Enjoy your coffee or wine on the deck or cook up a storm using the beautiful KI produce you’ve picked up on your outings. Wander in the garden, have a game of table tennis or backyard cricket, children can play on the lawns, pick some fresh lemons or limes and enjoy the little birds that visit. If you can add in a few days extra to your trip to just enjoy the house, slow down, re-set and see where the day takes you, which may only be as far as the beach, we highly recommend it, please speak to us about extended-stay discounts. Winter stays are delightful, with plenty of things to do inside, or relaxing and beautiful drives, winery visits, long lunches, beach walks with warm jackets & whale sightings around KI.
CHILDREN ARE VERY WARMLY WELCOMED and families just love the Villa. Let us know if you're bringing children and we'll provide access to toys, baby items(stroller, cot, highchair). DVD's, boardgames, books, table tennis, beach toys etc to entertain little ones through to teens. We understand just how valuable family holidays are and we want you to have an amazing time without having to compromise on quality. We naturally ask that you appropriately supervise children at all times both for their safety and to ensure the property and gardens aren't damaged. The backyard is not fully fenced, the house has stairs (stair gates available) and, plus there are some breakable items like most houses. The property is 'child-friendly' but not 'child-proof'; feel free to discuss with us.
Just a few minutes lazy stroll to the water’s edge (160 metres to water to be precise), a picturesque walking track nearby is ideal for walking or bike riding right into the heart of Kingscote (approx 2.4 klms).
There are so many pretty places on the island, but for exploring from a central location and still being close to amenities such as groceries, fuel, cafés, health care etc, we don’t think you can find a better location. Many of the stunning but remote places on the island don't have these amenities, so if you don't want to have to travel half an hour or more for anything at all, being near the main town is a huge bonus. Wildlife is also quite prolific at nighttime, so it's best to avoid driving outside of the towns after dark.
If you're just after a relaxing seaside holiday and have maybe seen the sights before (or will visit again), why not simply fill your days with together-time, beach visits, walks, lazy days, clean air and fish and chips for dinner, followed by a board game night or movie, we're sure you'll go home refreshed. If you're visiting from overseas, we highly recommend maximizing your time by booking an Island tour, we can suggest tour operators.
This property is private & self-contained and therefore isn’t serviced / replenished during your stay. Some convenience items to get you settled in are included and the local supermarket is open 7 days a week for any groceries or other consumables you may need.
We understand that most guests will treat this special property respectfully and have a great time - please relax and enjoy! However, the house is strictly non-smoking, not suitable for pets and no hens/bucks nights, big/wild parties, schoolies groups etc allowed. We naturally include 'normal' cleaning and linen change in the price (after all, you want a real holiday!), but do require that you leave it neat and tidy, spills wiped up, rubbish in bins etc. Damage & non-standard cleaning may incur an additional charge.
If you have any questions at all, including suggested itineraries, feel free to contact us, it's amazing how much there is to actually do on the Island beyond the popular tourist spots. We're friendly, helpful and passionate about KI. If you only have 3 or 4 days, you'll have a fantastic time & see some of the main sights. If you have a week you'll experience most of the popular sites and attractions, and two weeks will give you time to do some of the lesser-know places and fit in some relaxing walks or beach days. After 2 weeks though, you'll probably be in love with the Island & have found your new favorite destination! Some suggested day trips:
