This is a rarely secluded 1-acre property, surrounded by 100s of acres of nature conservancy forest. There are no other properties along the shoreline for half a Km in either direction. Sparrow Lake is part of the Trent-Severn Water system that connects Lake Simcoe, Lake Couchaching, and Georgian Bay. It is one of the closest lakes to Toronto, being only a 1.5 hour drive from the city. The lake is clean and one can enjoy the water in our secluded area of the lake w/out the boat-traffic of the larger Muskoka lakes. The water is deep enough to dive off the end of the dock. There is lots of land to play, explore and enjoy. Private property w/ beautiful lake views all around. Sparrow Lake is a spectacular lake for fishing that features panfish, northern pike, walleye, both largemouth and smallmouth bass, and perch.

A lovely space and great location

We had a great time at this cottage, very quiet and peaceful, a clean space and great spot on the lake. The only negative was that the wifi did not work during our stay so if you anticipate needing an internet connection while here take that into consideration. Otherwise a wonderful spot and we'd go back for sure.

Very nice cottage loved the large deck area to set up games and relax, out door speakers for music was great. Cottage was clean and having the extra supplies for cooking was nice and lots of board games. The fans in every room really helped with the hot weather very comfortable. The wifi worked really well and communication with the host was really good.

A beautiful cottage with all the amenities to make memories for a lifetime! Our 4-adult 4-kid group had a wonderful time during our 3-night stay. The waterfront is spectacular and we enjoyed the kayaks as canoe as well as the giant foam mat - a real hit with the kids! Host was very responsive, and the cottage was well equipped. Very well maintained throughout. Just remember to being your own towels. We would love to return, either in the summer or another season. Thanks, Jake!

The property was very private however we did have a few issues upon arrival. The slider door screen constantly fell off. The cottage itself could use a good cleaning. Very dusty and lots of cobwebs. The lake is far to weedy to allow for swimming off the dock.

Wonderful secluded property!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! We stayed for a week in July; a group of 3 adults and 3 kids ages 6-13. We loved the quiet location and the kids loved swimming and fishing every day. It was very hot when we were here, but as another reviewer stated, the ceiling fans and tower fans in every room kept the house very comfortable. Opening the windows allowed for cross breezes as well. While we were here we visited Toronto (1.5 hrs away), went to Splash On Water Park in Orillia, and visited area towns to eat and shop. Most of our time was spent on the lake, swimming, fishing and kayaking. The only issue we ran into while we were here, was the fridge stopped working, but the owner had it replaced within 24 hours! All in all, we loved it and would definitely stay again!

Wonderful Cottage - everything in the add was as stated!

We just returned from a wonderful 2 night stay. This cottage was lovely. It was clean on arrival and our checkin was a breeze. Communication with the owner was seamless and there were no hassles at all. I would highly recommend a visit to Anyone who is looking for a peaceful family getaway on a quiet park of sparrow lake. Nice location, bad condition

The cottage is in a beautifully secluded location. Unfortunately we were quite disappointed on arrival with the condition of the property. We saw multiple cockroaches inside the cottage. The barbecue was absolutely caked with whatever the last person had cooked, and looked in general as though it had never been cleaned. The fire pit was strewn with half-burnt wood and garbage. While there was a huge deck, the patio furniture was in poor condition and also quite dirty. There were no drinking glasses we could find, only coffee mugs, and only one roll of paper towel provided.In terms of sleeping space, the second bedroom with a double bed is really not suitable to stay in for any length of time, since it also has laundry machines inside and the breaker panel is directly above the bed, where it’s easy to hit your head (as happened multiple times). Overall, very hard to recommend at the price we paid. It’s a lovely lake, but we won’t be back.

We’ve stayed at many cottages over the years and are generally easygoing, but this experience was very disappointing. The property is in visible disrepair, and the host appeared indifferent about it.Upon arrival, we were greeted by a loud siren-like noise near the TV. The host’s solution was to instruct us to unplug equipment and move the WiFi router and reconnect it ourselves. Within minutes, the bathroom door knob fell off—eliminating any privacy. Not long after, the screen door to the deck came off its tracks, meaning we couldn’t enjoy any breeze from the lake on an already stiflingly hot weekend.The freezer didn’t function properly—barely colder than the fridge—making it essentially useless. On the deck sat three propane tanks, all empty. When we contacted the host, we were told to go into town and refill them ourselves.The cottage remained uncomfortably hot despite ceiling fans, and the deer flies were relentless—likely due to the overgrown, unmaintained road leading to the property. The final blow was the lakefront: completely surrounded by dense, tall weeds, making swimming impossible.This stay was nowhere near worth the cost. We strongly suggest looking elsewhere.

Wonderful experience! We enjoyed our stay!

Issac was so friendly and responded all our questions and inguries with no delays. The cottage location is fantastic, I should say the best in that area with an amazing lake view. He provided us with kayak and canoe and all saftey equipments to enjoy the lake. Before we got there, there was a storm there and ruined the dock, however, He went above and beyond when he noticed that flood has ruined the dock and fixed it before we got there. Overal, we had a wonderful weekend there and we could not ask for more! Enjoy your stay!

We loved this cottage!

This was a great find and the absolute best value for a 2 bathroom cottage! It was spotless, had all the amenities you would want, and was very comfortable and quiet. The view of the frozen lake and snowy surroundings were breathtaking. Isaac is a great host and was extremely helpful and friendly at all times. We can't wait to stay here again in the summer!! :)

A Great Week In October

It was great to spend the week after Thanksgiving at this cottage. I enjoyed how much space the cottage has, and especially all the room on the deck. The cottage is kept in terrific shape, with all the modern conveniences I appreciate. The owner, Isaac, is friendly and very helpful. As a bonus, the weather was amazing, so that made my vacation magnificent!
