We liked how nice the dock was and really enjoyed the easy access to the water, the house was well stocked for a few days, had floaties and rafts already there for convenience, the house was nice and had good privacy.

Wonderful retreat
We just recently stayed here. The house was great and the kitchen was well stocked.
We enjoyed the dock and the lake and would highly recommended this place for a family retreat.
What a fantastic week! The location is wonderful, plenty of woods & privacy. Amazing views from the decks and dock. The kayak is a fun way to explore. The house is very clean. The kitchen is ideal for food prep, the griddle allows you to cook all meals outside while enjoying the view. Will definitely be back!
Nice home that has been updated. Although on the smaller side, the layout made it feel much larger. Having ping pong and mortal combat in the basement was an added bonus the 4 teenage boys loved! Steps from the house to the dock are very steep, you will get a workout!
Outside decks and walkways need some pressure washing and regular sweeping but the inside was very clean and well appointed. We enjoyed the dock and the kayaks and the beds were very comfortable. Outdoor cooking set up is very nice but the deck is too small for the amount of furniture there. Not enough comfortable seating in living room. Generally it’s a great casual hang out for 6-8 people at a reasonable price in a location that met our needs being about half way between our daughters’ houses in Richmond and Raleigh. If you like power boating it’s a nice lake, but a little crowded and noisy for this Vermonter.
Lots of cobwebs, refrigerator shelves had sticky residue, no top sheets provided. Just box sheets which would have been nice to know. Everything shown on photos was good but need to be updated because they're is more available than currently shown :-)
This house was good for our 2 small families. There was plenty of room and entertainment for the kids. Plenty of outdoor space with the 2 decks and dock with a great lake view. The kitchen was moderately stocked, it had most of the essentials, but missing some things like lager bowls for mixing or salad, cutting board, pasta strainer. The beds were ok, the linens weren’t the most comfortable and would honestly recommend bringing your own. But overall, our stay was good.
This trip we had three adults, one teenager and one preteen for 4 nights. The house was the perfect size for us and clean upon arrival. The check-in was smooth and parking was ample for more than the two cars we brought. Internet was very important to us and it worked great! There were a lot of stairs, but we knew that when we booked this house. Kids had a great time fishing, swimming, jumping off the decks and playing ping pong. First night we caught a 20 pound and a 15 pound catfish so the guys were super happy! The water was pretty deep right off the dock, which was great for us. I would recommend this house and would return in the future.

Lake Gaston house
House was as advertised and we enjoyed our stay, mostly. Unfinished basement has lots of fun games for rainy weather. Lots of space, nice upgrades, and comfy furniture. The dock has very little furniture so you may want to bring folding beach chairs. As previously mentioned the dock lights do not work. I asked the owner about it who said someone would come to check it out but never did. If you plan on evening fishing or hanging out past dark, bring a lantern or other light.
The house was neat and tidy, had a stocked kitchen as well as lots of items for the dock and lake, including deck chairs, chaise lounge chairs, rafts, life vests, fishing poles, beach towels, and a kayak. We loved jumping off the top deck into the water. In August, the water is the perfect temperature. The lights down at the dock were not working, and the steps leading to the dock are numerous and unfortunately not consistent with their height and sizing so this required very careful travel, having to pay attention to your footing in order to avoid a misstep.
House was nice & located in a peaceful cove.
I would recommend that the owners invest in some more kitchenware and get a trash service.
Thank you for sharing your home!
Newly renovated property on Lake Gaston. Plenty of room for two families of 4. The kitchen is well appointed with everything that you would ever need. New beds, furniture, flooring and appliances made our stay very enjoyable. The kids enjoyed staying in the bunk bed room and claimed the downstairs basement all to their own! They enjoyed playing ping pong, foosball and darts. We enjoyed using the flat top grill for making our breakfast and dinners with a gorgeous view of the lake below. We parked our 2 waverunners at the dock, used the near by Marina to put them in and out of the water. The fishing at the dock was great! We caught several different kinds of fish, including 2 HUGE Catfish our last night! We got a great workout climbing up and down the stairs to the lake. We will be back for sure! Thanks again!
