Such a beautiful spot to escape to. Michelle and David are super hosts and the place is a brilliant place to relax and unwind.
Amazing views, nice and private in a fantastic location.
Can't wait to go again!
This house has been on my bucket list for years and it definitely lived up to expectations! Even with the cloudy weather, the views were great and the house had everything we could have needed for a relaxing few days! Would 100% stay again!
This is a fantastic eco house with all the amenities you would need. The house is super cosy with breathtaking views of Hawke's Bay. Easy walk to Waimarama Beach which is beautiful and fun to walk along. Highly recommended.
This is a unique property, well worth visiting. We spent four nights here and had a delightful stay. Four seasons in one day weather was no problem, with plenty to do inside and out. Definitely recommend. Hosts were very responsive to communications, and everything was easy to navigate.
I must say the view was just awesome and calming. We noticed that we were in complete silence and we live rural so it was pleasantly bizzare that it was quieter than home. Easy access and enjoyed the beach walks which was 5 min walk.
Just as described, really liked that there were lots of choices sit outside, in or out of the sun or wind. Local store has a very small selection but great takeaway and ice cream - closed Mon-Tues.
Space as great, very relaxing and sits on a lovely elevated aspect
We enjoyed our time here, made for a much needed 3 day getaway with the doggos. Unfortunately the weather in Nov was a little variable so we couldn't quite make as much use of the outdoor facilities as we might have, but when the weather had a break the deck area was lovely. Still went for beach walks (albeit a bit wrapped up against the cool winds that weekend) - its really quick to walk to the beach. Would definitely stay again.
We came to Hawkes Bay for the Robbie Williams concert. It was good to get away from the crowds in Havelock North and Napier.
Waimarama is a great spot, a really nice beach community. The house itself was well set up, but we did feel the heat at night time, I am sure we could have cooled it down a bit more if we tried.
But a great stay.
Thank you for sharing this stunning property . We have wanted to stay at First Light for a while and finally had the opportunity to book. The property doesnt fail to impress, the views are amazing and the bach is modern cozy and unique.
The weather did fail us but we still really enjoyed our stay. Thank you so much.

Some amenities not available and not told before, hottub bbq. Parts not cleaned but most was.A relaxing old bach with cool sea view, Owner said shop closed early in afternoons but unfortunately for us that was wrong the shop had sign saying it was closed for another week, so so disappointed as went for weekend at beach with fish and chips on the beach and bbq, if we knew they both weren't available we would have gone a different week, But the view out to sea over the houses in front is great and altho your back away from the beach up near the top of the hill the sound of the beach at the bach is like you are close and its very soothing and relaxing just laying on the deck listening to the surf, I waited years to go to this bach just wish it had been cleaned a bit more and been ready to use, really missed having BBQ like our last visit maybe its a new owner but even the electric jug had bare wires, some cutlery and pans had been put away unwashed too.
