About this property
Surf Beach House - Park Beach - amazing views, sun & surf. Walk to the beach.
Expansive views over the beach and the coastline from every room. Direct beach access just across the quiet road and down a sandy path, only a few minutes walk.
This house sits in a garden overlooking Park Beach, a family friendly surf and swimming beach and coastal paradise. The house has a beautiful outlook with more than just a flat blue ocean horizon; we have islands, peninsulas, headlands, mountains as well as the beach and sunset views.
The beach is ideal for everyone, good for walking, playing, swimming and surfing. Take a short walk along the headland to the whale look-out.
Every room has a view, with a sunroom, lounge and 2 bedrooms all facing the coast. We provide comfortable bed mattresses, and fresh linen is provided for beautiful relaxing sleep.
Quiet and peaceful, with the gentle sound of waves and birds in the trees. If you are careful, you may see an owl, echidna or bandicoot in the garden.
The large kitchen is well appointed, with dishwasher, fan forced oven, microwave, and Delonghi Distinta espresso coffee maker. Lots of pots and pans if you like cooking, and a gas BBQ just outside.
The big sun room has all day sun and some of the best coastal views in the region. There's a dining area to feast while overlooking the beach, a sofa ideal to curl up in the sun, and an adjoining sun-drenched patio with sheltered, sunny outdoor sitting area. You can use the outdoor shower when you come back from the beach.
The house is an older style 1960’s house that was rebuilt in 1989 and updated again in 2016. It is furnished with an eclectic range of current, mid-century and historic furniture and artworks from the 1920 's to the present, all functional and comfortable, and maybe a bit classic and quirky.
This is the perfect place to relax, comfortable no matter what the weather. Sunny and warm in winter (you can relax by the wood heater) and sheltered, sunny and convenient in summer. Large screen 55" LG LED TV and DVD library, Netflix, Stan and WIFI with unlimited high speed NBN. Plenty of off-street parking, and room to park your boat and store your surfboards. Level access is available from the back lane if you need it (on request).
This is a perfect base for exploring Hobart, the Tasman peninsular and beyond.

About the host
Hosted by Andrew Koch

I grew up in Adelaide, Auckland NZ, Barossa Valley and Melbourne, and then fell in love with Tasmania. I worked and travelled overseas for a number of years and now I love hosting and sharing our beautiful private beach house with guests. I'm always happy to help you make the most of your stay and I like to provide local knowledge to my guests.
Why they chose this property
This is our family beach house, it's a place that we gather with our extended family and friends to relax, enjoy walks on the beach, go swimming, surfing and kayaking. It's close to Hobart, in a seaside village with all the conveniences you need to enjoy a holiday. The house is perfectly situated for you to look directly out to watch the waves during the day, and see the Aurora Australis at night over the ocean.
What makes this property unique
Beautiful views from every room, beach access just across the road, and sunset views from the balcony. Large sunroom where you can sit and gaze all along the coast. A 1980’s style house, renewed in 2016 with comfortable beds, eclectic furniture and art, and an outdoor shower for when you come back from the beach.
The house is perfectly situated for you to look directly out to watch the Aurora Australis at night over the ocean.
