Comfortable house in a quiet small costal town
We stayed four days in June during a visit to England and Scotland with our 14-yr-old granddaughter. She was enchanted by the cottage, a row house, comfortable and renovated to a high standard, with a well-equipped kitchen. The walled back garden with a teak table and chairs is protected from the wind, and a small solarium off the kitchen is comfortable on chilly days. We did enjoy being outdoors during the long June daylight. Garlieston is quiet indeed. The bay empties during low tide. There is a pub, a tea room, and a small grocery attached to the village gas station. A costal path extends northward and southward on the bay for several miles, and is suitable for a morning trail run. The owner has provided much information about local history, and his clan's seat, nearby Sorbie Tower, is worth a visit.

We had a lovely week at The Cottage.
We had a lovely week at The Cottage. It had eveything we needed for a relaxing break away from it all. A very well equipped kitchen really helped being away from home. The location was perfect for us, our 6 yr old son loved being so close to the beach and there was plenty of walks to keep us occupied without having to drive anywhere. The Cottage was warm and cosy and the log fire was a lovely treat. The only thing we wish we'd known before we arrived, due to having an alergy to them, is that the duvets and pillows are all down filled. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

We loved our stay at The Cottage.
We loved our stay at The Cottage. It is an absolute gem and has a lovely family feel about it. Equipped with everything we needed. Especially in the kitchen. We also loved the log fire at night to relax. There were lovely walks right on your doorstep. It is also a great base for visiting different parts of Dumfries & Galloway. A lovely relaxing family holiday. We had our two teenagers & 10 year old with us. I honestly thought they would be bored. I was wrong. They absolutely loved it. My 10 year old said it was one of the best holidays ever. That says it all. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo
