Nestled amongst the tree tops in a quiet, secluded part of Venus Bay, The Magic Beach Cottage is a lovely 2-bedroom house within walking distance of nearby beaches. The house is named after a children's book written by a Venus Bay local!

Just a 20 minute drive from Inverloch and a 30 minute drive from Leongatha, the house backs onto the dunes of the beautiful Cape Liptrap Coastal Park and the long stretches of beach in Venus Bay. The Doyles Road (Anderson Inlet) beach is just a few minutes drive away, and is a safer swimming option for children. It also offers a designated dog off leash area all year round.

The house features an open plan living/kitchen/dining area that looks out onto the spacious deck and the tree tops of Cape Liptrap Coastal park. It offers a fully equipped kitchen with stove, oven, a full-sized fridge and even a coffee maker. At night or for those times you'd like to stay in, there is a 107cm satellite TV, a Blu Ray player, books and board games to keep you and your family thoroughly entertained. You can relax in the sunshine on the large open deck overlooking the tree tops listening to birds who frequent the bird feeder, or cook up a BBQ in the covered outdoor area.

The 2 bedrooms can comfortably sleep 6 people. Bedroom 1 has a queen-size bed and sleeps 2 and looks out onto the deck and spectacular tree tops. Bedroom 2 sleeps 4, has a double bed and bunk bed suitable for children. Bed linen can be provided at an additional cost.

The house features reverse cycle air-conditioning, a wood combustion heater for those chilly nights, fans and double glazed windows to keep the temperature as desired. And if you'd like to do some laundry a washing machine is also available.

For fishing enthusiasts, there is a boat ramp with a jetty a 10-minute walk. The beach at Doyles Road offers inlet fishing or you can beach fish on any of the Venus Bay beaches. There is a tackle and bait shop located in the township. Tarwin Lower boasts several boardwalks along the picturesque Tarwin River with another boat ramp.

Please note that we require a deposit of 20 percent of total amount to confirm your booking. The balance along with a $200 refundable bond and a small cleaning fee of $50 is due closer to check in.

Beach getaway nestled in the tea trees

A well appointed beach getaway nestled in the tea trees. Large living space with good speed WiFi, BlueTooth speaker, TV with Chromecast. Reasonably appointed kitchen. Complimentary coffee pods. Very quiet with excellent privacy.

The magic cottage was that exactly. Beautiful,cozy, clean and surrounded by beautiful trees. Close to the beach, great fishing, swimming or just long walks. My family and i had an awesome relaxing time. communicating with the owner Jen was a pleasure, she was wonderful, providing contant information and updates for my booking. Comfortable Cottage

The Cottage needs a bit of repair work - the front door was very hard to open, the toilet door was sticking and we felt the steps were quite unstable leading from the drive to the house. The TV had been updated and wouldn't work. Contact with the owner, cleaner and maintenance man had this corrected on Saturday evening. We enjoyed our stay but little things could have made it even better.

Nice spot but needs work

The house was peaceful and clean and we enjoyed the coffee machine, the deck and little touches like the lamps. Jen was a fantastic host and bent over backwards to make sure we had everything we needed. However we didn't feel like the price was justified for the state of the property, which is fairly basic and had some maintenance issues. For example the oven handle had fallen off and not been replaced; the bathroom towel rail was held up with string; there were no towels or spare blankets; there were only two bowls for the 4 of us to eat from and some condiments were provided but they were almost all either empty or out of date. There was no running water when we arrived and we had to scout around in the bushes to find a tap to switch it on, getting an electric shock in the process. Jen was so lovely and I'm sure these issues could be rectified but we felt like paid for a quality holiday house but experienced a friend's old shack.

The perfect getaway to unwind

The home is quite spacious and cozy. Has everything you need for a holiday! Despite it not being as clean as observed in the pictures, we were happy with the condition of the house. The very close proximity to nearby beaches was the absolute highlight of our trip and was very enjoyable for my family and I. From the very beginning, the owner Jen, was very easygoing, friendly and easy to communicate with. Highly recommend the Magic Beach Cottage. Looking forward to visiting and staying here again!
