About the host
Hosted by Fiona McLeay

Our family have enjoyed Island Beach for over 25 years and since 2006 have provided quality self contained guest accommodation at Island Beach Escape properties. . We have seen a significant interest in Kangaroo Island from both local holiday makers and international travellers. We enjoy providing our guests with a positive experience, and assisting them with their holiday planning.
Personally I enjoy outdoor things - walking, swimming, fishing and exploring. I also have a keen interest in art and spend time working on projects here at Island Beach. I also enjoy food and wine, and spending time with my family and friends.

Why they chose this property
We purpose built Beachcomber in 2000 to suit our mixed generation family - grandparents, parents and children. We loved the location and had holidayed in the area many times previously. When the opportunity arose to purchase a block of land we jumped at it. We love the blend of rural and beach. Native flora and fauna around the home and the gentle waves lapping out in front of the house.
What makes this property unique
We love the fact that the family or a group of friends can all share a fun and relaxing holiday together. The house is very conducive to sharing meals, games and fun stories. Our family has an interest in art and I have painted some of the art pieces in the property, as has my son's mother in law. I always comb the beach for interesting shells, driftwood and other items, hence the name - Beachcomber.
