Nice barn with everything needed for holidays. It's quit far from a village or city (app 15 min by car) but it's compensated by silence..Friendly owners
We had a wonderful time at this lovely and peaceful barn. You find everything you need in this magnificient countryside, with great walks and stunning beaches. Coralie and David were very attentive Hosts that created a warmly atmosphere for us . Thanks so much.....
It really is in the countryside but the views and wildlife are out standing. Great for walkers or if you want to get away from city life. The owners are very welcoming and nothing is too much trouble highly recommand. In saying it is in the country A30 is not too far to travel too so an easy reach for most of cornwall.
If you like wildlife while there saw a fox, kestral, rabbits, butterflies and loads of different birds.
Hope to go back soon.

It was great to meet Nicky and family. They really enjoyed being here and interacting with the wildlife around this part of West Penwith. They were great guests and looked after the Barn superbly. We'd be delighted to welcome them back in the future.
Just amazing. Property is beautiful and very central to everywhere we wanted to visit. So quiet! Hosts are extremely friendly and lovely people. Our doggie loved their two dogs. I honestly couldn’t fault the properly. It is simply stunning, totally relaxing and perfectly positioned. Thank you David and Coralie for a wonderful stay. We will highly recommend this to all our friends 😊

We loved hosting Juli and guests and would be delighted to welcome them back in the future.
The two of us loved our stay at Chycoll Barn. David and Coralie have done everything to make it a lovely, comfortable place to stay, very well equipped with everything you might need. The welcome from their two very friendly dogs is special too! Their horse and pony wandering nearby were a delight. The location is very peaceful and well located for Penzance, St. Ives, Land's End and many beaches. We loved using our e-bikes through the small country roads. The view from half way along the drive is breathtaking with the countryside spreading out before you on every side. All in all very much recommended!

Delightful.
This was our second visit to Chycoll Barn. This is a most charming barn conversion, equipped to a high standard. The Barn is comfortably furnished, with lovely comfy beds, peace & tranquility in abundance. There is a delightful sun trap garden. The Barn is within easy reach of many beautiful places to explore. The village of St.Just has a wonderful butcher & various other shops that cater for everything you may need. We highly recommend this property & are hoping to return soon. The family that owns it are lovely, but completely unobtrusive.

Idyllic Cornish Retreat
Thank you to David and Coralie for opening up their beautiful property for our week quiet getaway exploring the West of Cornwall. Not only does Chycoll provide all the peace and quiet you could want, it does so in the most beautiful of settings. The renovated barn provides all the comforts and amenities you could need for your stay. There is much to explore in the area to keep you busy if you choose. You will be warmly welcomed not only by your gracious hosts but by a lively cast of critter characters including an adorable terrier and mating doves. We hope we will have the opportunity to return again in the future!

Nice cottage in great location
The weather wasn't very good during our 1-week stay, and 2 of us fell ill, but we enjoyed our stay very much nevertheless. The house is in a unique location; remote on the one end but close to e.g. Land's Ens and various beaches. Other attractions in Cornwall are only 1 hour away. The house owners David and Coralie are very nice and let our daughter ride horseback a couple of times. For tall people the lower floor is not quite high enough, e.g. in the shower, but the cottage as a whole is very nice and well equipped.

A hidden gem in the hills of Sancreed
We stayed here for a couple of nights during a landscape photography trip in early May 2018. The old barn, which was converted to a cozy home served us as a base for exploring the southwest Cornwall peninsula. Staying here was the best choice we could do. Everything in the house was clean and nice. David and Coralie are perfect hosts, always looking that their guests feel comfortable. Yes, the driveway from the main road up to the house is a little bumpy, but dont be afraid, if you drive slow, it will be no problem.
If I return to this area, this will definitely be my first choice for accommondation. Really loved to stay here!

Gorgeous, secluded barn conversion in a beautiful part of Cornwall.
This was our first visit to Chycoll and we will definitely be back! The barn is wonderful with distant views to the sea from the kitchen. The living space was perfect for us (a family of three) and fantastically well equipped. We even managed to enjoy a couple of barbecues in the evenings! David and Corralie made us feel very welcome from the outset (the welcome cake was amazing!) and were great throughout our stay with some really helpful advice and tips about places to visit. The area the barn is situated is beautiful and we ventured no further than St Ives as there is just so much to do in the locality. I can highly recommend waking around Bortallack Mine and Cape Cornwall. The ice cream at Newlyn is also amazing (as recommended by David and Corallie's daughter!) If you're looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life then Chycoll is a true haven of peace and quiet - situated 3/4 of a mile down an unmade track you really do get away from it all. Total heaven for two weeks - thank you so much!

Nettes kleines Häuschen in sehr ruhiger Lage und schöner Umgebung. Die Besitzer sind sehr herzlich und haben uns willkommen geheißen. Wir haben uns wohl gefühlt und würden wiederkommen.

We enjoyed our stay in this lovely part of Cornwall. Great beaches for exploring, surfing and rock pooling. Amazing scenery on coastal walks, and inland visiting the ancient sites, including Carn Euny, which is within walking distance of the cottage. Friendly hosts and a cosy and secluded cottage along a (very bumpy!) track, with a pretty garden and views of the beautiful surrounding landscape.

Esther and guests were delightful and we would love to welcome them back in the future.
We loved this property - we could not make use of the garden given the time of year. We felt very at home and the house offers great facilities and being an upside down layout worked out really well for us as any muddy boots could be left just outside the door and your coats are ready by the exit door away from the main living area. We loved the wood burner as we do not have one of these at home and it was very fitting for the style of the cottage. It is very well located for visiting the surrounding area and not too far from the supermarket if you needed to stock up on provisions.
Wonderful barn in remote setting, very quiet and relaxing. Owners close by if required and have 2 beautiful dogs, a handsome horse and sweet little pony. 20 mins drive to Penzance, and close to Lands End, St Just etc. Perfect for dog owners, lots of off-lead walking from your doorstep. Highly recommended
Chycoll Barn is in an isolated spot, with only the owners property nearby. Lots of foot paths to explore in beautiful scenery. The three quarter mile approack track is not for the faint hearted, or for low cars. The barn was clean and comfortable, with everything you could need. The owner was not intrusive, but available if required. One bath towel and one hand towel each was not really adequate for a week, but there was a washing machine and a tumble dryer. All in all a great break.
Great place to have a holiday with your dogs. A real get away from it all location with gorgeous beaches and walks nearby. The owners are very nice and helpful too. Thank you!
Chycoll Barn is wonderfully peaceful and relaxing .
The owners David and Coralie are friendly and helpful.
The two dogs Mango and Paw Paw are very friendly and good company.
Enjoyed every minute of our stay.
Chycoll Barn is a lovely, comfortable, well-equipped cottage with plenty of room inside and outside, in a very tranquil location. David and Coralie made us feel very welcome. Highly recommended if you like a peaceful, quiet base from which to explore the area.
Lovely house, with welcoming hosts, in a perfect location, right at the end of England, surrounded by beaches and surfing for our two boys. Loved our stay and will be back!

Disliked: Cleanliness, listing accuracy
Really disappointing!
Property accessible with caution. Check in was fine. Lovely part of the world. Good weather as well. The property was sadly dirty and smelt on arrival, despite all of the windows being open. Visible cobwebs behind sofas, from ceilings and either side of wall mounted kitchen cupboards. Kitchen work surface was sticky. Furnishings tired and smelly, when we moved the sofa to get to the vacuum cleaner out there was a lot of old dust and dirt beneath it. TV cabinet and front of oven were dirty. Lots of dust on the larger items of furniture. Basically we had to clean the entire property on arrival. This would’ve been disappointing in normal circumstances but made worse by covid, later check in times with earlier check out times. Visible stains to bed linen in master bedroom. Replaced on request. No bbq supplied, when asked for, supplied dirty. Shower didn’t really work in family bathroom. Asked to measure something up for owners during holiday. Water turned off during stay with minimal warning. The close proximity of the owners made this all very awkward and impacted on the enjoyment of our holiday. We didn’t expect to have to clean the entire house on arrival and left it cleaner than we found it on departure. We appreciate that UK holiday prices are currently overinflated but having stayed in another Vrbo property in April of this year this property couldn’t have been further away in terms of cleanliness.

About the host
Hosted by David Ceredig-Evans
I live in West Cornwall with my wife, children, 3 labradors and Tito the cat! I work as a plumber during the day, and a musician the rest of the time. My wife is an artist, painting and potting where we live.
Why they chose this property
We fell in love with the location as we drove up the 3/4 mile unmade lane and found a lovely unspoilt granite cottage and outbuildings set apart in its own grounds of about 6 acres.
What makes this property unique
Chycoll Barn is situated up a 3/4 unmade track, in a completely unspoilt rural location yet only 15mins drive from the nearest surfing beaches at Gwenver and Sennen Cove. You can walk straight out of the property into glorious moorland situated several hundred feet above sea level giving distant views of the sea and coastline. The wildlife is extensive in this area with much to interest and entertain. On clear nights the stars are spectacular.
