The property is right in the heart of Trastevere and all that Rome has to offer within walking distance. As past renters have mentioned, the place could use a little refresh. If they installed something for shade and purchased some new cushions, the patio would be ama, ing. It met our expectations.
My husband, teenage daughter and I stayed in this wonderful apartment for 4 days while doing a power tour of Rome. We wanted to see all the important sites, but minimize the intensity of the crowds and heat (summer). Our priorities were safety, walking distance to cafes/restaurants/shopping, and a place that maintained authenticity. This was exactly what we got in a quiet, neighborhood. We walked to Vatican City, Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, never took public transportation because you miss out on all the gems along the path. Each day and evening, we spent out on the incredible terrace to unwind or begin. Many times due to jetlag, we were up before sunrise and enjoyed coffee in the kitchen with views of the sunset streaming through the bell towers. Rooms were nice and cool (air conditioning), we made a huge Italian pasta feast with fresh ingredients from the Campo de Fiori market in the adorable kitchen, all appliances functioned. Bring your adaptor for phone charger, etc). Do be aware that you'll get a workout from the stairs, both up to the apartment and in the apartment itself We are a fit family, but definitely felt our legs after 4 days of stepping! Wonderful.
A few tweaks would bump this spot from three to five stars
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at this property. The views from the terrace are amazing and it is loaded with terrific woodwork, beamed ceilings and charming little architectural touches. It is a fabulous little gem in a quiet neighborhood that’s only steps away from wonderful local spots. If you’re the parent of a John Cabot student living in the Gianicolo residences, it’s an ideal location. What’s not ideal is that this beautiful old apartment looks as though it has been so popular as a rental that it hasn’t gotten any TLC in a while. It could use a coat of paint, an update to the wallpaper in the half bath, a full set of cushions on the terrace furniture, a few cosmetic touches like new comforters on the beds, and a good deep clean, particularly in the bathroom, to bring this property from three stars with potential to five very quickly. Fair warning - there are LOTS of steps to get into the apartment, so if you aren’t prepared to climb four flights of stairs multiple times a day, this property isn’t for you.
Check in and booking were easy and Lucrezia, Gianluca and Raffaelle worked with us as our flight cancelled. The description was misleading as floors were warped, bathrooms dirty and paint peeling...For three of us we could have used more towels and there was no remote to watch TV.
We very much enjoyed this apartment located in the Trastevere, which has a superb terrace with an extraordinary view of Rome. The 2 bedrooms are beautiful and the shower room perfect. 2 small drawbacks : it seemed to me that there was a second bathroom or shower room, and the kitchen lacks a little utensils and dishes. But the view from the kitchen, located on the same level as the terrace, is really charming. Very good stay.
The apartment is in a great location. The interior of the flat just needs a little love. Not much in the way of cups and glasses only a two cup espresso maker. The toilet has an annoying dripping that needs attention. The terrace furniture is a little tired. Of course you are not in Roma to stay in your apartment so these are minor niggles that would make a good apartment great.
This apartment was perfect for what we needed, especially the location. In this heat, wish the AC had been up and running and cold when we got there as it’s the ONLY respite from the heat. Get ready!!!!! The locks are tricky so after being hot one day, we waited 30+ minutes to get in. Of course my husband finally got it before our contact got there. Our contact was very responsive.
Booked to be near Trastavere.
NOTE the four flight walk up when considering. We were met early so we could drop our bags which was helpful.
The beds were very very comfy — quiet area but very close to lots of cafes and restaurants.
The kitchen is barely stocked , no coffee provided at all, but everyone here goes out for an espresso shot so we never got to really linger much in the kitchen.
We did buy a bottle of Prosecco our last night and sat under the Roman sky soaking in the amazing view.
Recommended if you want to stay in the trastavere area specifically.

Disappointed
Upon check-in we immediately noticed the apartment smelled musty. I initially chalked it up as it just being an old building, but later realized it was more then that. At check-in we were surprised to be required to pay 127 Euro fee in CASH simply because we checked in on a Sunday.
Our host, Alice, was very helpful and informative. Once settled in I noticed the kitchen ceiling was covered with fruit flys. It would seem that trash may have been left by prior guests, not entirely sure. I found myself killing flies on our first night there. After walking around the apartment bare foot, prior to bed, we all noticed how dirty our feet had become. Clearly the floors had not been cleaned in awhile, and if they had management should hire a new housekeeper. The bathroom shower had some major issues. Part of the floor was covered in mold. If I could post pics I would! We were shocked. Again, we chalked it up as it being an old apartment. The next day we noticed there was a Post-It left on the coffee maker “Caput” obviously by previous guests. Reached out to management and they told us to hold the button on the machine for a couple of seconds & it should work. It did, but it took 45 minutes to brew a quarter of a very small pot. We gave up and switched to the stove top Mocha pot. Bought Clorox wipes the next day and cleaned all the bugs off the kitchen ceiling. Later that day when getting back to the apartment my husband noticed a leak under the dishwasher/stove area so we informed management. They quickly responded and sent a handy man the next morning. We were out the entire day and when arriving back at the apartment late that night we were hit by a stronger, mustier smell. We new something was wrong. The handyman made the leak worse. The kitchen was flooded to the point that the leak went through the floor and into the second bedroom downstairs, soaking part the bed, and flooding two sides of the room. We understand things like this can happen, what was unacceptable was management’s answer to the problem… for my husband to temporarily fix the leak. He spent an hour or more at midnight dumping water outside, searching for the shut-off valve (which ultimately was found three floors below, not in the apartment) before management and the owners came over. That night the three of us had to sleep in one bed and management has done NOTHING to make up for any of the inconveniences. On a positive note, the beds were comfortable and the location was great!
Spent four days in Rome with a perfectly located base in Trastevere. Each day we looked forward to returning to rest our feet and enjoy a glass of wine or a cold Moretti on the beautiful roof top terrace which provides wide views of Rome. Well appointed apartment and communicative host made this stay amazing. One point worth mentioning is this is apartment is on the top floor so there are stairs to navigate to get to the apartment. We looked at this as a way to burn off the calories we ate!! Highly recommend and hope to return.
Great location in the Trastevere area of Rome. Don't let the graffiti on the front door of the complex scare you. Felt very safe being right across the street from the police station. Parking is difficult if you have a car. Be prepared for 4 flights of stairs with luggage. Terrace was lovely. Kitchen was well equipped. No microwave. Check in process very smooth. Olga was very accommodating.
Situated on the side of the Giancolo Hill (one of the seven hills of Rome), this apartment is typical of the area: an old building but with a charm that makes living in the Trastevere area of the City such a delight. The front door is not very prepossessing and the stone stair (eight flights) are a little daunting but everything changes when you reach the apartment. On the main floor are two good-sized bedrooms and a bathroom, a tiny additional toilet closet (literally a closet) and a living room. It is nicely decorated and furnished and there is absolutely loads of wardrobe space. From the living room, there is a quaint spiral staircase that leads to a kitchen-diner above which opens onto a stunning terrace with breathtaking views of Trastevere and the City beyond. (Vittorio Emmanuel II monument stands proudly above the other building and rooftops). The kitchen-diner has windows on three sides so even when indoors - you feel as if you are truly al fresco amidst the roof tops, pines and hills of Rome. The kitchen is adequately supplied (although many have a milk frother and expresso machine which this apartment does not - very minor point). The terrace is well furnished and smells from a top notch restaurant close back waft up on the evening breezes. And the apartment, being so elevated above the City is quiet. Trastevere, if you don't know it, is the most charming and rustic of the areas of Rome and it is very, very easy to walk across the many bridges to visit all the famous sites in the City. Even the furthest is only 30 minutes walk away. As if this was not enough to tempt you - the number and variety of restaurants in the area are superb. They range from very high quality unique and different hostelries, to cafes and restaurants offering traditional fare, pastries, gelato and of course coffee.

Not worth the price
This apartment was in a great location, and Raphael who met us there was nice, but the house was just not maintained well at all. The shower wouldn’t drain (They had to know this), & the bedding and towels were really bad. I was actually really bummed at the bedding. They only gave us each one very old towel for 5 days. And the house was poorly stocked. We had to buy toilet paper & all basics like a sponge for the kitchen on our first day. And the TV didn’t really work.
If it had felt cleaner, had nicer linens & everything working, I’d say it would be have been worth the price. But it just felt borderline seedy.

Perfect location for those who love the Trastavere. Terrace views and comfort were unbeatable...worth the extra staircase! Host was very helpful with our bags and local tips.

Prime Location and Great Service from Rental Agency
This apartment in Trastevere is in a prime location. We walked almost everywhere in Rome from here. But if you need to catch a taxi, that's easy too - they come by often on the street below. It was in a quiet neighborhood with great views from the patio. The steps were a challenge with our large suitcases, but typical of the apartments in the area. The best thing about the apartment, though, was Weekey Rentals. They arranged for a driver from the airport, groceries delivered at our arrival, and Emmanuele provided us with a lot of helpful information, as well as a last minute taxi at our departure!
