This property was so cozy and peaceful. The host was very helpful and communicated during our stay to make sure we didnt need anything. Will definitely be booking with this host again in the future.
A cozy little cabin that was comfortable at 90 degreses and at 30 as well. A super host that was a pleasure to work with and will rent from again if the need arises.
Absolutely wonderful retreat. The cabin is rustic with many updates. Host provides many extras. My stay was peaceful, just what I was looking for. I would definitely stay there again.

I’m so happy the cabin gave you a peaceful retreat and kept you warm during those single digit days. You’re welcome back anytime.
The host was very responsive and respectful. The cabin is cozy and stocked as expected. We found lots to do in downtown Columbia, cute shops, resturants and friendly people! We've already talked about booking our next stay!
Thank you for staying with us. We’re glad you enjoyed the Cabin’s walkable location to downtown and appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. You’re welcome back anytime.
The cabin was clean and cozy and perfect location to all the breweries and restaurants we wanted to check out. And loved that it was pet friendly since we love bringing our dog with us everywhere! Highly recommend!

Thank you for your kind review. We’re so glad the Cabin was a great fit for your stay and that you enjoyed exploring the breweries and restaurants nearby. We also love welcoming well-behaved dogs, so we’re happy yours could join you. We’d love to host you again.
Quiet little cabin in a very good location. It’s in the center of town but feels like you’re in the countryside. Once you drive off the property, all the convenience of retail stores are minutes up the road.Definitely a one or two person stay. We loved the phone-booth shower!

Thank you so much for staying with us. I’m glad the Cabin felt peaceful and tucked away while still being so convenient. It was a pleasure hosting you, and I’d be happy to welcome you back.
We loved visiting the town of Waterloo! So many great restaurants and bars to visit. We also did a short drive to Salt Lick to do some hiking. The Timberwolf Cabin was perfect for the two of us. Easy to get to anywhere in Waterloo from this awesome little cabin!! We plan on coming back again soon!!Also our hostess (Rika) was super accommodating, helping us with a scheduling conflict. Thank you for letting us enjoy your cabin Rika!! We had a great time!

We're so glad you enjoyed Waterloo and Timberwolf. We welcome you back anytime! Happy New Year
Very nice and relaxing stay. Property was exactly as listed and did not disappoint at all! Great location the downtown waterloo and about 30 mins away from STL. Accommodations were great and so was Rika! We even ran out of propane on the grill at 10 pm and it was replaced even before we woke up the next morning. Highly recommended, we will be staying there again!

Thank you so much for the kind review and for sharing photos of your stay. I’m glad the Cabin was relaxing and exactly as expected, and that the location worked well for both Waterloo and St. Louis. I’m happy we were able to take care of the propane so quickly. It was truly a pleasure hosting you, and I’d love to welcome you back again.
It was an amazing cabin. 1 issue to be aware of is that the internet was a bit spotty for me. And the second thing to not is if you’re a big person, I’m 6’3” 250ish, the shower is a bit narrow. Completely functional and well thought out just something to note.It is in an awesome location. It is pretty close to the center of the city, but because it’s in between an alley and a main street it is very, very quiet, and it was awesome. The cabin has some amazing touches, and you can tell that it has been lived in and well loved.
Just as advertised. Cute, quaint and comfortable. Many good dining options just a short drive. Simple check in, courteous and thoughtful owner. Very Happy with our choice.

Great stay. So close to St. Louis yet far enough away to not be caught up in the hustle and bustle. The cabin was clean, quaint, and peaceful.

Thanks. We do our best to keep the 70 year old cabin clean and comfortable! Hope you can visit again when the weather is warmer and you can walk to town.
Who knew you could have a cozy cabin experience inside a small town neighborhood! Just blocks from the Main street life was an unexpected bonus. My partner and I will definitely be booking here again.

About the host

I was bitten by the travel bug as a child and never recovered. I've visited all 50 states and so far have been to 42 countries on 4 continents. I LOVE meeting people from all over the world, and especially hosting them in the welcoming, charming town of Waterloo. My dad's side of the family has roots in this area
Why they chose this property
My dad, uncle and grandfather built this cabin in 1953 on the Wolf property. Across the yard is the timber frame chalet my dad added in 1997. I love this location!! Walk to town but close to the city. Our guests typically come to visit St. Louis and are pleasantly surprised by all Waterloo has to offer.
What makes this property unique
If you "like" our social media page (Timberwolf, Waterloo IL) you will see links to area attractions. Small town, country living while near the city provides the best of both worlds.
