Wellington Lake Retreat is modern, fresh, spacious and totally relaxing.
The Space:
The first thing you'll notice about Wellington Lake Retreat is the peace and quiet. Tucked away at the back of Wellington Marina, the house faces the lake and park, and has only one neighbour.
Fully fenced, with full wheelchair access to all areas, including the spacious entertaining deck, this house caters beautifully for the disabled and elderly, with a fully fitted out disabled bathroom.
The four spacious bedrooms all have ensuites, and the living areas are spacious and well set out for entertaining your friends and family. All linen and towels are provided.
Ducted air conditioning/heating throughout, high-end appliances and BBQ, laundry, all linens and towels, and a great yard for the kids to play, everything has been thought of. Just pack your clothes, food and some beautiful wine, and you will be set for a relaxing and fun stay, with nothing else to do.
Guest Access:
Guests will have the entire property to themselves.
The Neighborhood:
Wellington Lake Retreat is the perfect river getaway, at any time of the year. Located close to the lake in Wellington Marina, guests can enjoy the private community facilities, the lake, and river beyond. The convenience of all amenities is just a 10 minute drive to Tailem Bend.
The marina is quiet, safe and ideal for kids to roam on their bikes and explore.
This property enjoys easy and quick access to the Princes Highway. Local attractions include The Bend Motorsport Park (approximately 15 minutes), and the iconic Monarto Zoo (35 minutes). Nearby wine regions include Langhorne Creek (30 minutes), the Adelaide Hills (45 minutes) and the Barossa (1 hour).
If you love to explore in your car, the stunning Coorong is just half an hour drive. Check out the beaches, lagoons, river and lakes in the truly magical Storm Boy country.
And, one of our favourite things to do if you bring your boat is to motor across the river to have lunch at one of the authentic pubs on the water front. We suggest the Riverside at Tailem Bend (only 15 minutes in the boat), the historic Wellington Pub (less than 5 minutes across the lake!), or the Riverscape cafe/restaurant at Sturt Reserve, Murray Bridge.
Getting Around:
Can't sit still? Pack the bikes and wander around the marina, or head across the river to Wellington for a great ride. The area is quiet and safe for the kids to cycle around - they'll feel independent and stay out of your hair for hours!
And don't forget the kayaks - the lake is very safe in tranquil weather and perfect for the kids to paddle around in as there are no speedboats.
Other Things to Note:
There is no WIFI at the property
Interaction with Guests:
Wellington Lake Retreat is fully self-contained for your privacy. We encourage you to call us if you require assistance or have any questions during your stay, and above all, we will respect your privacy.

Very spacious house with all four bedrooms having an ensuite each. Has a good size nicely kept grass area. Neat & tidy deck. Very wheelchair friendly with ramps & own bathroom (shower & toilet) especially fitted. Has a view of the river
Has At The Hall cafe in walking distance
Just lacked a gate to stop the child from running out the front & had plenty of bugs (outside) which is the only slight negative
The property was exactly as advertised, with two main living areas, a good-sized kitchen, and four large bedrooms, each with its own ensuite. Despite the rainy weather during our stay, the internal space was large enough to house all of us comfortably. It was a great and cost-effective option for a family trip over Christmas, and we especially enjoyed the Wellington Pub as a local place to eat.
However, there were a few areas where the property could be improved. Firstly, the owner should provide more glasses and serving equipment, as well as an upgrade to the scratched cooking pots and pans. Secondly, Wi-Fi would be a great bonus, as the phone reception was terrible which made streaming music difficult. The broken TV in the front room (1 of 2 TVs) needs to be replaced. Lastly, providing soap for the shower would be a small but thoughtful touch that would be well-received by guests.
Despite these minor issues, the place was well-designed and had a great layout for a group to stay comfortably together. Overall, I would recommend this property and we would be keen to stay again if the opportunity arose.
This place was very beautiful. Each room had a very comfortable bed and ensuite which was very luxurious for us. Kitchen has high quality appliances which made cooking at the location very easy. Loved that there we comfortable sofa and dining chairs to fit the family. Overall, we enjoyed this place so much. Will recommend it to others and will definitely be returning again. Thank you.
