Chalet Retreat
This was a charming spot for traveling on business in Johnson City. My only complaint is that there were so many lights turned on outside at night that there was not a place to be quiet with a fire and the night's stars. That would really help this place for those who seek such a thing. Also, to be on such a beautiful steep mountainside there wasn't a trail to go up and explore the incredible forest behind the chalets.
Beautiful scenery. Tiger Creek actually runs through the property. The cabin we stayed in was like a studio apartment. Very cozy for 2 people & your fur baby. You get WiFi,
no cell service or cable. WiFi was going in and out (unplug part). We brought games to have some fun at night.
We mainly went to unwind & decompress & it did the job. The Property manager was very nice & helpful.
The scenery on Roan Mountain was simply stunning this time of year.
Would definitely stay here again.

Very Misleading
The information sent to me from Evolve was very misleading. The cabin pictures changed AFTER my trip. They were originally pictures of the cabin next door but now they show the correct place. I expected a nice 1 bed, 1 bath with a living room and kitchen area but when I arrived, it did not match the listing or pictures at all! The place was covered In ladybugs, had appliances straight out of the 80s, and did I mention you can’t drink the water? The staff does not respond to any texts or calls either. I’m very disappointed in this trip.
This little cabin was in a great location right on the creek. The only reason I didn’t give it a five-star rating is due to the window coverings…or lack there of. The windows only had blinds on them. Actually, some of the windows had no coverings at all. The blinds that were there did not work so the windows could not be totally covered. There was not any curtains on any of the windows so the light coming through made it very difficult to get any rest. I was there for a funeral and had traveled from the other side of the country so rest was very important to me, but sadly, I was not able to rest my entire stay due to the lack of window coverings. Plus, it just didn’t feel very private. The property host, Nicole, was super sweet, friendly, and helpful. I would absolutely stay here again if I could be assured the window situation had been resolved.
