Outside, the front and back gardens are laid to lawn and bordered by an array of shrubs and roses. To the rear of Dolphin the garden is fully-enclosed, making is a safe place for supervised dogs or children to play. A terraced area with garden furniture for four beckons for al fresco dining from the charcoal barbecue on warm sunny days. Off-road parking for one car is available on the driveway, with the opportunity for further cars to park outside on the quiet road.
A short two mile drive, bike or walk away, is the pretty sailing harbour and village of Burnham Overy Staithe where you can enjoy walking out to what is often a deserted beach. Dear Pauline,
Thank you for your feedback following your stay at Dolphin.
Sorry to hear of the cleanliness of the property, I can see by your booking nothing was brought to our attention during your stay which is a shame as we do like to be given the opportunity to rectify any issues for you during your stay, and we would have been more than happy to send housekeeping back round to go over any areas you were not happy with.
However all of our properties are individually managed by the owner and your feedback will be passed back to them to action anything as necessary and we thank you for bringing this to our attention - Your feedback is truly appreciated.
We look forward to welcoming you back to Norfolk again very soon Pauline!
Best Wishes

A lovely holiday home
Dolphin cottage is a spacious, well maintained, and comfortable bungalow with everything you would need. Burnham Market is a pretty village and a good base to explore Norfolk. Unfortunately, for us, our Labrador, Pluto became ill after a lovely walk at Holkham on the Wednesday of our stay and had to spend the next two nights in the vets at Fakenham, just over 10 miles away. Obviously this ruined our holiday and we weren't too happy at paying over £1,800.00 and taking our boy home little better than when he went to the vets two days before. Luckily, after a visit to our own vet in Warwick, he was soon on the mend. So, although our visit to Dolphin was marred, I absolutely loved the cottage. We are booked to return in August, if we can get Pluto to return!

Convenient location
Overall a great place to stay, which worked well for us with a dog and very elderly parents.
Very conveniently located for Burnham Market and the coast. Nice quiet cul-de-sac.
The little touches (dog treats and water, Christmas tree and cakes/ milk) on arrival were very welcome.
The conservatory was a lovely warm place to snuggle up and read a book on a cold, wet winter's day.
If you are looking for a 'character cottage with views' - this isn't the place for you, But if you want a practical, clean, quiet, warm place all on one level - this is perfect. And the enclosed garden is great for dogs.
We had a bit of an issue with the heating- but the owner helped us out very quickly.
We had a lovely refreshing break - thank you.

Good location, cosy and comfortable
Several positives in that the cottage was comfortable, in a good location, quiet. Nice conservatory and safe garden for the dog. The heating worked well and plenty of hot water.
The negatives were standard of cleanliness, several cobwebs, Bath mat mouldy, standard of towels and pots and pans the poorest in any cottage we have ever stayed in.

Perfect location for a relaxed break.
We were looking for a comfortable dog friendly property close to facilities and with off road parking. The Dolphin provided all of this and more. Short walk to shops and pub. Long walks around some stunning scenery. Can really recommend this as a place to stay.

Four day break along the Norfolk coast
Booked Dolphin as we'd not explored this part of the North Norfolk coast. Initially a little concerned that the bungalow was on a housing estate (of sorts) but we needn't have worried as many of the properties seem to be holiday lets.
A small two bedroom bungalow, with all the essentials and less than two minutes from the local mini-market shop made for a decent location. Frustrating being woken on Thursday (and Friday) morning by workmen rebuilding the bungalow just two doors away but, in a few weeks that should be complete.
Regular criticism of most holiday lets nowadays is the lack of USB charging points (we do carry plug in adapters) for phones, watches, shavers etc. (Owners please note) but this is not specifically aimed at Dolphin - it's most lets.
The Globe, a few hundred yards walk, is great for a meal.
The key test: would we stay there again? … Yes, absolutely!

Wonderful stay over Christmas
We very much enjoyed our stay in Burnham Market over Christmas. The property is ideally located, only a short walk into the town but in a quiet cul-de-sac and a short drive to the lovely beaches of north Norfolk.
I was concerned about cooking Christmas dinner and whether the property would have all the required utensils but should not have worried, the kitchen was really well stocked.
The Christmas tree was a fabulous surprise, as was the food hamper (including doggy treats!) from the owners and the Christmas cake from Norfolk Hideaways.
The small enclosed garden was ideal for our dog.

Bungalow good Garden not good
Bungalow was very good had every thing we needed , however the garden was in a bad state , grass not cut , weeds , nettles and brambles growing everywhere even had a hanging basket of weeds ..when complained the owner said the hanging basket was of ornamental grass and they liked the brambles because you get blackberries from them.

Loved our Norfolk break
Dolphin was perfect. We had a lovely rest and with beautiful weather we could ask for no more. The little touch of dog bowl and arrival treats for our dogs was lovely. We really needed the rest and The Dolphin and surrounding area delivered this for us. Thank you

Great location!
Our weeks stay with our dog was good. The coast hopper buses stopped in the village just down the road.
A DVD player would be a good idea as TV reception wasn't at all good while we were there, could have been the hot weather?
The location of Dolphin was good as it was on the outskirts of the village, so it was quiet.

Dear Pat,
Thank you for taking the time to complete the UpFrontReview following your recent stay at Dolphin. Your feedback is invaluable whether constructive or positive as without this we, merely the booking agents, are often unaware of the issues that may arise hence customer feedback being something we look at very closely.
It sounds like a DVD player would make all the difference.
Once again many thanks for taking the time to write to us and we look forward to welcoming you back to North Norfolk sometime in the future.

Comfortable, clean and tidy
Property was clean and tidy. Decor fine. We lived mainly in the conservatory which was relaxing. The settee could have been more comfortable. Kitchen was basic but functional. Bathroom was good, shower good. Beds comfortable. Garden could have been tidier, in particular the front as there is a rose bush which overhung the walkway into property.

Our stay at Dolphin in Burnham Market
We enjoyed the week we spent in Dolphin. The weather was brilliant and we didn't need coats for most of the week.
The garden was very restful, particularly with a glass of something cool.
The bungalow was in a good position for groceries and the village has three very good eating places.
Bus services to and from the village were very good and always arrived on time.
The owners were very helpful when we needed a TV reset and would definitely return another year.

There were only the two of us and our two Border Terriers so had plenty of room . We felt very comfortable and relaxed throughout the week, a home from home .
A perfect location for exploring everywhere up and down the North Norfolk coast.

A perfect stay at Dolphin
We arrived at Dolphin on a very cold and snowy weekend. The owner very generously gave us advice about local road conditions, let us arrive early and put up the heating. It was wonderful to arrive there. The house is very comfortable and has everything you need. From there we were able to easily go to a different beach each day and to a restaraunt at night. We would definitely recommend Dolphin for a stay.

Firsts guests at Dolphin
A last minute search for an Autumn break in North Norfolk enabled us to be the first people to stay at Dolphin cottage which had just had a complete refurbishment. We fully appreciated walking into a property that had just had a total upgrade.
The property is in a quiet culdesack with parking at the edge of Burnham Market and only 5 minutes walk from Burnham's vibrant centre.
