House with large saltwater pool fabulous views firepit on acreage close to Byron
The Lodge is a cosy rustic escape amongst the trees with a large saltwater pool and fabulous views set in a tranquil location, privately apart from the main house on 2 acres of semi-tropical trees and landscaped gardens in Ewingsdale's premier Bay Vista Lane.
Only 5 minutes drive from Byron Bay beaches, markets and town centre with its world-class entertainment, fabulous dining, surfing and famous Byron Bay culture. The Lodge is close to the Farm and wedding venues at Ewingsdale Hall, the Figtree Restaurant, Victoria's at Ewingsdale, and is just a short drive down the freeway to the Bluesfest and Byron Writers festivals, however the Lodge itself is not a party house. The heritage towns of Bangalow and Mullumbimby are a short drive away and also offer quality restaurants, shops and a weekly farmers market for fresh, local, organic produce.
Escape the hustle and bustle of Byron and relax in the hammock on the private, spacious, high-ceilinged deck, set amongst beautiful gum trees with visiting koalas or lie on comfy wooden sunbeds by the large, saltwater pool. Enjoy melodic birdsong and panoramic ocean and rural views stretching all the way from Julian Rocks and Byron Bay lighthouse to the lush green hinterland hills of St Helena.
Swimming at night in the large saltwater pool beneath a star studded sky, by a white dolphin statue & tiger headed wall, among the shimmering rainbows generated by the underwater pool lights, is a truly memorable experience.

We loved our stay in this very comfortable house. Lots of space inside and out and we particularly enjoyed relaxing on the large deck. The pool is an added bonus. The house is well situated for exploring the area, providing a quiet oasis just outside the busyness of Byron Bay.Steve was a good host.
Steve’s Lodge was such a beautiful, peaceful property with a lovely outlook from the deck over the garden and with a view of Byron Bay lighthouse through the trees. We also enjoyed the birds, koalas and sugar gliders. A beautiful location close to all Byron’s amenities. We would love to visit again
Beautiful location close to Byron but far enough out of the hustle and bustle. Stunning natural surroundings were a highlight. Communication with Steve was very easy and effective. Kids loved the dogs!
Ewingsdale is a beautiful place to stay, close to Byron, but quiet and peaceful.
The accomodation is very comfortable and has a lovely outdoor deck overlooking the property.
Our Cavoodle loved the dog friendly beaches nearby and overall we had a very enjoyable stay.
The lodge was awesome, nice and quiet, close to all ammenities. Easy access to beaches.
The owners were excellent, helpful with their knowledge of the area.
The pool was fantastic, kids loved it so did we.
Absolutely awesome stay.
From the moment we drove down the driveway we were impressed.
Private from host great for the family if you want to get away from hustle and bustle this is your place did not want to go home we will return ☺️
Quiet location not too far away from the main town.
Big open space but be mindful that the grounds are hilly and steep to walk around. Plus there is stairs between the main bedroom and living areas
There is a lot of space in the house and having breakfast on the beautiful terrace was always an experience. It was beautiful. We felt very comfortable and we will be back.
This lodge was lovely, has a big porch for a dog and outdoor dining. I stayed here with my family from NZ and they loved it. Short 5 min drive to Byron. Lovely walking areas in the streets surrounding. Lovely birds in trees in front of lodge. Host is great and responds to messages quickly. We had intermittent wifi access but host came and sorted the issue.
Was lovely to stay at Steve’s guest house. The main deck feels like a tree house extension as your greeted by the huge gum trees half way up the tree. Makes it so peaceful.
Our husky had a safe and relaxing time having the deck to move about freely on.
The bedrooms are spacious and well separated providing that much needed solitude and peace at night.
Great value and highly recommend.
The Lodge is so peaceful and quiet. The balcony is a wonderful place to start and end the day. The beach and Byron town centre is only 10 minutes so it really is a wonderful blend of country and coast! The owners Steve and his wife are very responsive and caring. The lodge and main house are next door to each other yet cleverly designed for maximum privacy between the houses. The master suite is downstairs with it's own lounge and ensuite, with direct access to the huge acreage backyard. After my friend had to visit the local emergency hospital (5 mins away) Steve's wife popped in to see if we needed anything even though she wasn't admitted and was discharged after a few hours. The pool was refreshing during the humid days when the beach was a bit too windy. Looking forward back for another stay.

Great location to discover Byron Bay and the surrounding areas.
Great and helpful host but sad to say the property is very dated/antiquated and not kept in a clean condition at all.
Bathroom accessories like shampoo and shower gels were non-existent........what looked like previously used soap bars were offered instead. Beds were uncomfortable with extremely old and stained pillows (under the pillowcases) and mattresses.
The property can be very nice if upated/modernised and thotoughly cleaned up.

Peaceful, relaxing, scenic and dog friendly
We really enjoyed our 5 night winter getaway here. The view from the deck was lovely and our dog loved the expansive yard to run around in..
The deck would be lovely to spend time on in Summer. We found it a little cold as the deck is surrounded by trees and was therefore shaded. We did appreciate the heaters in the evening and extra blankets provided.
We felt that the house could do with a bit of a refresh and update. The kitchen needed a good once over in particular the inside of drawers and the oven hadn’t been cleaned The remote for the tv didn’t work which was annoying.
The owners were unobtrusive despite living right next door and were happy to help with any queries, They offered an abundant supply of oranges from their tree which was most appreciated.

Just thought I'd better respond to the negative aspects of this review even though in the main it is quite good. First to say Sam and her family were really good guests who left the Lodge very neat and tidy. However I don't remember them mentioning a problem with the remote during their stay and the current guests are using it with no problems. Maybe the battery was loose? Obviously we check the oven for every new guests so apologies for missing something. The Lodge was built only ten years ago so not sure about the refresh and update, although I agree the inside of the drawer is a bit worn so will fit some lining in a.s.ap.
Perfect accommodation for us. 4 adults and our border collie. Beautiful outlook from deck with bbq and table and chairs. Only 10 minutes in to Byron and 15 minutes to Bangalow. Plenty of room for our BC to run around. Pool is huge and clean, just needs some renovating.
Great place to escape and relax away from the busy centre of Byron. Only a 5 minute drive and your there anway.
Steve good host and very helpful.
