The cutest little place for one person with the kindest host! If you are looking for a cozy getaway with gorgeous views, intimate experiences with kind locals, and nature explanation, this is the place for you. I would absolutely stay again 5/5
I was only able to spend one night at Ted's Tiny House, after dropping off my son, who spent three weeks there. It is incredibly peaceful. The Tiny House is very well equipped. I was surprised to find a full-sized cooker with an oven. The location is ideal for visiting Maine Maritime Academy and exploring Castine.Ted is an excellent host, and was very responsive to my questions before the visit.Thank you, Ted!
Tiny House is beautifully and cleverly designed with the garage door opening to a suddenly wall-less and aroma filled cottage. The loft access is also clever although mildly acrobatic, the bed is comfortable and the occasional rain on the roof and creak of the mermaid weathervane is cozy. The rose garden includes gorgeous heirloom roses and the shared spaces are again cleverly divided with colorful and well landscaped foliage. Ted was a magnificent host, showed incredibly useful knowledge of the area and a remarkable pie-plomacy. Castine is a wonderful little town and we had a blast.

Lee and her partner were the BEST! Few people get the character and novelty of the Tiny House as well as they did, and having built it from scratch (and my imagination) I am always delighted when guests find it both amusing and comfortable. Yes, please open the garage door and let the outside world in, as Lee did, healing and joy will be your companions! Lee is welcome back, perhaps next time she’ll bring friends and stay at the Carriage House- our newest offering.
We had a really wonderful time here with a large family of 11 (3 kids ages 4, 4, and 2.5 and 8 adults). The house had plenty of space for everyone. We originally didn’t understand that there are three homes to rent on the property. If you want to ensure you have the place to yourself, you should rent all three properties together. When the owner cleared that up, we rented the tiny house as well as the main house. He generously upgraded our tiny house rental to the carriage house with no charge, and that arrangement worked very well for our family. The kitchens in the houses were well equipped with plenty of dishes, utensils, a toaster oven, pots and pans. We made most meals at the house and we weren’t missing anything. All of the beds were comfortable and had clean linens. There were plenty of bath towels and beach towels at both houses. The gardens around the property were beautiful. The location of the home was nice as well. It was great to be within walking distance of town without being in the town. All in all, it was a great place.
