This is a unique property in a lovely place.
This is a unique property in a lovely place. The downstairs living room and kitchen is a good size, comfy and the kitchen well equipped. The log burning fire was nice. The bedroom is also large, lots of wardrobe room and drawers. It's a great view from every window, very peaceful in the middle of the estate. There's some wear and tear around so you have to book not expecting it to be pristine (marks on walls, freezer shelves collapsing etc) but it's very homely at the same time and everything works and it's well thought out with the little touches like hooks where you want them etc. The two main things it lacks are wifi and a shower - there's a huge bath and handheld shower only. But that only matters if you need them, we felt the log burner was a good compensation. We had a very enjoyable stay, it is remote with the nearest local shop in Belsay a 15 minute around drive away and 30 minutes each way to bigger shops but the remoteness is the charm really and Belsay Castle and Wallington are not far away amongst other things.
