Borgo dei Fondi is a beautiful late-18th-century farmhouse (already recorded in the first land registry of the Grand Duchy of Tuscany in 1812), consisting of three well-separated apartments with independent entrances: “La Loggia,” “Il Forno – First Floor,” and “Il Forno – Ground Floor.”

“La Loggia” is the largest apartment – about 80 m² – accommodating up to 5 guests.
It takes its name from its charming outdoor loggia, perfect for enjoying lunch or dinner in the peaceful Tuscan countryside.

Inside, it features:

a spacious kitchen/living room with dining area and a working fireplace;

one double bedroom;

one twin bedroom with three single beds (or, upon request, one double bed and one single bed);

a bathroom with shower.

The décor is carefully curated, with fine furnishings and thoughtful details that highlight its authentic character.

Outside, a truly generous space includes a pine grove, a large garden, and a beautiful fenced swimming pool with sun loungers and parasol, ensuring relaxation and privacy even for the most discerning guests. Garden furniture and a barbecue are also available to fully enjoy the outdoor areas.

Tuscany Is An Excellent Retreat

The property is well maintained, very comfortable, set up to accommodate cooking, relaxing or going out to eat. David the host is the height of hospitality, whether relaxing on the property, walking the country side or sightseeing. We would definitely stay there again and will recommend to family and friends.

We had a wonderful few days at this property. It felt like it was just us and the birds for three days and we were so relaxed that we cancelled some of our plans to stay there during the day. We had some complications checking in at the original time planned but the host was very understanding and helpful. We would happily stay here again!

Nothing to complain about. Not every road in Tuscany is paved, but is really doesn't matter. This property and its owners are delightful. I could not say enough good things. If you're looking for a lovely, secluded getaway that's really only 15-20 mins from Siena, this is it.

We had the great pleasure of spending a week at Borgo dei Fondi in the middle of May. It was heaven! It is just outside of Siena's center, a short 15 minute drive from train station. Be prepared for lovely, peaceful location to melt away stress of day-to-day life. Gorgeous grounds, gardens, and pool. David and Simona were THE MOST GRACIOUS hosts-accommodating every need, yet respecting guests' privacy. They provided us with the local activities, historical info, and all kinds of practical info. For example, certain private castles were open to the public for only 2 days, and we would have missed seeing them if not for David's recommendation. The road to the villa is a wee bit bumpy, but we loved being off the beaten path. I especially enjoyed hiking around with only the sounds of nature. It was deeeeeeelightful! Great place, especially if a larger group. You can rent multiple units for family reunion. Highly recommend!!

Merveilleux séjour !

Nous avons passé un merveilleux séjour, David est un hôte attentionné et bienveillant qui partage son amour pour la Toscane. La Logia est très agréable à vivre, nous n’avons manqué de rien. Là terrasse couverte a été un beau refuge par temps pluvieux et nous a permis de prendre l’apéritivo à l’extérieur malgré tout. La région est magnifique, de belles randonnées à partir de La Loggia et centrale pour sillonner les points et villes d’intérêts. Nous n’avons pu profitez de la piscine car hors saison mais c’est une expérience à vivre pour la prochaine fois😎 Merci David et Vittoria. .

A wonderful retreat in the Tuscan countryside

The description of Borgo dei Fondi cannot do justice to the sublime beauty of the setting and the expert and thoughtful renovation of this over 200 year old property. We spent two wonderful weeks enjoying La Loggia, a beautiful, roomy and fully equipped 2 bedroom unit on the upper floor of this former stone farm building. It has a very large well furnished living room under heavy exposed wooden beams, and very modern kitchen and bathroom. We had most of our meals in the outdoor loggia (pictured) overlooking a courtyard, lush fig trees, and the pool nearby. The property provided privacy and peace of mind in the Tuscan countryside only 20 minutes from Siena, and within easy reach of many other Italian featured towns and cities such as San Gimignano, Firenze, Pisa, Lucca, Cortona and many others. The owners were gracious and knowledgeable in all things Tuscany, and responsive to any questions or needs., such as restaurants, shopping and the Via Francigena hiking trails. Beautiful jewel in the Tuscany Countryside!!

Being a former VRBO property owner, I try to use VRBO properties for my vacation needs as I find the reviews to be mainly accurate, especially the star ratings. I was looking for something in Tuscany that was quiet, in "the county" but at the same time comfortable. Boy did I hit the jackpot on selecting this one! As can be the case, pictures sometimes just cannot adequately portrait the beauty of the scene it is attempting display. This place was beautiful, simple and very, very comfortable. Added benefit was the quiet time it allows you. One morning, I woke early to take a walk and found myself going mile after mile, coming across vista after vista of beautiful Tuscany countryside. The hosts, David and Vittoria were helpful and very, very, very nice! They met us timely as promised and were gave us many suggestions for day trips and restaurants in Siena. Upon reflection after returning home from our two week trip to Italy, I would stay here longer and take day trips to areas such as Florence, Pisa and other towns in Tuscany. It was probably our favorite place we stayed in Italy and that is saying a lot because we stayed at some very nice VRBO properties in Rome and Florence. FIVE STARS no doubt!!

My family of four throughly enjoyed our stay at this farm estate. We rented the La Loggia which was spacious and well appointed. The property is very well maintained and quiet. Perfect Italy Vacation Villa!

Wonderful week of relaxation at La Loggia

Our week at Borghi dei Fondi was wonderful and it surpassed our expectations. The apartment is spacious, beautifully furnished and comfortable, with everything you need (and more) for self-catering. The covered terrace was a huge bonus in the heat. The surrounding gardens and pool are beautifully maintained and even though other apartments are close by, most of the time we felt like we had the whole place to ourselves because David and Vittoria have carefully planned outside areas that all the occupants can call their own. Based on our experience, we will definitely be back and have no hesitation in recommending this lovely place to anyone who may be considering holidaying here.

Beauty close to Siena

Our Tom Tom navigation system found this hide away gem easily. Set amongst beautiful trees, it was the perfect place to come back to from a day's sightseeing. It's about 10 minutes drive from Siena - a very beautiful drive. The apartment is lovely and one can relax there like its your own home. David and his wife met us there to hand over the keys - super friendly and helpful people!!!!!! The every day walk with our dog was a treat for both of us; we loved the fact that she could run free and explore. - As so our 8 year old boy!!! Day trips down to Val d'Orcia is a must - (Montalcino, Bagno Vignoni, Sant Antimo Abbey ext) Lovely landscape all over. We can only recommend this accommodation, a place to return to!!!

Historisches Anwesen in wunderbarer Landschaft

Als Familie mit drei Kindern aus dem Westallgäu verbrachten wir eine traumhafte Woche auf dem Anwesen. Nur 15 Minuten von Siena, umgeben von herrlicher Natur, konnten wir auf dem großzügigen Anwesen mit schöner Bepflanzung herrlich entspannen, die Kinder den Pool geniessen. Die Wohnung ist ausreichend groß für 4-5 Personen und geschmackvoll eingerichtet, nur das Bad etwas klein. Die Eigentümer-Familie ist sehr gastfreundlich und ausgesprochen hilfsbereit. Jederzeit wieder !

historic house in very beautiful landscape

Not far from Siena in a calm very beautiful landscape we really enjoyed our holiday week in a well equipped big apartment in the pittoresque historical house surrounded by a wonderful garden with pool good for swimming. David and Vittoria gave us good advice for day trips and restaurants and were very helpful making our visit very comfortable. I would not miss the wine area in the South of Chianti with beautiful castles and the sculpture parc with really interesting modern objects by international artists. 60 km southern of Siena we were impressed by the the hot springs in San Filippo where You could take a bath in nature. It´s really worth to come back to this magnificent place. family with 3 children coming from nearby Lindau / Bodensee , Germany , Michaela and Dirk

Beautiful farm house in beatiful location

We are a family of five who live in Greece and we stayed at the la Loggia on the first floor for 7 nights. We were on our own as the ground floor was not occupied. The house was very clean and comfortable. We felt at home immediately. David was very kind and organised us with maps etc. of the area. Sienna is a very close 20 minutes away. My kids 8, 10 and 11 were very comfortable in their own room with 3 beds. They got up early most mornings and ran around the garden and explored the forest ( Collecting flowers, sticks and stones... ) until breakfast was ready. We did many day trips and always felt we were coming home to a cosy house in the evenings. The working fire place was a great extra (logs provided) even though it was not that cold we still had a roaring fire just for the fun of it. The stereo has a load of CDs so the kids and I spent a couple of evenings dancing to great Italian classics and even some rock (very thoughtful on your part David). We had a great and memorable holiday and my children are already asking if we can go back. Most of the windows have mosquito nets - so no creepy crawlies... anywhere in the house!, which for a farmhouse in the country is saying something. You need to shop for your supplies as there is nothing very near by - after trying a few smaller shops we realised the Coop.ti was the best bet. Many thanks David. We hope to return to your lovely house in the future. PS best wifi in Europe!

Beautiful, quiet, well located...

We are pleased to have discovered this place. The apartment is beautiful, spacious, comfortable, well equipped (with possibility of a fireplace ...for enjoyable seasons before and after the summer) as outside (we crossed a deer one night). The apartment is located ten minutes from Siena. Easy access to San Gimignano, Volterra, Chianti, Montepulciano, Montalcino ... etc and forty minutes from Florence ... very central.

Wonderful countryside appartment

Truly lovely Tuscan countryside apartment. Very close to Siena and all the wonderful towns including Orvieto. Quite, peaceful and very comfortable. Everything you would need to have a lovely holiday. We are a family of 5 and had plenty of space. The children could wander in the garden and enjoy the fresh air. Lots of Italian country ambiance - stone building, antiques and timber roofing - just lovely. highly recommend staying here to explore Tuscany!

Wirklich ein herrliches Landhaus

Wir haben als Familie mit zwei Jugendlichen zwei Wochen in "La Loggia" verbracht. Die Wohnung ist sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet und gepflegt. Das Gelände rund um das Haus ist sehr weitläufig, mit vielen Möglichkeiten ein ruhiges und schattiges Plätzchen zu finden. Der Pool ist ein Traum! Die Loggia ist wunderbar um zu frühstücken und in atemberaubender Ruhe die Abende zu verbringen. Die Vermieter waren sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. In jedem Fall ist dies ein Anwesen, zu dem wir gerne zurückkehren möchten.

Location agréable et calme

Nous avons passé une très agréable semaine à la Loggia. L'accueil a été très chaleureux avec fruits frais et boissons. Les propriétaires avaient prévu une carte de la région et nous ont expliqués tous les bons coins à voir et les bons plans. La Loggia est très bien située au cœur de la Toscane. C'est au calme. Il y a de l'espace pour des enfants. Les soirées sous la loggia sont un délice. C'est avec plaisir que nous y retournerons.

Abseits der Hektik eine idyllisch gelegene Anlage. Mitten im Wald auch zur Tierbeobachtung (Eichhörnche, Füchse und Rotwild) bestens geeignet. Siena kann man mit dem Auto gut erreichen. Absolut empfehelnswert! David und seine Familie kümmern sich um alles, so dass es an nichts fehlt. Die Wohnung ist geschmackvoll toskanisch eingerichtet und das tolle Anwesen mit Pool. Liegestühlen und Hängematte lädt zum entspannen ein. Wir hatten eine rundum tolle Woche. Vielen Dank dafür.
