answers quickly.Our family had a lovely stay and enjoyed it very much!

Family Vacation 2025

We choose this house because of its location on the beach, outside amenities and size. Most things were as pictured and described. The host were great in working with us on our check in time. Since our main objective in vacation was to spend time with our grown children and our grandchildren we chose Family Matters. All in all we had a great vacation!!

Family Matters was a great place for our family trip of 8 (6 adults, 2 kids). Check in could not have been easier with all details provided before our arrival. The quick walk to the beach was perfect for the mornings, and the pool quickly became our afternoon hangout spot. We enjoyed the view from the porch which was larger than expected. The house was clean and the kitchen is well supplied for preparing family meals. Overall the house was as advertised although we wish it had been more clear that both master bedrooms were upstairs. Eric is a very responsive host - all in all, it was a wonderful stay!

Great Beach House

We absolutely loved our stay at family matters. Beautiful spacious home with everything we needed to relax. The pool area was great when the kids were tired of the beach and made evening mealtime even more enjoyable. Would definitely recommend!

My wife and I love to travel (20 countries & counting), spoil our Pug Kiki, & watch HGTV together, so it is only fitting that we bought Family Matters in April 2019, so we could put our obsession with “How close can you Beach” to rest! Our favorite travels were always beautiful beaches (originally from Ohio & North Carolina, we even got married on the beach in Myrtle Beach, SC), and we fell in love with Surfside Beach, as you get the best of both worlds – close to the city with tons to do, but also remote enough for uncrowded beaches and a place to rest & recharge with beautiful ocean views & sunrises. We are so happy to be able to share our home, Family Matters, with you and hope you enjoy your stay here and make many memories with your loved ones to take back home with you!

What makes this property unique

Beautiful ocean views from the deck, bedroom windows, living room, & boardwalk to the beach. Spacious home, with an open floor plan, lots of natural light, and well cared for by both current and previous owners. Perfect location as just a short walk to restaurants and shops, but also remote enough to enjoy privacy with a private heated pool and only steps away from a beautiful beach!
