About this property

Charming sunny house in central Ceret with mountain views and outside space

Our house is ideally situated in the historic centre with its Museum of Modern Art, galleries, cafes and restaurants. 30 mins from the sea, 10 mins swimming lake and mountains, 15 mins from Spanish border. The house is full of light and French character with a terrace on the ground floor and a terrace leading from the sitting room on the first floor. The master bedroom with ensuite shower room is on the ground floor. A double bedroom, twin bedroom and shower room is on the first floor.

Every effort has been made to ensure you have a very comfortable stay including internet access and TV.

There is a double height entrance hall which leads onto a fully equipped, kitchen with full size dishwasher, hob and oven, microwave, coffee machines, fridge freezer etc. There is a dining area in the kitchen with French doors leading to the rear terrace. The terrace has a garden table and chairs, a further seating area to relax in and benefits from the morning sun or afternoon shade.

The master bedroom is on the ground floor, and has an en suite shower room and French doors onto the rear terrace. The open plan sunny sitting room is on the first floor and has comfortable seating for six, a desk area and patio doors accessing the west facing covered terrace with table and chairs enjoying the afternoon sun and great views of the Albere hills. There is one double bedroom and one twin bedroom on the first floor, both looking over gardens. The large family shower room is also on the first floor. All rooms have heating, shutters, wardrobes and storage. There is a garage suitable for motorbikes which also has a washing machine and drying area.

There are plenty of good books for adults and children, board games, an eclectic collection of albums on a MP3 player and a wide range of film on DVD and a DVD player and a stereo system. We also have a guitar for guests to use and for the more artistic, an easel and some brushes. There is a variety of tourist maps and guide books for the area and for information about trips to local vineyards, best beaches to visit and information about the coastal walks/hikes, restaurants, local market times etc there is an excellent Tourist Information centre in town. We have 4 bikes which you are welcome to use. You will find beach chairs and a beach umbrella under the stairs. A boule set is stored in the hall bench together with a picnic set. There are plenty of baskets and a trolly for your trips to the beach or lake and when buying your fruit and veg from the weekly market.

There is a large supermarket on the road leading to Ceret and two in the town. An excellent bakery can be found at the corner of the road leading to the house where you can buy your morning bread and croissants as wells as wonderful tarts and cakes etc.

Ceret

Ein neues Backblech könnte mal her. Wir mussten selbst was Provisorisches kaufen, Tigermücken überall! Einige Dinge sollten also verbessert werden.

Perfectly located property in a wonderful town
We loved our stay in Ceret- highlights include hiking to the waterfall, eating (twice!) at L’Atelier Fred, visiting the museum, and having dinner on the upstairs balcony. Our hosts were responsive and helpful and there was plenty of space for us both to enjoy our working vacations in this magical town.
