Always a pleasure to stay at Derimut Beach House - great location and such a relaxing place to while away the hours looking at the ocean.

Enjoyable stay
Beautiful location with an enjoyable set out. Whilst the property was different from the listing, it was comfortable and the view made it incredible!

Great location, directly opposite the beach. Quite basic, but with everything you need and a marvel
Great location, directly opposite the beach. Quite basic, but with everything you need and a marvelous big sunny deck which overlooks the sea. Great for a group of 6 adults or for a family looking for a casual beach getaway.
We had a great time here, a lovely little original beach 'shack' that makes you stop and enjoy.
Beach is across the road and views are to die for. Town is a super quick walk away.
We loved staying here for a simple, relaxed, quiet time.

As per last time, the property is clean and comfortable for our needs. The deck oversees an excellent ocean view and the ambience of the house and Lorne itself was very relaxing.
The beautiful beach home that has the best energy and views over the huge deck right onto the beach.
A short walk from the township, so well located!
These places in Lorne are few and far between in Lorne!
A gem that's easy to live in and relax.
Well worth a stay...in-fact didn't want to leave!
A beautiful un renovated beach house with stunning ocean views, close walking distance to everything you need- supermarket, restaurants ocean walks, galleries.
I’ll be back to stay!!!

Good view but property requires attention
The view is amazing. It's literally beach front. However, the property is not value for the money you pay.
The lawn had overgrown grass (needs mowing) and gave the property a shabby look.
The house was cold and the outside toilet was unusable. There were cobwebs everywhere.
For the money we paid, this was absolutely not worth it.

Hi Jasmeet.
We are so sorry that you found the property in such a poor condition. However, thank you for your honest review. We will make sure that the house and garden will be upgraded. We try to keep on top of the cobwebs, but in this weather condition they are back in a couple of days.
Kind regards, Colin and Annette
It is a classic Australian beach house, designed for going to the beach, coming back, showering and then having a BBQ. That said, we used the property as a base for a family get together in early Spring and it still totally met our needs. It was a cold weekend and initially the house was quite cold, but we bought wood from the local Foodworks and lit the slow combustion fire which burnt all night and was still going in the morning. There is also an electric heater in every room which warmed everything up in no time. Two of the bedrooms are accessed from the front upper deck (i.e. you walk into the main house and then out onto the upper deck to access these two bedrooms), with the main bedroom being inside the main house.
We had 5 stay there and everyone enjoyed it, and we would stay there again. The host was a good communicator and was very flexible and adaptive to our needs.

Great spot, but overly priced for what you get.
Upon arriving, confronted by very long grass & cardboard rubbish in front of bins. No fans or air conditioning, furnishings very old & in need of replacing. Main bed was the most uncomfortable & old bed we’ve ever slept on. (We had to bring all our sheets, doona cover, towels etc) the outside deck in need of staining & table & chairs need to be replaced. Outside couch needs to go to the tip. Great spot & view but way over priced.

In need of attention
This is one of the remaining original holiday houses of Lorne and we were under no illusion about this. Yes magnificent views and location but this poor old house needs some serious maintenance. When we arrived there was an overwhelming smell of mould and we discovered that there had been a leak in the roof onto the (only) couch which was saturated (Foam couch). Both the fridge and hot water service were not on and the house was freezing (no welcome heater on to take the chill off the air). In our efforts to get the house cosy, we tripped the fuse to all power points, which required us to call the property owner to locate this. (Not in the external switch board but inside one of the bedrooms). Beware two of the bedrooms are accessed via the outside front veranda, which might be fine on a warm evening, but not when its freezing cold. The way this house was presented reminded me of days gone by when staying in with friends in the "family holiday house" and the family members had to turn everything on when they arrived. Payment was in property maintenance, not in cash payment..
