PRIVATE OCEANFRONT RETREAT - LARGE DECK, PANORAMIC VIEWS, MINUTES FROM ACADIA

This lovely home we call Stonehaven is serene, secluded, scenic, sunny, spacious and situated on a one acre wooded lot - only steps away from the shoreline. As you walk in, you will be greeted by the spectacular ocean view. On the first floor there is a master bedroom with a king size bed and a petite / private room with a twin bed.

Walk into the living area and there is a cathedral ceiling with windows from top to bottom and a futon that comfortably sleeps one. Go upstairs to the spacious loft with two twin beds, one with a pull-out twin bed. There’s plenty of room to sit and watch a movie. During high tide, look out to the ocean and you will feel as if you are on a cruise liner…. without the sway of course.

Wonderful home at an amazing location. Host communication and documentation was stellar. Firewood ready for a fire on the beach. Lobster pot ready for your first lobster boil. See the sun rise with lobstermen already on the water. Three nights wasn't enough to truly enjoy a fraction of what the area has to offer. Would return or recommend 100%

Amazing getaway. Perfect location. There is an electric charger at the dorcas library that worked quite well. I left car charging while enjoying a bike ride in the region and made a donation to the library. The people and community are quite friendly. Thank you. Will be coming back

Beautiful place. The owner put together a great resource guide, which was very helpful, right down to a radio station guide, helping my husband find the right station for him. We appreciated the use of the telescope, which we used to find seal on the island. We had mostly foggy/cloudy days, which had its own charm. We really enjoyed setting along the big rocks to watch sunset. Great stay! Thanks for the hospitality.

This is one of those places where you will want to spend as much or more time at the property as you do actually exploring the area around it. And that is very rare for us. We come to Maine every two years or so, and this was by far the best place we have ever stayed at. The house is exactly what you see in the pictures. It is clean, comfortable, and set up with everything you could possibly need for your stay. And the host was extremely accommodating and helpful anytime we had a question or needed assistance. The beach behind the house is simply amazing. And the owner keeps an ample supply of firewood for the burn pit in the garage, a lobster, boiling pot, and anything else you may need. The location of the property was perfect for us. It is away from the commercialization of Bar Harbor, but close enough to spend a day trip there if that is your inclination. We avoided the crowds and shops and mostly explored the small towns in rural Maine, and went hiking. We have found our perfect spot in Maine. We will definitely be returning in the future!

This is a special place tucked away by itself on the ocean, exactly as advertised. There are neighbors but they are far enough away that you don’t notice. I loved being able to walk right out to the rocks and see the ocean. We also thoroughly enjoyed the fire pit. The deck is lovely to lounge on as well. Place is very clean and has everything you need. It is not huge but big enough that you don’t feel cramped. Sometimes photos make things look bigger than they are, in this case the photos were accurate, the place is very nice. Schoodic peninsula is a short ride away and is very beautiful. There are not many places that I would go back to, but this might be one of them .

Wish we could have stayed longer!

We had such a great time and enjoyed our stay. We were only able to stay for a couple nights and will have to stay longer next time. This was our first ever trip to the northeast and absolutely fell in love with the views.

Amazing get-away

We wanted a place to relax, as well as see Acadia national park. Stonehaven was perfect! It is a wonderful house in a great location that our entire family enjoyed. And the owner, and his neighbor who helps out, were fantastic! Would go back in a heartbeat!
