Experience this self-contained beach cottage, in beautiful South Avoca beach, only 1 hour from Sydney, but a million miles from the stresses of City life.

Seashells is only a 200 metre stroll to the South end of Avoca beach, where the trendy cafes, South Avoca Surf Club, children’s rockpool and playground, the famous Avoca Cinema and the stunning South Avoca Beach await. The Cottage is set back on the hillside so you can enjoy peace and privacy whilst still being close to all the activities of Avoca Beach.

The Cottage is an original Australian beach shack, updated and modernised to be a comfortable family home with luxurious Hamptons styling, but still containing the gorgeous original features reminiscent of childhood holidays by the beach.

The Cottage is surrounded by a wrap-around deck, complete with a hammock and cape cod chairs to soak up the afternoon sun and sea breezes, and a table with seating for 8 with an outdoor overhead fan to keep cool on those hot summer days.

The Cottage is child and pet friendly, with a large, fully fenced lawn and a downstairs bunk area with couch, TV and DVD player so the kids can play downstairs while the parents relax upstairs.

Accommodation

Seashells at Avoca is perfect for a romantic break for one or two couples and easily accommodates families. The cottage has three bedrooms: 2 large queen rooms upstairs and a bunk room downstairs with a double/ single bunk combination sleeping 3. There are also 2 bathrooms and full laundry facilities.

The beds are made up with luxury linens, pillow top mattresses and fluffy quilts to keep you toasty on cold Winter nights and plenty of fans to cool you down in Summer. The upstairs bedrooms both have overhead fans and open to the deck (with flyscreen doors) so you can enjoy the cooling Summer breezes while you sleep.

The cottage is two storeys, with a living room on each floor, so there is plenty of space for everyone to spread out. Read a book in the hammock upstairs, while the kids watch a DVD on the brand new Sony flat screen TV downstairs.

The kitchen is a delight to whip up a meal with loved ones, with an electric cook top, oven, grill, dishwasher and microwave. Alternatively, you could cook outside under the stars, with a BBQ next to the deck.

We supply luxury linen, towels, candles, bath products, iPod and CD Player, board games, books, a fully stocked kitchen complete with a Nespresso Coffee machine, coffee capsules and a selection of quality teas to ensure your stay is the perfect blend of romance, fun and relaxation.

You have the cottage and the property for your exclusive use. You can even bring your pet. The garden is fully enclosed so you can leave your dog at home whilst you go to the famous Avoca cinema for a movie and a glass of wine. Or take your dog down to Avoca Beach to enjoy a swim (the beach is pet friendly from the lagoon and is doggy heaven for four legged friends).

The Surrounding Area

If you can drag yourself away from the cottage, all this is only a short 200 metre stroll to the South end of Avoca Beach, with its many restaurants, shops and cafes for you to choose from.

Leave the car at home and stroll back to the cottage under the stars, before enjoying a nightcap on the cape cod chairs enjoying the stars and the sea breezes with someone special or just sink into the comfortable beds with luxury linens for a restful sleep.

Avoca has a vibrant surf culture and a relaxed and friendly ambience. There are lots of things to do, including fishing, beach walking and exploring the nearby parks and headlands.

The long stretch of beach is perfect for both novice and experienced surfers, and it's also ideal for recreational swimming. There are also world class scuba diving sites nearby including the site of the ex-HMAS Adelaide, a former Australian warship that was deliberately sunk to create an artificial reef.

Behind the beach lies tranquil Avoca Lake (an easy 10 minute walk along the beach from Seashells). Visit Acqua Fun on Avoca Lake to explore the waterways by kayak or pedal boat.

The local Friendly Grocer, Avoca Butcher and BWS offer everything you need to cater for your holiday and Coles is an easy 15 minute drive away in Kincumber. Westfield at Erina is around 20 minutes away.

The Avoca Beachside Markets are held on the fourth Sunday of the month at the Heazlett Park Foreshore. There are over 100 stalls, with everything from homewares, local arts and crafts, to artisanal and international foods. With the ocean as its backdrop, this bustling community market is worth checking out.

Nearby, Terrigal, Killcaire and Ettalong Beaches are well worth a visit or just stay in Avoca and enjoy the multitude of activities it has to offer.
