Across the road is Skipwith Common Nature Reserve which provides a variety of wilderness walks, and the historic city of York, home to York Minster, Jorvik Viking Centre, The Shambles, York Dungeons, wonderful shopping and, of course, York Racecourse is just a 20-minute drive. Also nearby is the McArthur Glen designer outlet, York Maize Maze and the iconic Selby Abbey, with the beautiful North Yorkshire coast accessible in around an hour. Shop, pubs and restaurant all within 1½ miles.
