Historic Home of Taos Artist -Peak Season Dates Available! Best Location
STVR permit# STR 2018-00012
There are many houses in Taos for visitors to choose from, but this one stands out for its authenticity and charm. Built by men from the Taos Pueblo in the 1940's for the artist Charles H. Reynolds and his wife Ruth, it is unique and very lovely. The home is furnished with many of the original antiques, and the walls are hung with paintings by Reynolds and many of his contemporaries. You will feel as if you have stepped back in time, surrounded by thick adobe walls and hand carved beams in the ceilings. The fireplace crackles with pinion wood fires in the winter, scenting the air with its fragrance. Modern amenities include a high efficiency heater, high speed internet, comfortable beds, and a well equipped kitchen with a dishwasher and microwave oven. There is a washer and dryer and supplies available for your convenience. One bedroom has a queen bed, the small sunroom has a twin bed, and there is a sweet cubby with another twin bed. The bathroom is finished with Mexican tile work and has a tub and a shower. There is a large shady porch for dining in the summer, and a fenced courtyard for privacy. All this, and only a short walk to great restaurants and galleries. Leave the car parked and stroll around the quiet neighborhood, or to the Taos Plaza for the Farmer's Market and live music. The Taos Ale House and the very popular Michael's Kitchen are only a block away. This is a new listing so there are only a few reviews, but to see the larger side and it's reviews please go to VRBO #296467. For a large group of up to nine people the entire house can be rented. Please take note, this house has a unique architecture which includes steps and low doorways in a couple of areas. There is signage to warn of this, but tall people must use caution.

Great communication with property manager. House is spacious. These old towels Holmes can be quirky as they’re added onto over the years. I personally think it gives a charm. Would highly recommend for a family with one or two kids. The one bathroom could make it challenging for anymore.
Comfortable house with all the supplies we needed for a quiet stay. Host was available for consultation at all times, and offered any support needed.Even with neighboring visitors in the other half of the house, we heard no noise and loved the quiet of the location. Also the location is central to Taos & easy to get to, far enough off the main route to still be quiet.

It was a pleasure hosting you for your special occasion. Thanks so much for choosing to stay with us, and for being such good guests!
This is our third year staying here. This year we had the entire house. WE LOVE THIS PLACE!!! The house has such a great vibe! Close to all the galleries and restaurants. We enjoy hanging out at the house in the evening. Thank you so much Laura!!
The house itself was a lovely example of what we expect in Taos, complete with a history and filled with local art. Location allows walking access to many of our favorite places in Taos.
Lovely, well-equipped cottage in quiet location but walking distance to many restaurants and activities. Beautiful courtyard for relaxing in between. Wonderful!
Loved all the antique furniture. The lilac bush in front courtyard was beautiful. Great location you could walk to plaza if you want. A nice home away from home.
My daughter and I stayed at this property before, but on the A side. This time we booked the B side and we loved it as much as we did before. everything is well appointed and all our needs were met. The location is perfect for everything you would need to do or see around Taos and is convenient to longer day trips like Ghost Ranch and Santa Fe. The only thing I would suggest is stocking the shelves with more coffee cups. It was a wonderful 9 day stay and we will book again.

The Perfect Spot
What a wonderful historic home with lots of character. We love how close it is to walk to the Plaza, museums and restaurants. Our dogs loved the 2 enclosed yards and our walks in the quiet streets in the neighborhood.
We’ll certainly stay here again.

Thanks so much for the glowing review, Greg. I am so pleased that you enjoyed your stay so much! Please come again.
Great location and authentic atmosphere in Taos. Property was bigger and better than the photos on VRBO. Large rooms, comfortable bed and furniture, and nice Taos ambiance. I skied at Taos Valley (about 30 min drive) while my wife had easy walking access to plaza, galleries and museums. Would definitely stay again!
