A lovely place and great for a couple.
A lovely place and great for a couple. Comfortable bed for a 6’2†human, decent shower and the under floor heating kept it warm throughout. Lovely main living area with plenty of wood for a couple of evenings in front of the log burner. The kitchen was pretty well equipped with a good fridge freezer and compact dishwasher and washing machine. Being picky, the kitchen is overlooked from the other property with no blinds or other means of privacy after dark. To sum up in three words, lovely and cosy.

We had the best time staying at the Old Bike Shop, we couldn't recommend it highly enough.
We had the best time staying at the Old Bike Shop, we couldn't recommend it highly enough. It was incredibly cosy and warm, well equipped with everything we needed for an incredible stay. It was really easy to locate, and a comfortable drive. The owners were lovely, Erica stopped by to say hello and knowing they were down the road if we needed anything was a lovely and warm touch. I have a small dog, and the biggest issue I have is finding somewhere that's fully enclosed for her safety. The garden was incredibly secure and perfect for her to explore and remain safe. The Old Bike Shop is a truly beautiful little stay, we loved it and would love to come back.
A lovely place in a good location for exploring the area.

We enjoyed our weeks stay at the Old Bike Shop.
We enjoyed our weeks stay at the Old Bike Shop. Communication prior to arrival was smooth including key collection. The main criticism to note however is that the cottage advertisement does not indicate that the owners live directly next door and you share the drive with them. For this reason having blinds up in the kitchen area would have been welcomed for additional privacy. Cottage itself was lovely and warm with underfloor heating and the wood burner also worked a treat. The local Pub is only doing take away at the moment owing to covid19. We had take away pizza which was lovely. We walked from Brockdish to Harleston along the Angles Way. There is a pub in needham which appears to be the closest one that is open.
Lots of walking tracks which we loved because of bringing our dog. Location perfect for visiting Norfolk and Suffolk. There is a big coop in Harleston otherwise main supermarkets are in Diss which isn’t too far.
It was a nice relaxing break and just what we needed.

Just returned from a lovely break in Brockdish at the bike shop.
Just returned from a lovely break in Brockdish at the bike shop. It was brilliant size for just two of us and the dog and we thoroughly enjoyed the cosy lounge with wood burner. Visitors should be aware you are very much overlooked by owners family as properties adjacent close to bike shop and there is a full length, full wall window/door in the kitchen so not much privacy there. The owners have put some tall wooden planters up in front which means you’re little sheltered upto four foot from ground. It was not a big issue for us but people should be aware. There needs to be little more crockery and cutlery to utilise the dishwasher. Take your own towels and hairdryer. Sadly it felt as though we lost a day of our holiday due to cleaning requirements /covid related so check in not until 5pm and checkout 9am!

We had a lovely time staying at The Old Bike Shop, it's a very cosy cottage and full of character, the perfect place for a getaway. We took our bikes and cycled most days - you can easily reach Framlingham and a host of other nice towns and gardens. Erica is a friendly host and we were made to feel very welcome, we even left something behind but she organised posting it back to us.
Recommend using The Old Kings Head - very close by. It was doing take away food when we were there (because of Covid-19) and the food is really first class. We got food on 2 nights, trying the pizzas and the pasta.
Recommend using Harleston for the supermarket shop, their Co-op is great and it's a nicer town than Diss, with some interesting shops to explore.

Charming quirky cottage set in a nice old village.
Charming quirky cottage set in a nice old village. Loved the history of the building and very comfortable for two. Local pub serves excellent food, albeit currently in takeaway form. Owners live nearby and are very nice and amenable. We would happily rent this property again.
