The Constable's House, Wells-next-the-Sea, Norfolk
A fabulous semi-detached Victorian townhouse, with a lovely private garden, located just a few minutes' walk from the centre of the popular coastal town of Wells-next-the-Sea, with its many amenities. Walk through the front door of The Constable's House and you will be arrested straight away - by its charm, warmth and inviting welcome!
Decorated and furnished in a very relaxing contemporary style that enhances the character of the house, this is a super comfortable and well-equipped holiday home. With two generous reception rooms and a breakfast kitchen on the ground floor, and three good-sized bedrooms (king, double and twin) and two bathrooms (one is en-suite) on the first floor. This spacious house will appeal to families, couples and friends around the year. French doors from both the kitchen and dining room/snug lead out onto the private, enclosed rear courtyard garden which has an additional dining area, just perfect for lazy dining when the days and nights are warm.
The house is ideally situated in the quiet residential area of Church Plain on the southern outskirts of the town, where you will find the magnificent Victorian St Nicholas Parish Church at the end of the road. Take a short walk in the other direction and you arrive right the heart of the town. Here you will find absolutely everything you need, and more, to make your holiday complete - a choice of some great places to eat, an array of interesting independent shops to browse and the fabulous Maltings art complex to explore. Maybe try your hand at crabbing or sign up for a day's sailing from the picturesque Quay. If you fancy just watching the boats come and go, or the world go by, take a seat outside one of the many cafes.
And, of course, don't forget the beach! Wells beach is a hard one to beat - it's absolutely stunning, with golden sands, framed by pine woods and a row of colourful beach huts, stretching as far as the eye can see. The beach is around a twenty minute walk from the Quay, but you can always take the car or cycle. In the unlikely event that you ever tire of Wells-next-the-Sea, there are endless delights to explore not too far away - Holkham Hall and its beautiful deer park where you can hire bikes, and the chi chi village of Burnham Market with its boutiques and restaurants, to name but two.
Additional Information: Two well-behaved dogs welcome (small additional charge). Please bring your own coffee pods for the Nespresso Vertuo coffee machine.

Excellent property! Spacious, well done out and ideally located. Parking was no problem and when something was missing it was replaced within the hour. Would recommend a visit!

Stay at the Constable's House
The cleanliness, comfort and location of this property were all excellent, and we enjoyed our time in Wells next the Sea immensely. The was however one major fault - the fridge. It was integrated with the kitchen fitments, and had been badly installed - the warped door meant the the fridge never closed properly and anything in the door comparrtment was actually heated friom the compressor exhaust. All our milk went off. The fridge is also inadequately small for the number of people in the house, and its lower than waist level setting required uncomfortable genuflection to observe the contents - and the light didn't work which compounded the problem.
It was a shame - the rest of the arrangements were superb.

Lovely house, poor service
The house is beautiful but a couple of things let it down. Only one set of house keys provided between 6 people staying. Small things like no bath matts, only enough hot water for one person to shower each morning, dirty utensils and no keys to fit the kitchen back door. For nearly 1400 a week you’d expect a little more.

Thank you for taking the time to send us you feed back.
This can be invaluable because unless things are reported to us, we are unaware that things may need dealing with.
With regards to the points you have raised, a member of Norfolk Hideaways staff is always available to assist 24 hours a day so if you were experiencing problems we would have been able to resolve issues at that time
We usually provide one set of keys and advise guests to use the Key Safe so each guest has access the property, thereby saving one person from being responsible for them.
The Housekeepers are always willing to return to the property to address issues, if required.
We could have easily let you know how to adjust or boost to the hot water.
The keys to the back door are kept in a drawer at the property, noted in the guide at the property, or we could have advised you of this had we know.
I do hope that you will stay in one of our cottages again and look forward to ensuring that your stay is issue-free.

Great cottage in brilliant location.
Recently enjoyed a stay at The Constable's House. It was in a brilliant location for accessing all the local shops, galleries, cafes, pubs, entertainment, harbour, beach etc. on foot as well as not too far from other places that were well worth a visit by car.
The cottage was extremely spacious, cosy, clean and well furnished and equipped with lots of interesting artwork in every room. Special mention must be made of the comfortable beds and lovely bed linen and towels. Quiet location, lovely to hear the birds singing.
The welcome pack was a nice touch and the handbook provided contained so much useful information. Alpacas passing the house, being taken for walks was an unusual sight which we really enjoyed!
Would highly recommend.

Four Night Break
The accommodation was comfortable with the exception of the suite of furniture in lounge, collapsing and very low for the older members of our party. It would be helpful if this could be mentioned in the detail.
