About this property
This lovely 18thC harbour cottage has spectacular views both front and rear.
In a wonderful position overlooking the harbour this refurbished old cottage still retains charming original features including beamed ceilings and an open fireplace. An extension completed in April 2019 offers more modern facilities to the rear. The overall property offers the lounge, dining room, a double and a twin bedroom, all having stunning front views of the sea and all are very comfortably furnished in keeping with the traditional ambience. The modern kitchen is to the rear with the adjoining breakfast room having french doors to the charming patio. The second double bedroom, again at the rear also has french doors to the patio. There is a lovely enclosed organic garden with garden furniture and barbecue where you can sit out and enjoy the scenic surroundings.
This historic and very picturesque fishing village lies on the most southerly tip of the Machars and is most famous for its 13thC St Ninian's Chapel which stands on the hill, 5 minutes walk away.

Local golf clubs welcome guests and magnificent coastal walking can be enjoyed.
The cottage is within a few minutes walk of the local hotel/pub/ restaurant which boasts lovely food, wines and real ales. The new Tea Room on the Isle offers breakfast, light lunches and refreshments all day and also has a small gift shop and houses the local post office. Newspapers and basic groceries can be bought here including bread and milk.
The Swallow Theatre, a restored and converted byre just outside Whithorn, offers seating for 48 people. It offers a range of high quality productions throughout the year.
