The cottage was originally a creamery for the dairy farm that was established here in 1860. We added the small kitchen and bathroom when we lived in it while we built the main house next door. It has a snug loft and views on three sides across forest and ocean. Guests are welcome to help themselves to fresh eggs from the chickens, go for a bushwalk or just relax on the verandah. For sleeping, there is a cosy loft accessible by ladder (see photos) which can sleep up to two adults. Bedlinen and towels are supplied. A small kitchen provides most things for everyday cooking, including dishwasher and atove. There is no oven. There is a Weber BBQ outside. The restored bathroom has a restored antique clawfoot bath, shower and toilet. A potbelly stove provides heating through winter (wood supplied). The cottage is very well insulated and generally stays warm in winter and cool in summer. It is a special place with breathtaking views and above all, peace and tranquility offered by the forest. Guests will have the cottage to themselves, as well as sole use of the small garden in front of the cottage, and bushwalking on the property. You are welcome to pick lemons and herbs from the garden, and help yourself to fresh eggs from the chooks. Bushwalks include a ramble through rainforest to the waterfall, and a climb up to the old potato patch for views stretching from Jervis Bay to Batemans Bay. We are happy to help you plan your stay, welcome you on arrival and provide assistance, but once here you will have privacy. Kilfeacle is surrounded by bush, native birds, our cows and local wildlife (wombats are often seen at dusk). It's just a 15 minute drive to historic Milton, famous for its music culture, boutique shops and cafes. Mollymook, Narrawalle and Conjola beaches are also very close, with surf lessons, snorkelling and beautiful Narrawalle inlet just great for small children to play in. The cottage is near our house, but it has a private outlook over three sides with forest, pasture and ocean outlooks.
Cedar Hills Road is unsealed and a little rough, and not suitable for low-slung vehicles. However, most two-wheel drives are ok if driven carefully.
Please be aware that the creek on the entrance road (Cedar Hills Road, a council road) may temporarily flood during periods of heavy rain. Guests may be unable to enter or exit the property while heavy rain persists. We will always notify guests if heavy rain is predicted, but unfortunately forecasts are not always accurate and guests must accept this risk upon booking.

We arrived to the most lovely little cottage and a warm welcome from the host. The property was so wonderfully quiet and tranquil, with spectacular views across the hills towards the sea. We particularly appreciated the company of the hosts’ dog Maggie, who was a wonderful addition & blessing to our stay.
Such an amazing place to stay! We loved our farm stay and the loft cottage was unique but perfect, Kim and Maggie the best hosts, our experience was peaceful and relaxing, loved every minute of it! Thank you.
Couldn’t say a bad thing about our stay! You’re just far enough away to break free from the hustle and bustle of your day to day stress yet still close enough to get down to town and mingle with the friendly locals. Kim and her family are extremely friendly and welcoming and are always available if you need anything. If you’re looking for a break away, I highly recommend this property, you’re only regret will be that you didn’t stay longer.
Kilfeacle Farm surpassed all expectations. I want to keep this gem to myself but Kim and her family deserve all the praise for their stunning and welcoming getaway.
A fantastic base from which to explore the beautiful South Coast. The cottage is cosy and well-equipped. Kim is on hand if needed, yet most of the time you forget that anyone else is even present.
If you're after total peace and quiet, amazing panoramic views, surrounded by lovely cows, chickens, guinea fowl, a very friendly house dog (maggie) and stars that go forever this is the place to go.
We can't wait to return. Thank you Kim & Co.
Kilfeacle Farm cottage was just delightful and the host, Kim, was so warm, welcoming and helpful. Staying here was a beautiful breath of fresh air. The views panoramic to the mountains and ocean. The cottage was cosy and comfortable, and very private. I thoroughly recommend staying here!
The location is just great. The views are beautiful and Kim is a very friendly and obliging host. It's a little piece of paradise to relax and unwind in. There are some lovely walks as well with the owners very friendly dog.
Peaceful, unique, rustic and minimal
Even torrential rain doesn’t stop this place from being a relaxing getaway from our usual hectic life
Great service from Kim and Brendan, they made sure we had everything we needed
My partner and I had a 3 night stay while exploring the walking trails in Morton national park. We absolutely loved the seclusion and comfort this property offers. Kim and Brendan are excellent hosts who ensured we were comfortable yet also afforded us privacy. The accommodation boasts country charm, magnificent views and intriguing history. Maggie the Labrador was great company. We highly recommend a stay at Kilfeacle!
My daughter (3 years) and I had a lovely short stay at Kilfeacle. We enjoyed meeting the cows and chickens and Maggie the Labrador, who accompanied us on some bushwalks over the property. The views are stunning, the cottage delightful and Kim and Brendan very kind and welcoming.
We absolutely loved our 4 nights at Kilfeacle. We could not have asked for more. Kim & Brendan were most welcoming, the cottage well equipped. The location is stunning and Maggie was the icing on the cake! We will back.
We had a wonderful stay, the cottage is as charming as are the hosts. We did a couple of walks or just enjoyed some games next to the fire inside. It’s was unfortunately a bit too windy to use the firepit outside, but we still enjoy the view at any moment of the day.

Beautiful Views, Cute Cottage, Very Basic amenities, Peaceful
Good for a quiet getaway, 1-2 nights ideal,
Mattress on floor gets uncomfortable, power restrictions advised on arrival which was not on property description, road into farm house not good for low vehicles, had a scary encounter with a insect bat in loft whilst trying to sleep. Good one time experience.

Hi Robin,
I'm sorry that you didn't enjoy your stay. We really value our guests having a wonderful experience here at Kilfeacle and are disappointed that yours was the first negative review of 193 positive reviews on airbnb and Homeaway.
As I explained at the time, we had an unexpected electrical fault and had an electrician out to fix it straight away. It was fixed before you left. I am sorry this meant you were unable to use the microwave for a few hours.
You mention that a bat came into the cottage. We do live in an area rich with wildlife and recommend guests close the screen door at dusk and night to keep the wildlife out.
The kingsize bed is comprised of 2 great quality king single mattresses (Sealy Posture Sense). We removed the base to maximise head space in the loft (see our website photos). I'm sorry you found the mattress uncomfortable. We were happy to refund you a nights' accommodation out of goodwill, as it is of highest priority to us that our guests have a good nights' sleep.
The council road is graded for two wheel drive vehicles but you are correct, careful driving is recommended.
Kind regards,
Kim and Brendan

Kim is a wonderful & welcoming host. This little place is perfect for a mini getaway. Can’t get enough of the views in every direction. Relaxing for adults & a wonderful experience for our city kids. Maggie the Labrador was also a wonderful host and companion for the children. We highly recommend & plan to return.

Amazing!
This was a beautiful little break for our family of 4! The property and farm is breathtaking with views for days. The dairy cottage is so well set out and has everything you would ever need. The pot belly stove was superb and heated the whole place so toasty warm for the cold nights we were there. Kim and Brendan are fantastic hosts and made sure we had everything we needed. A truly beautiful place and adventure was had and we'll definitely be back I'm sure. Thank you Kim and Brendan!

So relaxing, a true getaway
We had such a lovely stay - the location is superb and so easy to switch off. The kids loved the bushwalking, treehouse and poking around the veggie patch - I loved lying on the picnic rug and staring at the amazing view. We will definitely come back.

About the host
Hosted by Kim Wilson
We appreciate that the simple things in life are often the best, like fresh air, clean water, wilderness and friendship. We warmly welcome guests of all nationalities, colours and flavours. We want you to relax, unwind and get back in touch with nature.
Why they chose this property
Kilfeacle is a pretty unique place. The forest at the edge of the paddocks is a continuity of the very special Budawang Wilderness Area, home to endangered species of plants and animals. On a clear night the sky is filled with stars, as there is no light at all to be seen to our north and west. You might hear frogs, owls, bats and boobooks, but that is about it. And yet, if you feel like a treat, Milton is only a 10km drive away with the famous Milton Theatre, well-known cafes and award-winning restaurants (like Cuppits, Pilgrims, Nomah, Bannister's and Milkhaus - you have to go!). And we're just 3 hours drive from Sydney. Come and see!
What makes this property unique
Bushwalks on the farm go to the waterfall through the forest, or to the Potato Patch where the old Irish settlers of the 1860s grew potatoes here on Kilfeacle. Kilfeacle Farm is powered entirely by solar (and now wind) power, from lighting to the dishwasher to the solar pump that pumps water for the cattle up to the tanks on the hill. We use rainwater for drinking and bathing and try to run the farm and cottage, and our own household, as sustainably as possible. All kitchen scraps are recycled into the chook house, where the chooks compost and turn them over, making rich compost that eventually goes back on the garden.
