*Property sleeps a maximum of 6 adults and 2 kids. Please advise at time of booking with ages groups and why you're visiting :)
*We now provide all linen for your stay. All you need to do is bring your own towels.
* Please note we do not accept bookings for trade/worker accommodation.
* Deal with the host, not a management company. We know exactly what's happening with the property at all times.
*Our Cleaning fee is charged to maintain the cleanliness of the property after each stay. It includes full house clean and sanitize, SPA drain, clean, sanitize, and refill after every guest, linen removal and change after every stay.
PLEASE NOTE: If there are back to back bookings, and cold winter weather, the spa may not be ready at your desired temperature until approximately 8 to 9 pm of your first night. (This is due to the fact we change spa water over with every booking to provide you with a clean hygienic spa)
Relax and unwind at River Respite @ Young Husband. Take in the beautiful river and sprawling country views as you relax in our outdoor spa, sip your wine on the large out door deck or toast your marshmallows by one of the large out door fire pits and take in the magnificent cliffs.
River Respite is located away from other shack groups which gives you the privacy and peace that is hard to find. Watch your kids playing on the front lawn while you cook up a feast on the BBQ or sit peacefully and watch the abundance of bird life fly by.
River Respite is a special spot for families and couples looking to get away from the chaos of peak time river usage while still being able to enjoy the fun of the river.
River front access and professional floating jetty is located just a short walk from the front of the property and can be seen from the front lawn and house at all times.
Younghusband is an Ideal location for all water sports and activities known for its calmer waters.
Private river access with jetty is for our guests only it is not shared - it is also gated
Please inform us if you have boats or skis. Canoes are complimentary.
Pet's allowed inside but not on furniture. We ask you clean up after your dog. Eg. Hair and poop. please inform us if you wish to bring your pet(s) and add them to the guest list.
The Property is fully fenced with cattle fencing, Smaller dogs may get through or dogs which like to jump fences. we ask you not leave dogs unattended at the property - please check that the property is suitable for your dog.
All linen provided except for bathroom towels.
Younghusband is part of Australia’s only Dark Sky Reserve! Excellent for viewing the stars! Even better with our telescope!

All rubbish to be disposed of in bins provided. Take rubbish with you if needed No burning of unnatural materials. No excessive use of motorized water crafts in front of neighboring shacks, including ours. No fireworks No smoking on the entire property including out door areas Do not collect wood from neighboring properties or drag wood through property. No fish cleaning at the house Do not park vehicles on lawn areas Do not leave dog beds, ski equipment, towels ect on lawn area for long periods Do not attempt to turn off security systems Please leave the property in a clean and satisfactory manner. Extra fees my apply if more time is required to clean.

Failure to follow any of the above may result in partial or full bond being forfeited
There are cameras in use. They face the front driveway, front lawn for watering, the back yard/driveway and back gate. They record 24hrs 7 days a week. Please do not exceed your booked amount of people without permission.
Full bond forfeited for neighbor complaints, additional unapproved guests, trespassing onto neighboring properties, cutting of trees down for fire wood.

A fantastic properly that has everything you need for a relaxing stay. Very clean and tidy. The spa is wonderful. A beautiful and quiet place to relax. We will definitely be back.
Had a fantastic weekend getaway at this property. So tranquil and quiet yet plenty to keep our two boys occupied. Loved having the pontoon to fish off of, many hours were spent on there!
Great little shak in a lovely quiet area right on the river front. Host was super responsive and helpful. We really enjoyed fishing, canoeing and watching the big boats float by. We loved our time at river respite and would definitely come back again.
We had such an amazing time here. Thank you to our hosts who made the whole process and stay comfortable and seamless. We are dedinitely considering another stay :)
Had a lovely stay, everything was catered for. Place was clean and tidy. Good location close to the river. Would highly recommend if your looking for a nice serene break.
Absolutely beautiful property and location loved lazing in the spa looking over the river host was very easy to deal with. Will definitely stay here again.
Loved our stay at this little river shack, comfortable beds and everything we needed for a great stay.
The kids loved the table tennis table and we loved that we could keep the boat moored up at the jetty, it was a little bit hard trying to work out where we would keep the boat on the first night but great instructions left.
Amazing location on a quiet area of the river. Our family enjoyed some down time at the property and had a great stay. Table Tennis was so much fun!

We stayed here for our anniversary and had such a wonderful weekend. The view of the river is just gorgeous and the spa made it extra special. We loved being able to bring the tinny and dogs. It is perfect little river shack, with everything you could possibly need to enjoy your stay. Our weekend went way too quickly.

House nice and tidy and well equipped. Enjoyed our stay.Althou photos are misleading .Drive way was difficult with quite a drop on the side.. very short steep walk down and across 80 km road to get to the jetty .bring own drinking water and the free wifi is limited to 25 gb and then you have to pay on the house account if need more. Over all was value for money.but felt as if there were too many rules and were kept a eye one through the three cameras on property.but very clean comfortable house

In response to your three-star review, I would like to provide some additional context to clarify the misleading content you have mentioned.
Photos are not misleading. Our listing features numerous photographs of the property at various times. If you had any questions, you could have contacted us. The description explicitly states that the property is an elevated river home, and for this purpose, we are situated on a small hill to achieve the desired views of the main river and the Backwaters you see. There is also a drone shot of the house and land which cleary shows the distance from the river.
The road speed is not 80 km/h. In our area, the speed limit is 60 km/h, as there are other properties nearby, albeit they are some distance away.
The road is not a major road, and access to it is mostly only used by property owners so traffic is rare.
The driveway is actually a council road, and we are unable to make significant improvements to it. Therefore, it is considered safe and sufficient for its current purpose.
We provide a substantial supply of drinking water. However, we advise our guests who plan to stay for extended periods or have specific water requirements to bring their own. This is explicitly mentioned in the description as the house is ran off river water.
The Wi-Fi network is adequate for most stays under a week. During your stay, we recharged your account multiple times due to excessive usage of 25 GB per day. This usage is considered high and is regrettable, as it prevented you and your children from fully enjoying the outdoor nature of the property, which is a common experience for our other guests.
It is important to note that we cannot provide unlimited Internet in this location.
I am unsure which specific rule you may be referring to that you wish to break or have issues with. As a property owner, it is essential to have rules in place to protect both ourselves and our neighbors from any disruptions to their experience and to prevent potential damage. We also have to state all the rules so Airbnb can charge guests who do the wrong thing.
Regarding the cameras, we have clearly stated in the description that they are only positioned to face the exterior of the property, including the front area, back area, and driveway. This is to ensure that the security can remain up-to-date even when there are no occupants present.
As you can imagine, during the week, the property is exceptionally quiet. The cameras allow us to be sure cleaning maintenance, lawn mowing, and other upkeep is carried out to provide our guests with an exceptional and enjoyable stay.
All the essential details you mentioned, such as the availability of drinking water, internet connectivity, property location, elevation, cameras, rules, and more, are meticulously detailed in the property description. You could have thoroughly reviewed these documents prior to booking and had any questions you may have promptly addressed with us.
It is important to note that you left the property in a rather poor condition, necessitating additional time for our cleaner to return and thoroughly clean up after your pet. It is crucial to emphasize that pets are strictly prohibited from occupying furniture, including beds.
As a pet-friendly holiday accommodation, we must maintain a pristine and hair-free environment to ensure that both pet and non-pet guests can enjoy their stay. Unfortunately, we were disappointed that you did not adhere to this rule, resulting in the incurred additional cleaning fees that you were charged.
I’ll also note that you contacted us multiple times throughout your stay and we promptly replied to each one. On the day of checkout, you asked us to check for a shirt with an apparent $100 in the pocket. Our cleaner spent a considerable amount of time looking for it, as I could imagine how important it was to you. After searching for some time, we couldn’t find it. You had informed us that you had actually packed it…
To provide further context, the photos numbered 11 and 13 showcase the elevation of the property and the front road, as mentioned by you.
This is our second tear platform, and I invite you to visit the major competitor’s platform, where we have amassed numerous positive stays at both of our properties, with an impressive count of nearly 100.
You will also note that guests staying immediate after you have left a 5 star review having a great experience as nearly everyone does.
I feel it’s unfortunate you did not take the extra time to review all the description before booking as you may have been more prepared for your stay.
The shack was very clean with everything we needed for an enjoyable stay, we loved the spa and being able to look out over the river. Peaceful and relaxing and our little dog loved it too. If you are after a relaxing few days, just chilling and watching the birds and boats go by then this is the place for you ! A homely shack like property with a great outside entertaining area and an amazing hot tub, enough grass and garden for the dogs and a private pontoon with kayaks a short walk away. We loved it ! Just a heads up for dog people the fencing could be better ;)
Everything about this house was exactly what we’d hoped for - and more: Amazing views, brilliant outside entertainment area (spa - yeah!), comfortable beds, and all the amenities we could ask for, plus more - everything from 2 big fridges and a great quality washing machine, to those little things like sauces, sugar and dishwasher tablets.
Hosts were lovely - really friendly and great communication.
Would we stay there again? Absolutely!!!

Loved everything about this holiday home. From the excellent communication with the host to the stunning location of this amazing property and everything in between. We could not have been happier. So clean and roomy enough for everyone but still very cosy! I was pleasantly surprised to see the mountains and cliffs behind the property and the river in front of the property. Such an amazing view on both sides. Negatives… if I had to be picky was that the little jetty was a bit further than expected (not in the backyard as I had envisioned from the photos etc) but still close enough. And the Wifi and reception was spotty and rarely available so be prepared to go off grid in that aspect but with so much to do at and around the home the peace and quiet was actually welcomed!

Looks like you were able to utilize 50gb of data during your stay . As there is no NBN in this location we must rely on cellular network it can become congested at peak times like long weekends etc.
From our elevated position the jetty is directly in front of the property, it can be seen from the front lawn of the house and accessible via the stairs as per the photos listed.
A lovely shack by the river, with beautiful view and back drop. Has everything you need, and is comfortable.
