Thanks Elaine, we are glad you enjoyed your stay in Bampton and had everything you need in our house.
We stayed as a family and loved our week here. We were 6 adults and there was plenty of space for us all. 4 bathrooms and good internet helped. Good clear covid policies in the property and the town made you feel safe. The welcome wine and cake was appreciated. Good eating out options in the town too. Would definitely go back.

Dear Clare
We are so glad you had a comfortable stay with your family, and also enjoyed the independent shops and eating places close by in Ba,mpton. best wishes, Catherine
We had a wonderful birthday treat for my mum's birthday. Ideal property as a downstairs bedroom and bathroom. Also downstairs has no changes in levels. Ideal position right on the high street and plenty of shops for supplies if eating in and places to eat out as we mostly did.

We are so glad you enjoyed your stay in our holiday cottage and our friendly village and were able to hold your birthday celebration there.
We found the house as a last minute getaway for the long weekend. The house is huge for a family of 4 and can easily accommodate up to 6 people. It was all clean- we were told in advance to bring bed linen and towels. Communication with Catherine was straightforward. The kitchen is well equipped and the beds are rather comfortable. The location is lovely, a good walk to the church, a lovely bakery opposite, spar on the door step for convenience and very friendly people everywhere in Bampton. It comes recommended.

Thank you for your kind comments. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay in our house and friendly village
We had a wonderful week at this amazing property in the beautiful town of Bampton. The house is so clean and spacious with excellent kitchen equipment and a toilet for everyone! The owners lovely artwork adorns the walls in rooms that are lit up by the sun streaming through (can you guess we had fab weather!) The house is situated perfectly for trips to the south and north coasts of Devon/Somerset. Exmoor is close by too. I highly recommend this house, especially for families of mixed ages as there are two lounges. The welcome gift of wine and cake was much appreciated.

Stayed for 4 nights with my wife and kids (17, 16, 12). Check in/out was easy. Communication with Catherine was via text and she was very friendly and accomodating. Bampton was a good base with pubs, convenience stores, bakers, butchers, greengrocers. The property was very nice and had everything we needed. All in all a very nice break.

We also had nearly all the curtain rails broken and main curtains come down . The d v d player was running on the t v this was very annoying.

I'm sorry that you were not happy with your stay. The house was completely cleaned and checked immediately before your arrival and everything was in good order.
We were disappointed to discover the damage done when you left. This included a curtain completely pulled down from a free running rail, breaking all the curtain hooks; a broken bedroom drawer; another broken drawer handle; writing on a painted surface; and numerous marks on furniture. Our plumber confirmed that the toilet was working properly – the running water was due to interference with a valve inside the cistern during your stay.
Due to COVID-19 we protect our guests with additional surface cleansing and disinfecting and allow 2 full days between lettings. We needed all this time to put your damage right.
Lovely house in a great location. We had a wonderful time and would visit again

About the host

I am an artist living and working in the Devon village of Bampton. My husband, Peter, and I moved to Bampton in 2012 to start our art holiday business. We live and work from Weston House, which is about 300m from Coombe Dene, and where we also offer B&B between our art courses. Our art courses have proved very popular, drawing students from across the UK and from many other parts of the world.
Why they chose this property
We love living in Bampton, which is a large village in a lovely setting, with lots of local shops and services. The surrounding area is a beautiful and unspoilt part of rural Devon, with hills, lakes and river valleys. It is within 12 miles of the M5, yet quiet and peaceful: an ideal place to get away and relax for a few days or a week, yet very accessible.
What makes this property unique
Coombe Dene has been completely renovated and refurbished to a high standard since we bought the house in 2016, with modern kitchen, bathrooms and shower rooms, new carpets, curtains and furniture. It is spacious and comfortable, yet in the heart of the village, with pubs, restaurants and shops within a few minutes walk or less.
