Bryher was very well equipped and perfectly presented. We had very good communication with the owner before we arrived and had a very comfortable stay. We would happily stay again if we need to be in the same area in the future.
The apartment was very clean and comfortable. It had everything we needed. All information was clear and accurate .
The setting was just a short walk away for the beach and lovely eating places. Best to book most in advance.
Also a wonderful butcher and bakery were very close .
We will definitely visit again.
Great local facilities and we enjoyed the short walk to Fee’s Food for coffee and goodies en route to the beach. Amazing local walking and don’t miss The Blue Tomato for lunch.

We had an enjoyable stay. Location is great with driving access to many areas. Everything works well. Bed is semi comfortable compared to most but ok. Self contained and spacious. An allocated Car park is available but has its resident birds that roost in the tree above the car. Views from the windows facing west are very nice.
The apartment was easy to find, booking in and keys etc all very straight forward. Clean and spacious had everything we needed. Close to shops and local pub for great food. Would definitely stay again
The accommodation is well equipped with good facilities although the sofas were uncomfortable to sit on for long periods. Great location to explore and would recommend taking the ferry from Rock beach to Padstow. We also recommend the Deli in the village.
Really well maintained property in easy to reach location.
Well-equipped and nicely furnished.
Good communication from the host.
For us would have been better closer to Polzeath for more cafes and things to walk out and do rather than having to drive.
Overall very happy to have stayed here. Thank you
The apartment was clean and very well equipped. It is very spacious and comfortable with fantastic views from the back windows, looking out across the hills. We had some amazing sunsets!
Bryher is in a very quiet location with easy parking under the cedar trees but watch out for the bird droppings!
Shops are nearby and we would recommend The Bakery.
Lovely apartment at the top of this old house.Very clean with everything we needed.A double bed with firm mattress. The walk down to Rock itself is about half an hour and slightly downhill, not ideal unless you are fit.The road can be noisy and if you have dogs and children must be watched carefully for their safety. The neighbours are lovely.Overall a lovely place to stay.
We stayed four nights in January 2023. The flat has good electric heating although the floors ( mostly uncarpeted) are cold underfoot! We liked the spacious bedroom and living area. The kitchen area worked well despite being small. Worst thing was that the designated car parking space is under a big tree so the car got covered in bird droppings
This was ideal for my husband and me for a short break. Spacious and well equipped, the apartment suited us perfectly. Comfortable bed, plenty of seating, dedicated bathroom ~ everything was stylish and easy. No issues with the shower or tv as other reviews have mentioned ~ instructions are detailed and clear.
It was slightly further out of Rock than we expected. ~ in fact local friends told us we were in Splott (sp?). We did take the car down most days and parked in the main car park. However, the one day we walked, it took us about 25 mins so not impossible and it wasn’t a steep incline coming back.
We will definitely return and would be happy to stay here again.

A cosy 'home from home'
What an incredible place! Hollyhock was a home from home for us; everything we could have needed was in the house and our kids and dogs loved it, particularly the secure private garden at the back of the house.
Wendy is an incredible host and helped us way and beyond our expectations and Jayne kept the place spotless. The rooms are cosy and comfortable with everything we could have anticipated - the kids loved the DVD library collections! The village has everything you may need from the great pub 2 minutes away, to the bakers with the incredibly friendly staff! Our highlight has to be our daily trips down to the incredible beach at low tide; we spend hours searching rock pools and running along the vast sands. As we have just moved to Cornwall from Greece, we will remember this house as our 'first' home and have many happy memories to take with us! Thank you Wendy and Jayne!!
Property clean tidy and comfortable and well presented, everything needed was available. Arrangements were all very professional with speedy communications. prompt, speedy replies. The management were attentive ensuring we were ok and accommodating. The operations are impeccably. It’s a 30 minute walk to the beach but is. Good base for a holiday in this area. The area is beautiful with an incredible array of places to go for sights, walks and food Best to park on the road as the parking is under a tree which results in lots of bird droppings, but just a small thing compared to the over all offer. Highly recommend.

About the host
Hosted by Wendy Head moortoseacottages
We are Mark, Wendy & Ellie and we live on Dartmoor in Devon with our hens, ducks and cats. We owned holiday cottages in a nearby village for 12 years, then took a break to bring up our daughter. We had the opportunity to purchase property in Rock, Cornwall which have been successful as holiday rentals. We have now converted the barn which was the site of the original Manor House before it burnt down. It has a 'home from home' feel which is important so you can relax and enjoy your holiday. We have added things we have collected over the years to make it feel homely for our guests. If you wish to plan a two centre holiday we aim to provide short breaks at both location except in high season. We are nearby if needed but Cowshed has a private garden giving full seclusion for relaxation. We have added Morocco House nr Dartmouth S Devon, moortoseacottages
Why they chose this property
We had the opportunity to purchase Bryher which gives us the flexibility to use it ourselves when Hollyhocks is booked and to make it available to larger groups as it is so close. It provides an excellent base for smaller families or couples seeking a romantic break, for those who like us, love the sandy beaches, lovely walks and Padstow's foodie establishments and shops.
What makes this property unique
Bryher is situated near to good local shops, deli, butcher, bakery, Spar, Fish & Chips and boutiques. It is situated within walking distance of sandy beaches, Camel Sailing & Waterski school, and stunning coastal walks. Boat trips from Padstow and Coasteering for more adventurous days. Porthilly beach is 15 minute walk, Rock, 20/30 minutes. There is kite/windsurfing at Daymer Bay 1.5 miles by car, by foot at low tide. Surfing lessons at Polzeath, 2 miles, Coastguard patrolled, very shallow for a long way for children with rock pools, more boutiques and cafes, restaurants. We are happy to offer short breaks in low and mid seasons, please enquire.
