Muskoka Waterfront Cottage on 54 acres, 10 minutes from Gravenhurst
Fabulous cottage for getaways with a group of family or friends.
2800 sq.ft. cottage with 1000 sq. foot great room with 16 foot ceilings; includes a living room and dining room separated by a two-sided fireplace, a harvest table that seats 12 people, and an open kitchen.
192 sq.ft. Muskoka room (screened porch) for bug-free outdoor dining and fold-up tables for endless game options. Plus it's a great place to enjoy the spectacular sunsets.
Master bedroom/bathroom in a separate wing with a private deck. The other wing has 4 bedrooms and a full bathroom. The downstairs “tree fort” room is a kids haven, complete with a granite "jumping rock", pop-a-shot dual basketball game, 2 queen size bunks and the 3rd bathroom. Playpen and booster seat available.
Endless options for fun at the lake: private beach with shallow water for the first few feet, docks, swim raft, lily pad, 2 sit-on kayaks suitable for adults and kids alike, 2 paddleboards, canoe, croquet, slack line and fire pit. Gated stairs to the lake (child safety).
Treefort
11 foot, spring-free trampoline
Great hiking around the 54 acre property.
Plenty of parking for multiple cars.
Starlink Wifi, propane BBQ, washer/dryer, microwave, dishwasher, stove, 2 fridges (bought 2023 and 2024), 65" smart TV on hydraulic lift so it stores in a wooden box behind the loveseat when not in use.
Lots of activities on the property to keep you busy.
If you want to venture out a few minutes away, try some shopping at the Muskoka Wharf, a cruise on the Muskoka Steamships, get some local fare at Farmer's market (Wednesdays in the summer), or treat yourselves to a premium round of golf at Muskoka Bay.
Review prior to VRBO listing:
"We couldn’t have asked for a more wonderful place to have our first experience of Canadian cottage life. An easy drive from Gravenhurst and perfectly situated to enjoy the most amazing golden hours from many vantage points.
The great room has huge proportions and the screened in eating porch makes entertaining with a large group effortless.
Great property for exploring and easy swimming with a private beach and swim dock.
Kathleen is an excellent host with everything (and more!) that you could need being provided.
Would not hesitate to recommend."

About the host
Hosted by Kathleen C.

We're a family who lives in Toronto and escapes to our cottage haven as often as we can. With 2 busy young adults, our trips became less frequent than we'd like. We love our cottage so much, we think that if we can't be there, someone else should enjoy it.
Why they chose this property
It's an ideal property for getting your family or friends together.
My husband and I lived in our bunkie/swim cabin by the lake for 6 years before we built our dream cottage. It's got some of our favourite features in a cottage -- lots of beds and bedrooms so we can always be surrounded by family and friends, a big Muskoka (indoor/outdoor) room for eating and gaming without annoying bugs, a large open great room so we are all together in the living space, a kid-friendly basement for keeping kids entertained when you're not at the lake (and there's a giant rock in the basement!), a reading nook for anyone needing to escape the commotion, "privacy" doors to minimize living area noise for sleepers, a separate wing for the master bedroom/bathroom/deck, and so many possibilities for outdoor fun.
